Periods: crushing dreams since the dawn of time.

Too early to test but after a few days of what I had convinced myself was implantation bleeding I now feel periody - the familiar grinding ache, the weird abdomen flattening, and the pain in my boobs has reduced significantly. I guess I'll keep going with the progesterone until Monday (unless it is really obvious - at the moment still just a smudge) and won't dare drink at my friend's wedding today. Damn, damn, damn.

pickle what is the plan for your treatment? 21 days till you start is exciting.

My little swimmers have arrived in the clinic (got confirmation yesterday). Just waiting for the consent appointment now before I start.

Bear how exciting that ds arrived :) when is it looking like you'll start treatment?
I have 21 more tablets to take (20days tho now as take pill in evening) so last pill 27th April, money for treatment comes out 28th then baseline scan 2nd may when also start the medication injections that evening with iui around the 15th may if not before-just depends on how follicles are growing 😁

Oh late, stay strong, there are millions of stories of women who were convinced AF was on the way and got a BFP. I hope you can enjoy your friend's wedding today. Sending hugs 💐

I know that feeling far too well Munro. I second Pickle's advice. But also could you do a gradual return? I've just been dealing with my HR team after being signed off for 2 weeks last month & they've been really helpful so hope it's ok for you. Make sure you're really gentle and kind with yourself.

Pickle Yes I'm doing iui in Denmark now. It's pretty much the same cost after shipping the magic potion to the UK (well once you take the level of motility into account). And at least this way I know it basically made it to the right place.

Bought my flights for next month last night. Ended up buying two different return dates because I wanted to be safe but for an extra £8 felt like it was worth it! Got a few things I need to sort this end but getting there!

Pickle We are SO cycle buddies! My iui will be May 15/16 too!!!

@pickle162 @PhoenixMama Based on my current cycle I think my IUI will be 19/20 May so not too far behind. Will be good to have others experiencing the tww at the same time

bear pickle phoenix could be only 2 w behind you but as ivf wouldn't be finding out if treatment had worked till 2 nd or 3 rd week in jun. But that's if they ll accept my bmi at day 1 of cycle and my period behaves. Rather big IFS sadly.
Exciting that there is 3 of you going at more or less same time

late eugh I'm sorry, but really it isn't over till it's over! Positive thoughts! By bff had a period when pregnant with her first, after she'd taken a pregnancy test, it confused her greatly, but there you go!

Has anyone ever enquired about financial schemes that you either contribute to or not and can get cash back if your treatment fails?
I didn't think I met the criteria because of low amh, low AFC, endo, bmi. However I met someone from assured fertility at fertility show who has certainly said I d meet the criteria for egg donation treatment and she s since been in contact saying that they have brought out a new type of cover which may suit my situation. They didn't cover donor embryo treatment so it could be relating to that or it could be for my own egg treatment but I d need to contribute more.
I got a good feeling from her and she was in floods of tears when I told my story about Mabel. She may of felt sorry for me however
I think she felt because I d got pregnant with the odds I had, and the syndrome Mabel had that clearly I ve got a fully functioning womb so they were prepared to take a risk on me

Never heard of these schemes Ever, I had no idea such things existed!

If this cycle doesn't work I'll be looking at transferring one of my frozen embryos in June so might be cycling with you then. (I'm not being negative about this month, just realistic and it helps to think of the back up plan!)

pezI was aware of a non contributory scheme but was suspicious of the criteria needed to be met. I think you have to be under 36 which would have ruled me out but wasn't aware of the contributory Ones which assured is one such. Am sure there is a catch but not as yet been able to speak with this lady. I did think she was compassionate and she actually used to work with babies with heart conditions so I did immediately connect with her. If you or anyone is interested to know, can pass the details on once I get the info

Would b good to cycle with you too but I do hope this cycle will be a success for you. I ve seen so many move from iui to ivf and the statistical increase in success has worked for them. Hope you are lucky too xxx

Just a quick update. I am currently in recovery at the hospital waiting to be discharged. EC went well & they retrieved 15 eggs try are aiming for bastpcyst transfer Weds asuming some fertilise/grow etc.

Yay, great news cazinge! 15 is an amazing starting number!
Good luck with the phone calls from embryology over the next few days - keep us updated!

Thanks pez really amazed how easy it all was. The worst bit was waiting to go in to theatre! I have v mild period type cramps & the tiniest bit of spotting (only when I wipe) so absolutely nothing to be worry about (for anyone reading this who was nervous like me)

Yeah I only got a bit of spotting when I started using the pessaries the same night but really I couldn't believe anyone had been in there!

Shoes im glad littleshoes is moving around enough it must be getting quite cramped in there anyways!!

Got my second surgery date through this morning (wisdom teeth removal)... 2nd May... Not too far, but far enough!!
