How does it feel tone in here?

I'm just pooling around on my iPad, wasting time, when I realized that Dadsnet is in the club section of mn and wondered how people felt about that?

Would it be more relevant to be in the parenting section, or does there even need to be a separate section?

Just curious, really, but it sort of feels like being a Dad is some kind of hobby group you might sign up to on a Thursday evening, when I suspect that really it's part of everyday life.

I think it's oft forgotten that the FWR was / is an area for discussion about femism not and are for feminists.

Changlingz · 17/08/2012 14:03

I just searched KTGs posts, she seems very innocuous.

MrGin · 17/08/2012 14:07

I think ktg was just here to stir up a bit of aggro. Good riddance.

Well reading her un-deleted posts I don't see what you mean at all.

What do you mean ? I can't see her stirring anything up.

UnquietDad · 17/08/2012 14:07

There was a stage when I was being robustly accused on the FWR of being an "MRA". I didn't even know what it was - had to ask.

NewStartSameStory · 17/08/2012 14:07

I personally would never ever ever post in the feminism section. Despite the attempts of lrd to try to convince me that it is safe to do so. I prefer to be left in one piece after my postings and not be torn apart due to my inherent inability to make myself understood in a succinct manner.

Changlingz all of us who have searched her have the same conclusions which is why the insistence that she is only out to cause trouble confuses me.

peoplesrepublicofmeow · 17/08/2012 14:09

haha, MNHQ are deleating so many posts i cant belive it!, if the truth is that a FB group was in operation why would they try to silence us from saying it.

stopping the truth from being told doesnt make it any less the truth. smacks of despotism!

Inneedofbrandy · 17/08/2012 14:11

OO conspiracy, suits the gentlemans club feel though.

anairofhopeFORGOLD · 17/08/2012 14:11

yes unquietdad, i've been accused of that, along with
cheast beating
victim blaming
what about da menz
thread derailing
being an anti-feminist
and of course showing up to show feminists how there doing it all wrong

TheDreadedFoosa · 17/08/2012 14:14

She kept saying divvy stuff about women being emotional and bitchy and bitter, and then when no one was rising to it she starteD on about how as a mum her family came before career, repeated 'jokes' about being barefoot in the kitchen etc.

Was just odd, out of synch with the rest of the thread and as though she either wanted you all to join in and agree so she could sit back and enjoy the ensuing bunfight or she genuinely thought thats the kind of shit that makes you popular in Dadsnet.

anairofhopeFORGOLD · 17/08/2012 14:15

Shit invasion everyone grab your OFRS and head to HMS Stratters. This way ->

I still don't see what you mean TheDreadedFoosa .

Maybe I'm thick or maybe men just take stuff on the surface and don't dig around for hidden meanings. < shrugs >

She posted, we read. There certainly isn't anything in her posts that warrant a banning. We're all adults not impressionable children.

SigmundFraude · 17/08/2012 14:30

I think it was probably the bit where she said she went on the parenting threads with the sole purpose of winding them up. You aren't warned that you're about to be banned either.

MrGin · 17/08/2012 14:32

Oh well . Life goes on ( again )

NewStartSameStory · 17/08/2012 14:33

Was it her that said that Sigmund? I thought it was a little oot but isn't that what a lot of people do with fightclub AIBU? Go to provoke, rant and shout a bit?

NewStartSameStory · 17/08/2012 14:34

Did it ever stop MrGin?

SigmundFraude · 17/08/2012 14:41

I think it was, I could be wrong. Admitting to winding people up was a tad daft! MNHQ seem to be tightening up rules almost to the point of moderation..lots of report happy posters around though.

MrGin · 17/08/2012 14:43

I think I feel a song coming on...

anairofhopeFORGOLD · 17/08/2012 14:45

Bugger i said i wind op up but only on the threads that i know will get deleted such as thread with 'sadface' in!

I think to post negativly about cosleeping and extended bf was a bit off but if thats her opioin fine (tho i disagree)

I feel slightly guilty now :(

MrGin · 17/08/2012 14:47

I think saying you're winding people up ( possibly in jest ) and doing so are two different things. Looking at her posting habits I don't really see it.

But who knows, sample reading her previous posts does not reveal a troll or goader.

MrGin · 17/08/2012 14:50

Sockpuppet is a possibility I suppose.

Changlingz · 17/08/2012 14:51

Ah. Yes a sock-puppet. Be interesting to see if someone else has disapeared.
