How does it feel tone in here?

I'm just pooling around on my iPad, wasting time, when I realized that Dadsnet is in the club section of mn and wondered how people felt about that?

Would it be more relevant to be in the parenting section, or does there even need to be a separate section?

Just curious, really, but it sort of feels like being a Dad is some kind of hobby group you might sign up to on a Thursday evening, when I suspect that really it's part of everyday life.

MrGin has now emailed MNHQ (Am I allowed to say that without being instantly deleted?) and is awaiting their response.

LePan · 18/08/2012 12:09

o jolly gud. Let us know what happens?

Thumbwitch · 18/08/2012 12:31

Will do - in the meantime MrGin said thanks v. much to you, FN and the others who have posted kind words about him. :)

BoreOfWhabylon · 18/08/2012 12:37

I mostly lurk, but there are some posters I always enjoy reading. Mr Gin is one of them. I do hope he will be able to come back.

hello everybody, am back in the broadband sphere

it's a shame really

if people didn't diss a whole group of posters with no provocation, slag off people who longer have a right to reply and take a pop when someone tries to (mildly, for her) say "er, is this really a good idea, wouldn't it be better if you found something else to talk about?" then some peeps wouldn't be banned now and facing the indignity of grovelling for another chance

it's personal choice, innit

LePan · 19/08/2012 19:09

oh dear AF, we've moved on.

TiggyD · 19/08/2012 19:33

Nothing ever happens in Dadsnet so I rarely check it, causing me to miss a 26 pager! Grrrrr!

Please sum up this thread in 5 words or less.

NewStartSameStory · 19/08/2012 19:35

Insanity.

Hth

LePan · 19/08/2012 19:36

You. Should. Have.Been. Here.

SigmundFraude · 19/08/2012 19:39

MNHQ's jump the shark moment.

TiggyD · 19/08/2012 19:44

Maybe there should be a text warning to us all when something kicks off?
eg: Dadsnet - FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!

LePan · 19/08/2012 19:50

That'll be once every two years Tiggy. Being on edge for that length of time wouldn't be healthy.

TiggyD · 19/08/2012 19:56

I mean over all forums.

LePan · 19/08/2012 20:01

Ask MN for a special 'rubberneckers' app. then?

AnyFucker · 19/08/2012 21:02

no, Pan, I don't think this thread has moved on tbh

for people wanting a quick precis, I think my latest post pretty much nails it

LePan · 19/08/2012 21:20

Well WTF! A woman comes over to Dadsnet and tells us what we should and shouldn't be talking about! And telling us when a thread has moved on or not! For some bloke in FWR that would be a small and noisy lynching party triggered.
no, your precis is from looking through your own prism and nowt else, if I may be so bold.
fwiw I did report your 'precis' as a touch of goading. For which others have been banned.

pan, as much as it pains you, I was right

as evidenced by who has been banned, and who has not

I have no desire to blow my own trumpet ( I guess someone has to though), but if certain departed posters had said "you are right, AF, there is no rhyme nor reason to keep dragging stuff up that happened months ago, let's forget it and move on for the sake of harmony on the boards" then we wouldn't be where we are now

< gallic shrug >

LePan · 19/08/2012 21:34

no pain involved, sweetie.

So you mean if everyone saw through your small prism then the world would be ok? Okaaaay...

AnyFucker · 19/08/2012 21:34

oh, and my post from fri that was deleted pretty much said the same thing

except it had some attacking stuff about kicktheguru which, if I hadn't been in a bit of a hurry, I would have put in a separate post (and which of course was fully deserving of a deletion)

Pan's description of what's just occurred and Maryz's summary of earlier events seems fairly accurate as to my memory of the events. I couldn't see anything wrong with what was said earlier on. But some posts had already been deleted by then.

AnyFucker · 19/08/2012 21:44

I wouldn't call "common decency" a small prism

some would

AnyFucker · 19/08/2012 21:45

report away, pan

I didn't
