My beach today. It's the place I go when I really need some sanity. Although today it was a walk with a friend rather than a desperation visit! If you're not on the app, zoom in and you'll see the seals.

Late - sorry that this cycle hasn't worked for you Sad

I always took comfort in the planning the next step when a cycle didn't work so after you've had some time to be fed up about it try to think positive and decide what's next Flowers

witchmountain · 09/04/2017 00:06

Munro, where is that?

taydex · 09/04/2017 07:54

Pez - cautiius congrats. I do hope this is your time. Let us know what today's pee stick looks like.

Late - So sorry AF has arrived. She can be a bitch sometimes. I always find it a bit of a head f* some months really wanting to see her and others really not. Take care of you.

Karen - Boo and yay for morning sickness. Take care of you please.

x

pickle162 · 09/04/2017 08:21

Pez anymore tests yet???

Well last night was a 1.30 bedtime-boy thank goodness this week is only 4 days!! My best friends mum txt me last night & invited me for a surprise BBQ for my friends birthday today 😊yay (but was planning on more naps!) I haven't been home since Friday morning, no washing done but will be lovely day in the sun ☀️

Where was the beach in your photo witch looks gorgeous

Munrowalker · 09/04/2017 08:28

Oh @late I'm so sorry about your news. AF totally sucks 😥 big hugs
@witch that was Balnakeil bay near durness. Today we hike out to Sandwood bay.
Where are you?
One of our local beaches has resident seals too. It's so nice to see them.

INeedNewShoes · 09/04/2017 08:36

Ooh I've done the walk to Sandwood bay Munro. It's fabulous! The weather was like today and there's not much shade so my tip is to make sure you take enough water and sunscreen!

Munrowalker · 09/04/2017 08:43

@shoes I've done it a few times now too but always keen to go back!
It's not quite as sunny up here!!! But still can't complain if you get a bright and dry day at the beginning of April in North Scotland then you're doing well 😎

Pez82 · 09/04/2017 08:47

This is what the FRER looks like this morning (tested at 6am as my bladder was exploding but then went back to sleep and only woke up again now)

The waiting game continues...

Wow - good line! That is absolutely a BFP!

Congratulations Pez Smile

witchmountain · 09/04/2017 08:50

Ooh, that's got stronger Pez!

My beach is Holkham on the North Norfolk coast.

pickle162 · 09/04/2017 08:54

Eeeeeeeekkkkkkk pez I'm so friggin excited for you my lovely!!!!!!

witchmountain · 09/04/2017 08:55

Thinking of you this morning Late. It's awful waking up and remembering something horrible has happened.

Cazinge, hope your embryos are multiplying away.

Pez82 · 09/04/2017 08:57

Caution, I know you mentioned moving straight to IVF but let me just say this:
Although I wasn't successful with IUI, I would probably still take the same approach. There are pros and cons for both options but if IUI works for you on the 1st or 2nd try you would have saved yourself 1,000s of £. I have to say that I found the IVF treatment easy and had no side effects from the meds but others might. On the other hand I had reached the point where I couldn't go any longer through the stress of spotting my LH surge and getting the clinic to find me a decent time for the IUI. I also felt that the timing was off for 2 out of my 3 tries. And my second one was wasted due to my body not resetting itself properly after being on progesterone the first month. I knew IVF would also tell me what was going on with my eggs.
So my experience with IUI hasn't been the best but we have proof on this thread that it works. I think it's good to have a plan in mind, i.e. How many tries before moving onto a more aggressive protocol.

pickle162 · 09/04/2017 08:59

Ah witch I was near that at Xmas-we stayed in weybourne, my parents went over to hol Khan, nearest I got was wells next the sea.
Very pretty area

pickle162 · 09/04/2017 08:59

Holkham!!! Stoopid autocorrect 🙄

taydex · 09/04/2017 09:02

Eeeepppp!!!! That's a great line Pez!!! So excited for you xx

Pez82 · 09/04/2017 09:05

I'm not allowing myself to get (too) excited until I get the Beta on Tuesday!
I might go and buy more FRERs today so I can test again tomorrow at the same time.

