Just short of 2000 words yesterday. I am not reading back what I have written!

Have done 1000 words so far today and will do the rest tonight when the kids are in bed. I think night time is my best time for writing but I feel panicky if I leave all 1667 until after 8pm.
When is your best time for writing?

I've done 1k as well. I'm going to try and do a bit more in a while. On the plus side, my children have signed up for NaNoWriMo too. DS is too young for the 50k challenge, so he's joined the young writer's program and is aiming for 20k while DD is aiming to do the 50k with me.

She's a little annoyed that she's only managed to do 143 words at the minute because she can't think of anything to write. I just keep telling her she's got a whole month so she shouldn't worry and DS is showing off because he's managed 102

4251 words of my dystopian future novel. Trying for 2000 words a day, so after a slow start yesterday, which was like pulling teeth it was so painful, the words flowed better today.

Morning is usually the best time for me to write, but I wasted this morning, and had to do it the afternoon.

I got a lot more done today, just under 3900 words now. Story is starting to take more shape, I was nearly in the mood to delete it this morning and start afresh, but glad I didn't.

I'm trying to write a thriller. But I fret about words and can spend an hour writing a paragraph. I'm doing NaNo to teach me to write quickly and edit later.

Hi folks, coming to join you this year again. My plan (like the last couple of years) is just to plod away solidly every day in November before I leave for work and keep my word count rising.

DH has been a star so far (fair enough, it's only day 3), and got up at 6.30am this morning to cook me pancakes before I started the day's writing.

Don't worry about editing or anything right now, just try to get the words out. My characters have spent the best part of 6k words standing in a hallway trying to wind each other up while zombies are outside eating anyone who makes a break for it. It's more dialogue than any action and I know it'd be boring as hell to a reader, never mind the fact that the grammar sucks in a major way but I'm plodding on regardless. You can do it too, honestly :)

GrendelsMum, your DH sounds like an absolute star! Mine's using the bribery route. For every 1000 words I kick out, he makes me a coffee, gets me a chocolate from the celebrations tin and gives me a cigarette. What can I say? It works

I've made some headway today and hopefully can get plently done tomorrow as well.
It's a load of rubbish, in that half it could probably be edited right out of it, lots of pointless dialogue and explaining things in far too much detail. I'm happy with the story though, feels like it's going somewhere, just taking the long route :)

Hi, people! I can't decide whether to do this or not. I'm already stretching the limits of time with my thesis in November, so I don't know when I'll be able to write anything else. But I want to Maybe it'll inspire my thesis writing as well

Have added the names that were up earlier, will do more tomorrow.

I'm finding my day slips away very easily. If I can get 500-600 words done somehow in the daytime (on the way to work, or at lunch), then it's not too bad in the evening - but otherwise it feels like I have a very big hill to climb.

It's my day off work tomorrow and I suspect my son will prevent me from having any time to write until he goes to sleep. But hopefully we'll have fun together.

I have some 500 words, but still no clue about what my plot is Hopefully I'll be able to keep it up, but if not, it'll be fun just to have tried, at least. Good luck with your writing today, all of you.

When I tried to click on Helvetica from a link on someone else's friend page, I got sent to NaNo's home page, but when I tried searching for her name, clicking on her novel and then adding her, it worked.

I'll try that as the same is happening to me!

I have a cup of coffee and two hours to write. I'm hoping to get between 1500 and 2000 today.

I'm having trouble adding people too so will try MyBrain's method later.
I've only done 400 words today as life keeps getting in the way.
I'm doing blocks of 200 words, then having a little surf as a reward.

LOL that's what I do then I forget to go back to it :/
