The Wicker Man, Saw (stopped watching that)... will have to think of the others some more

suzywong · 28/09/2005 00:40

hello lou
I would have to list The Grudge as it was the biggest pile ofcrap I have ever had the mistfortune to buy on Sky box-office. It disturbed me greatly that it was ever released

no worries, lucy5 - you should check out Donnie Brasco if you haven't already - one of JD's best films

lou33 · 28/09/2005 02:11

hello wong

flamebat · 28/09/2005 09:19

Spursmum - DH got it for me one Christmas... probably Amazon knowing him.

SuzyWong - Which Grudge was it? The Jap version is better than bloody whiney Buffy (hate SMG, but love Buffy for some reason...). I could have done with subtitles on it - we had them speaking dubbed English, but it didn't tell you what the writing said, so we were assuming it was "Later that day" etc, and then when we watched it back with subtitles realised it was names of people!!!

flamebat · 28/09/2005 09:30

here

gothicmama · 28/09/2005 09:33

Last exit from Brooklyn (or is it To)
La Heine
One I can't name cos I can't remember
Sleeping with the enemy

Dropinthe · 28/09/2005 11:20

I like the stupid Buffy version-went to see at the pictures with 2 mates and kept jumping out of our skins!

suzywong · 28/09/2005 13:14

it was the bloody piss poor Buffy one, which was directed by the original director fgs

mummylonglegs · 28/09/2005 14:41

I thought of another one - 'Audition' a Japanese horror film from about 5 years ago I guess. Anyone see that? AGH!

flamebat · 28/09/2005 14:50

Sorry - never mean to insult people's films...

Mirage · 28/09/2005 20:55

Donnie-I was just thinking about Repulsion when I read your post.I don't know if I could ever watch it again.

So,Repulsion
Jacob's Laddder
Born on the 4th of July

Dabihp, that episode of the X Files is the worst thing I've ever seen.I was eating my tea at the time & was unable to finish it.I still feel queasy thinking about it.

Dropinthe · 29/09/2005 08:33

Spill the guts! Whats it about?

Cam · 29/09/2005 15:43

Repulsion, I remember it!

Isn't it Roman Polanski's film with Catherine Deneuve where she in the flat in London hallucinating hands coming out of the walls and has plates of gone-off food and a serious bluebottle problem?

Mirage · 29/09/2005 18:57

Repulsion is seriously disturbing.I can only vaguely remember what happened, but Catherine Deneuve plays a young woman who is alone in her flat & goes insane. She has horrible terrifying fantasies & I seem to remember something unpleasant involving a rabbit.

Cam,I'd forgotten about the rotting food ect.It truely was a horrible film!

Cam · 30/09/2005 13:20

Yes that Roman Polanski's not normal is he

suzywong · 30/09/2005 13:23

yes that's on my list further down mummylonglegs

the bit where she saws off his feet with piano wire

jodee · 30/09/2005 13:26

Agree with everyone who says Don't Look Now (shudder).

Last Exit to Brooklyn, yes.

The guy with the Pinhead - can't remember the film name?

mummylonglegs · 30/09/2005 15:24

Oh, Suzy, yes, I remember it so horribly well. I was pregnant when I saw it and feeling pretty pukey anyway and I really had to look away. It was terrifying wasn't it? What is it about Japanese horror films? The original Japanese Ring is pretty affecting too.

I never found Repulsion a problem actually, I thought it was quite a beautiful film. Haven't seen it in years though.

Cam · 30/09/2005 17:39

did we see the same film mummyll?

Agree that Catherine Deneuve was beautiful but the gone-off rabbit?

spursmum · 30/09/2005 17:41

Why do I seem to be the only person who's not freaked by most of these films? Am I abnormal?

Dropinthe · 30/09/2005 18:15

No,we are!!

Pinhead was the man from Hellraiser.

spursmum · 30/09/2005 18:17

Bored by those films! Need something to frighten me silly. In the mood to scare myself tonight.

sparklymieow · 30/09/2005 18:19

I watched The Descent the other day (a mates copy tut tut) and that scared the life out of me.......

spursmum · 30/09/2005 18:20

OOOh whats that about sparkly? Texas chainsaw massacre bored me when I watched it the other day.

sparklymieow · 30/09/2005 18:23

6 girlfriends get together to go on 'extemre sport' holidays, they go to a cave, whcih they think is one that had been found before and has a guidebook, but one of the girls have taken them to an undiscovered, unnamed cave. While in there they discover they aren't the only things in there........
