Oblomov - I know, it is a very strange place!

How are you getting on with your total? I saw your post last week (or was it the week before) but I didn't have time to comment at the time. I hope you're making enough to hit your target Smile

PoohBearsHole · 01/05/2012 18:14

Only one of my listings has sold so far - 8 out of my load have bids on. Perhaps I am deluded Grin

weirdscience · 01/05/2012 20:04

Sold another 8 tonight, that's a total of £160 so far in 2 weeks (although I am spending it almost as fast as making it Blush) 4 of my items tonight were bought by the same person, who bought 2 things the other day too, she is going to collect to save on postage so that's 6 things I don't need to bother wrapping!

Still got 26 items on and a bin bag worth to go.

bobkate · 02/05/2012 19:24

Still no bids on any of my stuff... but I have 5 people watching my bag, and some 3's,2's and 1's watching some of the rest of it. Glad some of you are having such good results. I hope that your luck rubs off on me! Smile Just hanging out for Sunday evening really!!

nsjuly · 02/05/2012 20:15

Good luck bobkate, hopefully those watchers will become buyers! Someone won an item I'm selling at lunchtime yesterday but hasn't yet paid. I have sent them two messages, just saying that I was going to the PO in an hour and would post their item if they could complete payment. I said the same today but asked if there was a problem. Still no reply. How long do you give people to pay up?

weirdscience · 02/05/2012 20:29

Good luck Bobkate, it's still a while until Sunday I am sure you'll get lots of bids Smile

I have finished listing everything I have looked out, so have 36 items all finishing over the next 7 days Here they are

Might have to have another clear out after this lot, I have now become slightly obsessed! Grin

mogs0 · 02/05/2012 21:58

£24 tonight!

Not the highest total but I'm pleased that the items got a bid and can get out of my house Grin.

I'm going to spend half an hour updating the listings that I set up over the weekend then pack up tonight's sold items ready to post tomorrow.

carrotsandcelery · 02/05/2012 22:03

Well done Mogs. I am not generating much interest in my stuff this week. I am trying not to check too often because not much is happening.

PoohBearsHole · 02/05/2012 22:57

Made just over £100 yay! Not everything sold but I am def going to relist and double check my postage as went to post something today and the PO bloke said that he had to "force" my large letter through - he didn't but hey ho and told me that I would have to pay for a packet instead. So I told him I wasn't going to send it if that was the case and came home and put it in a different envelope.

blondiedollface · 03/05/2012 16:26

Been lurking for a good while on here and procrastinating my little heart out... I have a great big box full of things I need to get on ebay but the motivation to photograph and actually list it all is severely lacking...

Hoping reading all your posts will inspire me to get my arse in gear!!

carrotsandcelery · 03/05/2012 16:38

blondie how about one a day, or one a week even? You don't have to do it all at once. One photo and one listing will only take 10 mins.

mogs0 · 03/05/2012 17:02

Carrots - I hope your items get more interest soon!

Poohbear - yay, well done! Did your parcel get through the slot in the new envelope? My current postmistress is really lovely and helpful, though have dealt with lots of unfriendly/unhelpful types before. It's very annoying.

Blondie - go on, you know you really want to! It does become quite addictive when you have a couple of good auctions that attract lots of watchers/bids!

I didn't do anything last night Blush so will not be watching any tv until I have caught up with editing and packing up parcels.

I have had an enquiry from the lady who bought the expansion floor (from USA) asking if I'd ship the PM mansion to her. The expansion floor cost £35 to ship so I would imagine the mansion would cost at least double.

Any idea of how to get a cheaper quote?

blondiedollface · 03/05/2012 17:06

Carrots That is a wonderful idea, how had I never thought of that blames pregnant brain resolves to post one item tomorrow and go from there!! Thank you Grin

carrotsandcelery · 03/05/2012 17:09

I am Shock at the price of shipping the expansion floor. They are not that bulky. I am sorry but I don't know much about shipping. Is anyone heading to the USA soon? My best friend lives there now and we wait for someone to visit her and load them up with stuff. They are usually happy as they buy lots out there as it is cheaper.

There must be some sort of courier service that is not as expensive surely?

It might warrant a thread all of it's own!

AkhalTeke · 03/05/2012 20:29

Uurgh I'm behind on my packing and posting.

PoohBearsHole · 04/05/2012 10:57

mogs same bloke and different envelope - it went through more than easily Grin I do wish though that buyers would all pay relatively quickly because then I wouldn't have to make so many blooming trips to the po, I wouldn't mind but we don't really live that close and I feel that if I charge that bit more for postage I should make it there pretty quickly. Its only what I would expect myself, or like to expect myself!

Anyway - have seen a gorgeous a handbag which I think I might put my money towards as mine has just started to fall apart!

weirdscience · 04/05/2012 15:30

Well done Pooh, I hate when you think that the envelope could fit through if only they tried a little harder Grin

That sounds a lot for shipping to the USA are there any courier companies that could do it for less?

I made £2.19 last night... every little helps! Grin

mogs0 · 04/05/2012 16:33

Poohbear - glad it went through ok! I've just sent 6 parcels and all of them were the tiniest bit too big to fit through the slot and I packed them so carefully in the hope that they'd fit. Luckily, I had set the p&p price at the small packet rate so haven't lost out.

Re the shipping to USA. The expansion floor was about 100g too heavy to go for the cheaper shipping and there was no way I could have reduced the weight any further. Buyer was happy to pay it though.

I haven't looked into the shipping of the mansion yet but will have a google later this evening.

Puffinsaresmall · 04/05/2012 17:41

oh dear Grin I sold a dvd with Danish language covers, brand new and sealed, which I had been assured played in English. The buyer has just informed me that it does but only with permanent subtitles on, argh! Anyone know of anyway of removing them?

Got a few bits ending tonight but they're all books and only 1 bid. Need to do some serious listing over the weekend!

blondiedollface · 04/05/2012 19:05

Thank you for your inspiration ladies!! I have listed my first two items Grin

Any advice from any of you on my listings will be greatly received, and thanks in advance!

bobkate · 04/05/2012 20:05

Yay! I have one bidder! Whoop whoop! Roll on Sunday! Just a tad excited....saddo Grin

carrotsandcelery · 04/05/2012 20:36

I have finally generated some interest. We have bids on 3 items (total of £8 something so not exactly billionaires but it all helps) and more watchers on a lot more items. Yay!

carrotsandcelery · 05/05/2012 16:33

Things are definitely picking up. I have bids on 5 items now, totally £21 ish for now. This week may not be such a wash out. Smile

CointreauVersial · 05/05/2012 17:17

25 items finishing tomorrow; bids on six of them totalling £26, so it's a better week than last week.

I finally managed to ship the last Pippa Doll yesterday; the buyer made a complete hash of the Paypal payment, and I was probably a bit pedantic insisting she put it through properly so I had proof of her address, but it was sorted out in the end.

I can't be bothered to do much listing this weekend, I shall just relist what doesn't sell.

blondiedollface · 05/05/2012 17:43

First bid, and I'm ridiculously ecstatic even if it is only 99p with 10 watchers Grin

I can see how this can become addictive!!
