Thanks, weirdscience. I need to iron the clothes before I can photograph them...was supposed to be done this morning but I'd forgotten that I had to take ds to the drs. It's on my list for this afternoon!

PurpleFrog · 14/05/2012 12:53

nsjuly - you can't revise a listing if there is less than 12 hours to go.......

nsjuly · 14/05/2012 13:44

Thanks carrots, I'll do that. It's far too much hardship to try to do it all in one weekend.

Purplefrog, that makes sense, thanks. Not looking like the trainers are going to sell tonight anyway so I'll improve the listing for next time.

weirdscience · 14/05/2012 14:32

Oh, I see, that's OK then, I thought it was just Ebay playing up, often when I relist my photos just disappear! Hmm Happy ironing! Grin

I am going to spend the next few hours ironing and taking photos and then upload everything over the course of tonight and tomorrow night for scheduled starts staggered through the week. Just need to get motivated enough to do it!

mogs0 · 14/05/2012 14:35

Have updated all listing that were waiting for pics.

I still need to edit the PM Mansion listing...it's about the 5th time I've listed it and never got around to updating each time Blush so I really need to get myself organised and update it.

I think I keep stalling because I need to add lots of photos but have never tried to add them in the description box rather than through the main photo bit.

PurpleFrog · 14/05/2012 14:45

mogs0 - I added a number of photos to some of yesterday's listings - but only to those that were free for up to 12 photos! Like you, I keep meaning to investigate the easiest/best way of adding photos in the description. I have a "vintage" mac to list once I wipe the disk and re-install, so want to be able to show lots of nice (free!) pictures for that. What do other people use?

mogs0 · 14/05/2012 14:51

Apparently, if you upload the photos to somewhere like photo bucket, you then just have to c&p the URL? In theory this sounds impossible doable but, in practice, I know I'll get it wrong!

weirdscience · 14/05/2012 17:41

Right, I have ironed and taken photos of 30 things, I am going to put them on in 3 lots of 10 starting tonight, tomorrow and Thursday.

Then that is everything I have to list done, although I might have a clear out of my own stuff as I have only really had kids stuff listed so far, but not sure I have much worth selling really!

carrotsandcelery · 14/05/2012 18:04

That's a good idea WS. I might try to do similar as I am not out this week until Friday. I need to get it moving as I can hardly move in our study.

dizzyday07 · 14/05/2012 19:59

I've only managed a few re-lists and the new listings need pictures doing

mine

mogs0 · 14/05/2012 21:50

Yay, I have a bid!!

Also, got a few watchers so fingers crossed I'll have a good run with this lot.

Weirdscience - breaking it down into smaller amounts is a good idea...I often think to do it this way but never get around to it and cram as much into a free listing weekend as possible. I work best under the pressure of deadline HmmGrin.

notcitrus · 15/05/2012 11:57

Good news - baby carrier recipient is very happy (MrNC was scrubbing some crud off not totally successfully, and I was worried the buyer would complain). But a cheap plastic toy broke a bit in the post - I've refunded the cost of the item so hopefully the buyer will be content with that.

weirdscience · 15/05/2012 16:32

I have a dress with over 30 watchers, I am excited!! Grin

That's a shame notcitrus, hope you haven't lost out on too much.

Hoping to get the last 10 items done tonight scheduled for Thurs, that will give me 64 things running, and while I really hope everything sells I have the fear of getting it all to the post office Smile

milk · 15/05/2012 19:24

Get me to the gold Wink

PiedWagtail · 15/05/2012 19:31

Yeah, just sold two Mont Blanc pens on eBay along with assorted kids' things and clothes and now have won a gold medal for selling on eBay :) Grin Will be spending money for holidays!!

weirdscience · 15/05/2012 21:47

I like your rings Milk! I think you will be getting gold! Smile

Well done PiedWagtail.

I am at £292, the gold is within reach! Grin All my relisted items that were unsold sold tonight, one even had a bit of a bidding war on it, it's strange when that happens, I guess it's just luck if people are on the look out for a specific item.

nsjuly · 15/05/2012 22:22

My sales have etched £257.85, yay, however one buyer has not yet paid up for shoes won on Sunday night. So annoyed, they went for £38. Why the hell do people persist in bidding if they are not going to follow through and pay??! Tis buyer was bidding against another. Absolutely no communication either and I've emailed her 3 times now.

Tortoise · 16/05/2012 08:15

Not doing great so far with listings. One item, DSs old football kit, is upto £10! Shock

bobkate · 16/05/2012 08:21

Got one bid and a couple of watchers...nothing brilliant yet. When you all say you've made such and such amount, are you taking away all the fees, etc and working out the postage difference, etc? You all are doing so well - I worked out that even though I made about £85 - I reckon by the time all the fees are taken off and postage costs, etc it was more like about £60. Which is great, but kind of took the shine off a bit when I worked it all out!

weirdscience · 16/05/2012 12:48

I also hate when it takes buyers several days to pay, especially when you know that they have been bidding near the end!

My total is not including the postage, but I still have ebay fees to pay which are currently standing at just under £40, which I hate.

Spooky coincidence, I was selling a larger toy and someone emailed to see if they would be able to collect it (I was pleased as posting would have been hard!) So they won last night and it turns out it is someone I work with! Grin

PurpleFrog · 16/05/2012 13:25

weirdscience - I know what you mean. I had 2 items that I sold last Wednesday which were still unpaid at the beginning of this week. One was eventually paid on Monday evening and I started a non-paying bidder case yesterday against the other - only the second I have ever had to do.

But it is possible to for buyers to bid near the end using a sniper, then pay the next time they log on to eBay.....

Magneto · 16/05/2012 21:00

Could I join the challenge please? I finally managed to get dh to get some of the baby stuff out of the loft and got it all up there! I've still got loads to put on too.

Hope you don't mind me linking to my items

nsjuly · 16/05/2012 21:44

Looks great Magneto, you have been busy!

My buyer from Sunday night paid this afternoon and I also had a perfume finishing tonight and the buyer paid immediately so am delighted with ebay again and will post both tomorrow morning. Feel very optimistic that I will have great sales next week. We need to do some work on our garden that is going to cost about ?500 so want to pay for it solely with ebay proceeds. I'd be well on my way there if I hadn't blown over £200 on a handbag at the weekend but what the heck, I'll make up for it!

carrotsandcelery · 16/05/2012 22:53

I blew a fortune on craft materials on ebay today. My consolation is that it was a fortune cheaper on ebay than it would have been anywhere else I looked and it was all out of my paypal account, which my dmum calls, "found money". Grin

I do feel a tiny bit guilty but I won't when it all arrives Grin

weirdscience · 17/05/2012 13:05

Finally made it past the £300 barrier, gold medal, woohoo! Smile

Have some more things scheduled for tonight, and now have 45 watchers on the dress with over 2 days to go, I have high hopes! Grin I would love to get £400, but not sure I will make it! My fees will take a bit of a chunk of what I have so far!
