Things I don't understand on here

UnquietDad · 27/01/2008 22:01

Even after over a year, I still don't fully understand, or want to, the discussions on the following, and therefore avoid them like the plague. In fact, I think most of them scare me a little.

The Fly Lady. (WTF?)
Cleaner debates.
Mooncups.
"What's for dinner?"
Buying and selling.
Quinny Buzzes. (I used to think it was some sort of drink until I googled it.)

Any more?

Swap Shop
Baby Names
Breast v. Bottle
Boden
Am I being unreasonable?

Vacua · 27/01/2008 22:04

AIBU is great though, what's not to like or understand?

pointydog · 27/01/2008 22:05

You are a man. You should run like the clappers from nearly all of the threads on here.

AllieBongo · 27/01/2008 22:06

i still have no idea what scuttle bugs are?

expatinscotland · 27/01/2008 22:06

Well, Vacua, because it's a rhetorical question.

Twiglett · 27/01/2008 22:07

Dadsnet

you don't talk about anything and it's full of women

expatinscotland · 27/01/2008 22:07

the 10/10 threads in the health section with the great titles.

what are they for/about - vegetarians?

Vacua · 27/01/2008 22:08

but AIBU is full of the best unintentionally amusing stuff ever

AIBU is great for entertainment though, as are the Relationship threads. If only to think "Christ, I may not be as attentive as DW may like some days but at least I am nowhere near as bad as that tosser..."

ZippiBabes · 27/01/2008 22:08

oh they occasionally get in a huddle and talk ablout politiciams they fancy

PillockOfTheCommunity · 27/01/2008 22:09

the 10/10 threads are just about trying to be healthier and encouraging each other to eat 10 fruits and 10 veg a day, I think

pointydog · 27/01/2008 22:09

Men love that. 'oo I am not as bad as him'. As if that makes them good. Men think that makes them good.

It doesn't

ZippiBabes · 27/01/2008 22:10

oh expat 10/10 is great fun..we just hide behind f and v to have surreal chat

I have no idea what scuttlebugs are either. I imagine them being these little robot vacuum cleaners, which look like the Cybermats in Doctor Who or the drones from Farscape, and which go round cleaning up everyone's mess after them. No moral dilemma over the cleaner issue then...

PillockOfTheCommunity · 27/01/2008 22:12

scuttlebugs I get, they are just a group that started as a word game thread but they were chatting too much and getting moaned at so started a chat thread!

HELLO PILLOCK

how was Friday? (went out for meal with a MAN instead )

Vacua · 27/01/2008 22:20

didn't mean to simultaneously kill and hijack the thread

there are lots of topics puzzlingly absent from mumsnet too

pointydog · 27/01/2008 22:21

I'm frightened to ask, vacue...

UnquietDad · 27/01/2008 22:22

Give us some, vacua!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 27/01/2008 22:22

pmsl
I spotted you on the cleaner thread but sensed you may have a bee in your bonnet and kept away (wouldn't want you to bash my car or anything )

Friday night wasn't

UnquietDad · 27/01/2008 22:23

Oh, and I also meant to add - celeb-worship. Obsessing over Brad and Angelina and Posh and all the other wastes of space. Men. Do Not. Do This.

OP posts:
pointydog · 27/01/2008 22:24

Isn't that because men have porn?
