I'm really amazed that blokes come on here! I thought you'd all be far too 'cocky' for this ladies thing!!??!! Or are you in fact women posing as men??????!!!????

wrong way round manuka. we are all blokes posing as women.

half of us are hairy truckers and the other half are 14 year old horny boys.

i don't think there's been an actual woman on here since 2003.

i myself am a hairy trucker.

vimfuego · 16/04/2007 19:31

It's forbidden fruit

Greenleeves · 16/04/2007 19:36

Well, if by "cocky" you mean "bearing a cock", then you've made an accurate (if superfluous) observation.

If not, then what the buggery bollocks are you on about?

manuka · 16/04/2007 19:37

I don't think all men are cocky really I was just really surprised that men would come on here! my chap spends his internet time on things like Stumble Upon and technical sites etc. dull

Well, personally I have better things to do (football, beer, reading FHM, swearing, computer games, teaching DS to ring doorbells and run away, ogling other women's breasts, thinking about sex every 0.3 of a second, chewing my toenails, keepie-uppies, darts, shaving, talking about football, oozing testosterone from every pore, insert stereotyped male pastime here) but my DP makes me.

It's got nothing to do with the easy availability of help, advice, comment, opinion, and the fact that for any situation you encounter there's probably already a posting about it (along with several suggested solutions). It also has nothing to with the fact that if there isn't already a posting on a subject, and you post about it, you're pretty much guaranteed an array of folk will be eager to share their views and opinions within a short space of time. Nor has it anything to do with the fact that most men's sites parenting tend to be short of actual people, unlike here. And it's got nothing to do with the fact that some men actually like reading and occasionally joining in the gossiping and moaning and bitching that goes on here.

A Y chromosome and a brain aren't necessarily mutually exclusive...

i want to know why hardly any of the men have profiles. why should my nosying at people be limited to women? i think i've only seen HD and BGD with profiles so far.

BigGitDad · 17/04/2007 09:23

I like this site, it is funny and informative. I was hooked by Morning paper and her infamous comments about SWMNBN which had me in stitches. There are some very very funny people on here and I like a good laugh.
Incidentally I have learned an awful lot since being on here about the mum's viewpoint but don't tell my wife!

Somebody tell me what SWMNBN means? I've seen it a couple of times in the last day or so, and it's beginning to annoy me. I think someone enlightened me once, but I can't remember and it's not in the acronym list.

vimfuego · 17/04/2007 10:55

MP, it is related to the text in the "Add your message" box, that starts "it is with great regret that..."

VeniVidiVickiQV · 17/04/2007 11:00

it stands for "She Who Must Not Be Named" and thats as much as I can say on the matter....

MummyPenguin · 17/04/2007 12:13

Oh yes, I know who you mean. I've read a bit about her and what happened on here, and it strikes me that it's all been blown out of proportion. Perhaps I'm missing something? But it seemed to be one hell of a storm in a teacup over something that was really not that big a deal.

BigGitDad · 17/04/2007 13:13

MP, this subject is a bit of a no go area now so you won't have much luck discussing it here.
Littlelapin, I also laughed at the Big Jugs title, It was a cheap shot to get the male attention. (worked for me though!)

DrDaddy · 17/04/2007 13:21

Shit! Am I on Mumsnet? I hadn't realised....
I'm far too macho for that. [Grrr...anyone see the rugby at the weekend? Grrrr....]

DrDaddy · 17/04/2007 13:23

btw - I saw that HappyDaddy has left...but didn't see why (I've not been on for a bit, see) Anyone know?

nappyaddict · 17/04/2007 13:56