pickle162 · 09/04/2017 09:08

I agree with pez caution I wouldn't rush to have ivf, however wait till you've had your consultation to see what they advised for you. We are all different and will depend on our AMH, our follies, our lining. The thing is yes ivf has a higher success rate however on here we have still had negatives with ivf same as we have with iui. I am pleased I'm doing Medicated so I don't have to get timings right. I too have set myself a limit on how many iui I would try before going to ivf and really unless they said after iui we think x is wrong I would poss be inclined to do about 5 tries and then have a break and save and try ivf. My clinic only allows u to try every other month so u have a break between each cycles anyway.
Sooooo as per my pre waffle -chat at ur consultation, they will tell discuss the best options for you :)

pickle162 · 09/04/2017 09:18

I already have about 6 frers and some others ones ready :)

Everhopeful76 · 09/04/2017 09:23

Fab line pez, it's really strong for testing 2 days early, yeeeaaahh

I m so sorry late that it hasn't worked this time. Sad for you xxx

My favourite beaches are holkham and wells next to sea too witch. Was there on tues, was overcast but I also saw the lovely seals. That said it has been my favourite place in my 30 s and leading up to having Mabel. It's a shame it has a bit of an association clouded with it in terms of sad memories
May try and find a new safe peaceful place alongside it. Might try search in East Sussex or Kent, never really been that way. Any recommendations? Xxx

pickle162 · 09/04/2017 09:32

Sussex-Brighton is nice but busy
West Sussex-the witterings are my favourite but a bit further on
Kent-broadstairs is nice
Whitstable is another favourite and often has farmers market and harbour to walk round- love it there. Pebbles rather than sand but always find beaches very calming

Everhopeful76 · 09/04/2017 09:41

& caution definitely what Pez and pickle say.
You need to establish where you're at with fertility to see what's going to give you the best result. I have a friend up in Bolton who is the same sort of age as you and she has been successful with donor iui un medicated on 2 nd attempt. However she was getting frustrated after the first attempt ( she lost her first baby to stillbirth)and did want to move to ivf but had bought 3 rounds of iui for a package of 3 k which I thought was a pretty competitive price. She has maybe wasted a 1 k but has reached her goal. She says if she was to miscarry she d go straight to ivf next.
I too found the ivf process relatively easily physically, dab hand with injections and had no nasty side efffects but I recognise was lucky with that, others really suffer
Can't obviously comment on iui personally because my clinic said no point due to age and abdominal surgery (twice for endo and c section). Said this when I first enquired at age 38 and actually before any surgery so must have been an age criteria but it did look likely surgery would b needed then so knew it was going to b a non starter. However if I find myself with any gaps in treatment and waiting lists I would still want to give it a try and would ask another clinic their opinion
Xx

Everhopeful76 · 09/04/2017 09:44

Thanks pickle. Whitstable is somewhere that has been mentioned but never been. Have been to Brighton and yes definitely right it being busy. The other places I ll check out. Cheers x

Snorkmaiden85 · 09/04/2017 09:57

Pez!!!! so happy for you. How are you feeling? I can't wait to (hopefully) be in this position myself :)

Ever, was it you who asked if anyone will be doing a cycle in June? It's looking like I might be doing my first iui then, well, at the very end of June! I was really hoping for early May but it's taken aaaaaages for the clinic to get my consultation in - it's not until 3rd May. I ovulate again at the end of May, but I'm going away with my friend which has been in the diary for ages, was a bit gutted when I realised that could have been my first cycle :( But trying to remind myself that a) a month is nothing in the grand scheme of things, b) it'll be good for me to do something not totally dictated by this process, and c) I deffo need to get used to waiting!! Trying to work on my patience...

pickle glad I'm not the only one that uses both pills and a countdown app to calm my brain! I bought 90 folic acid pills a few months back hoping that at the end of those I'd be ready, but I reached the end this week and had to buy another pot :( It's 80 days on the app left for me! But it really does help seeing it steadily go down each day. Hope the next 20 days whoosh by for you :)

Thanks caution and witch, the migraines have definitely eased up a lot! I honestly didn't think quitting caffeine would be so hard, though actually apart from the migraines, I've felt great!

witch ooh meet up!! I'll DM you my number. I'm trying to be super frugal for the rest of April so might not make it along, but I'll investigate coach travel. Do you think you'll do another one?

late I'm so sorry it didn't happen for you this time. Look after yourself and don't lose hope xx
