I've made bronze! Hooray me.

I'm well on the way to silver is the buy pays me for the chair they one.

I've managed to list 7 things today and will have a good go a listing some more tomorrow.
my stuff It's all lowish value but hoping it get's out of the house. We are emigrating in October and I would like as much gone as possible!

carrotsandcelery · 29/04/2012 11:08

Where are you emigrating to?

Tortoise · 29/04/2012 14:20

Ooh what was deleted?

Suddenly got bids on super Mario swim shorts. Up to £4 now. Very few watchers on my items which isn't good as I thought these were good items!

CointreauVersial · 29/04/2012 14:37

I have 11 items finishing today, with lots of watchers, but no bids. I'm hoping the vile weather will mean everyone stays in and buys stuff.

I have 16 items of clothing scheduled to start later - I just need to add the photos. This new postage pricing is a bugger, isn't it? Even the lightest parcel, if it won't be squashed into a Large Letter, comes out as £2.20 second class. It is easy to work out the weight of a package, but not easy at all to guess if it will be flat enough! So I'm quoting £2.80 postage for everything with a statement that if it happens to fit into a Large Letter I will offer a partical refund. What a pain.

Another problem hanging over me is payment for one of the Pippa dolls I sold last weekend. The buyer faffed around for days, then asked for my email address and put the payment through on Paypal as a "personal" payment. That means I don't get to see a delivery address. Needless to say, I'm not about to send the item to whatever random address she gives me, or I won't be covered if it goes astray. So I've refunded the money and asked her to put it through properly, as a "purchase" payment. I'll probably get a negative for being so pedantic and picky, but tuff titty, I am not going to get ripped off if I can help it.

Well done everyone else, you all seem to be flying.

mogs0 · 29/04/2012 15:34

I'm just going to tackle the mountains of chaos upstairs and hoping to list a few things as I go along.

One pair of pyjamas now have bids up to £6-something and still have three days left! Only one other bid though so pinning everything on the one set of pjs at the moment for this weeks total Grin.

PM expansion floor has been received in America and the buyer is really pleased so I can relax about that one now.

carrotsandcelery · 29/04/2012 15:43

I bids on four items so far, reaching a grand total of £3.96 Grin I don't think I will be making big bucks tonight. I will be delighted to see things leave the house though.

AkhalTeke · 29/04/2012 16:16

I'm at £162, but already had a buyer message me and ask where her item was three days after paying, when I stated 2nd class, posting within 2 working days. I think people expect delivery within 1, or at the most 2 days, whatever you state, but I'm not a business or a shop, I'm a working parent, I can't always do it that . that will be a low DSR Sad

5 decent items listed today, and will put some 99p stuff on during the week.

AkhalTeke · 29/04/2012 16:17

that quickly

roosterroo · 29/04/2012 17:45

nearly up to the bronze level, have added some cricket gear if anyone else has a cricket mad son?

bobkate · 29/04/2012 20:29

ok! I'm all listed - hooray!! Would appreciate your opinions if that's ok.... be as honest as you like as I've not really sold clothes before, or so much in one go.

Cheers!

HateBeingCantDoUpMyJeans · 29/04/2012 20:29

Anyone else having trouble getting ATM my stuff is ending and it's thrown me out Sad

weirdscience · 29/04/2012 20:35

The deleted post was someone selling ebay feedback, I didn't know you could do that...not sure if I should say, but I can be deleted if I shouldn't have. I wasn't aware you could do that, seems very dodgy!

I have nothing ending tonight, but most of my scheduled items are now on, but I have spent the day packaging everything up for the post office tomorrow. DD picked 2 hoodies today for her school trip, so that took £45 out of my total, so my paypal is back down to just below £100 again! Grin

notcitrus · 29/04/2012 21:08

Wow - buggy went for £57 with a proper bidding war of 6 bids in the last two minutes! Wasn't expecting more than £40. And the winner arranged within 5 minutes to collect tomorrow night as they live about 2 miles away. :)
Though the baby bjorn has only 2 watchers and no bids, but I can relist if it doesn't sell.

So i'm off the mark with £70 in my first week, subject to collection etc. and have listed a few other things: here

carrotsandcelery · 29/04/2012 21:11

I made the grand total of £10.04 which, although a tiny total, amazes me considering what I was selling.

I have relisted up to my max of 100 items and already have one watcher so hopefully this week will make me a little more cash!

Tortoise · 29/04/2012 22:18

Made around £27 tonight.
Failed to list or relist anything. Lost track of time.

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 29/04/2012 22:19

There is still time to relist Tortoise!

CointreauVersial · 29/04/2012 22:32

A pathetic £7 this evening (£6.98 to be precise), which takes me to £229.48. I managed to list a fair amount of stuff this evening before I ran out of time, and I'm hoping for better next week.

bobkate · 29/04/2012 22:39

Shameless beg for opinions pls! Pleased that my items finish before 9 next week as it's the series finale of homeland which I'm really loving! carrots I'm wondering how on earth you manage to list 100 items! I've only done 17 and it's taken me the best part of 2 days, and some!

PoohBearsHole · 29/04/2012 23:50

Have decided to join you Grin
I have listed 62 items this weekend on free listing weekend............
I know I will have made a few errors but am feeling both a little drained and slightly exhilarated but can see confusion heading in my direction..........
But my photo's are a bit pants.
Last week I got to the princely sum of £8, oh joy like that is going to get me far!

weirdscience · 30/04/2012 00:02

Bobkate, it all looks good to me, good luck! Smile

hazchem · 30/04/2012 08:40

weird I saw the link link to the deleted post when it was live and clicked through. My internet safety program blocked the site and said it was a scam thing. I then reported it.
Pretty sure you can't sell positive feedback. In fact the Today program had a story about it on Friday morning although that was for trip adviser.

PoohBearsHole · 30/04/2012 09:21

bobkate -re uploading - took me 2 days to do them, spent a lot of time pre organising and quite frankly am now terrified of the idea of being at the post office and pissing people off if everything sell Grin (highly unlikely although hint hint lots of lovely girls clothes 0-4 and some maternity stuff too......)
Am hoping that someone decides to do lots of purchasing and combined postage Blush

carrotsandcelery · 30/04/2012 09:58

My listings are all relistings. It takes me forever to list stuff. There is no way I could list all that in a weekend. Shock

I do think the trick is to list a few a day and schedule them for as far in the future as you can and then make them live as soon as a free listing becomes available. I have only managed this once but it does now mean that I can list up to my max no of things on a free listing weekend.

I still have some which are not listed as I met my limit.

The limit is 100 things for the full month I think, so things which I have listed and sold earlier in the month come off that too. ie I don't think I actually have 100 things listed just now but the total of what I have sold and what I have currently listed is 100 iykwim.

Here's hoping for a busy selling week.

I am off to parcel up my packages.

PurpleFrog · 30/04/2012 10:01

PoohBearsHole - I am in awe - I have never managed to have more than around 30 items on at one time, and that was a rare occurrence!

However, I did get around to listing myself this weekend, so have 19 items up at present (although 9 are relists with minor revisions). I ironed some things that I didn't have time to list, so will try to get these listings prepared during the week and maybe put some more things up on Thursday for 10 days. Some of the photos I took yesterday will have to be re-done against a different background as the colours are way-off.
