How does it feel tone in here?

I'm just pooling around on my iPad, wasting time, when I realized that Dadsnet is in the club section of mn and wondered how people felt about that?

Would it be more relevant to be in the parenting section, or does there even need to be a separate section?

Just curious, really, but it sort of feels like being a Dad is some kind of hobby group you might sign up to on a Thursday evening, when I suspect that really it's part of everyday life.

Well I appear to have been banned, so I'll just use this last post before being shut down to say it's ridiculous.

All the best everyone. Take care. Love your kids.

bye

Mr Gin

Changlingz · 17/08/2012 16:35

I've just been threatened to be banned.

So I'm off as well

By parents for parents, absolute rubbish.

Ta ta.

SigmundFraude · 17/08/2012 16:36

What the hell is going on? Is this for real?

NewStartSameStory · 17/08/2012 16:40

Offs. Sorry MrG and Changlingz

LePan · 17/08/2012 16:45

Has someone at MNHQ been drinking, or snorting stuff they shouldn't be?? Why are you looking at posts as if through a bendy mirror?

Pinot · 17/08/2012 16:54

Good grief.

To be fair it wasn't the most thrilling of threads, wonder what's the back story?

THERhubarb · 17/08/2012 17:34

FFS

Perhaps, you know, perhaps the dads have a point?
How many people have now spoken out against a few that are sullying the name of the many good feminists?
The trouble is that the loud advocators of radical feminism can be aggressive and intimidating and bullying. So how many more do you think say nothing and just leave Mumsnet?

How about a stricter moderating policy?

If so many people are speaking out about this, do you not think they have a point? Ok, some may not be putting that point forward very succintly and some may fall into the trap of blaming the entire group, which I can see is not fair. But there is an obvious problem and it's not going to go away by banning people.

Deal with the problem please.

I am off away for the weekend now, so my lack of any further discussion on this thread should not be interpreted as anything more than that

have a good weekend everybody !

SigmundFraude · 17/08/2012 17:51
Hmm

I think a small group has special untouchableness, a kind of otherness that elevates them above the rest of us mere mortals. Not too sure why, as it's been covered ^

LadyBeagleEyes · 17/08/2012 17:51

I've just skimmed through this and half the posts are deleted anyway.
MrGin is on MN all the time, I've never seen him sayanything worth a ban.
I agree with AF of what I've read of kicktheguru's posts.
Agree with maryz about the Feminist board.

NicholasTeakozy · 17/08/2012 17:55

What was a pretty innocuous thread seems to have been somewhat derailed. Sad

TheDreadedFoosa · 17/08/2012 18:02

Ah well, was all getting weird and snidey. No need for any of it.

So glad you posted that about kicktheguru, AF. Fely a bit twilighty in here with others claiming to see no problem with his/her posts...

anairofhopeFORGOLD · 17/08/2012 18:18
