My DH and I have started going to the theatre Saturday matinees more regularly now our kids are older teens and we can leave them home alone on Saturday afternoons!!

We have booked Dracula so far as Australian friends have raved about it but wondering what else is coming out that people are excited about?

If anyone can get tickets for Our Town at The Rose in Kingston, I would highly recommend it.
Michael Sheen is absolutely mesmerising as The Stage Manager but the whole production was beautiful. The movement coach Jess Williams deserves the highest accolades. The movement of every person on stage is as beautiful and lyrical as the words they speak. It really was a pleasure to watch.

Thanks, that was the push I needed to book it!

@FollowSpot @SnowFrogJelly and anyone else who was interested the RSC has released some further tickets (as at 2nd March 2026) for Branagh in The Tempest. Looks like there are about 20 - 30 per show so if you are interested I wouldn't wait.

Thank you for this! Looks like aside from a few tickets right at the front of the stalls, they've released tickets for the Upper Circle restricted side view seats. Anyone been in these previously and can say whether it's worthwhile?

FollowSpot · 02/03/2026 20:48

THANK YOU!

I dashed out in the interval of a.n.other show to get a signal in the foyer and booked a Tempest ticket!

DrMadelineMaxwell · 02/03/2026 21:24

I enjoyed the staging of Our Town. Very clever use of minimal props.

FollowSpot · 03/03/2026 00:33

Very excited, @rumtumtuggeris

Ticket sorted, overnight stay in a pub sorted, got to get back to London for the Grace Pervades matinee the following day!

I MUST stop buying theatre tickets. I am now so good at getting cheap tix that I just can't resist a bargain!

You are welcome @FollowSpot you've reminded me that I meant to book a ticket for Grace Pervades.

@Undergroundovergroundwomblingfree oh gosh I could sense the build to an emotional second half but was not expecting to sob silently for 30 mins!

Cowsontheloose · 03/03/2026 22:55

We're off to see here and now in april and 2.22 in june

MakeTeaNotWar · 04/03/2026 05:55

I’m going to All My Sons tonight, looking forward to it. Then to Barnum on Saturday!

It was so cleverly staged as well, so simple but so moving.

JennyWreny · 05/03/2026 11:28

I loved All My Sons on Saturday and the standing wasn't too bad at the time, but afterwards and the following couple of days my knees were really suffering. Tempted to go and see The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry if I can get a rush ticket on Saturday.

FollowSpot · 05/03/2026 12:27

I so did not need to see The Book of Mormon! But thankfully only paid £20 for the ticket. I am addicted to getting bargain tickets - got a £10 Friday Rush ticket for Man and Boy at the NT a couple of weeks ago, and then panicked about whether I actually wanted to see it. And then was glad I had.

Upcoming:
Summerfolk - NT
Ukraine Unbroken - Arcola
Teeth.n.Smiles
Liason Dangereuse
Inter Alia
My Uncle is not Pablo Escobar - Brixton House
The Tempest - RSC
Grace Pervades

OMG this has made my day. I keep checking and hadn't seen this. Will be strange to have the view from the side / stage end but VERY excited.

I last saw Brannagh in the RSC in Hamlet when I was 17! Back before they changed to being in the round.

Placestogo · 05/03/2026 17:25

What is a rush ticket?

LIZS · 05/03/2026 17:48

Priority booking for Billy Elliot opens tomorrow and general sale from Monday

Undergroundovergroundwomblingfree · 05/03/2026 23:23

I've just got back from watching Cynthia Erivo in Dracula. It is one of the most incredible things I've ever seen. Her performance is absolutely phenomenal. What a talented performer.

Just booked for Billy Elliot. Only 369 days to go! 😅

Silverbirchleaf · 06/03/2026 13:18

Not quite theatre, but have just decided to go to Cheltenham jazz festival and booked some concerts.

whatohwhattodo · 06/03/2026 13:33

Don’t know if anyone has seen the Hamilton news. Leslie Odom Jr is in Hamilton for a limited run over the summer.

Comefromaway · 06/03/2026 16:30

Part of me really wants to go but part of me thinks seeing Giles Terrera was the best
