8 teenagers in one car that crashed

So they were driving the wrong way on a motorway and crashed in to a single driver. At 5.30am. Apparently the car was stolen. I'm seeing photos on tiktok and they look to be very young.

Where the hell are the parents in this?! I'm seeing tiktoks where the families of these 8 boys are asking for prayers, etc. I wonder if they feel any shame at all?! Or is that an emotion they are unfamiliar with.

I think these parents need to be held accountable in some way... My sympathy lies entirely with the driver of the other car.

These are children. Where is your humanity? We can have sympathy for them all.

sesquipedalian · 11/08/2026 18:53

How do you know that the parents didn’t think their children were safely tucked up in bed? Or the DC had told their parents they’d gone for a sleepover with a friend when in fact they were all out and up to no good? Parents are blamed quickly enough for the sins of their children - sometimes, it’s not actually their fault.

Sympathy? They’re lucky they haven’t killed anyone. Idiots

Parents can be great and do everything right, but that doesn't mean their kids won't do things. Equally parents can be neglectful and abusive and their kid can get all As, a great career and never break a single law.
Same set of parents, daughter went to one school and got in with a bad crowd, got into drugs and involved in all sorts before overdosing. Son went to another school, lovely friends, good job and marrying an amazing woman.
Let's not always blame the parents-they can't watch them 24/7 forever.

Fromhere1 · 11/08/2026 18:59

Maybe the parents thought their kids were in bed... Perhaps I'm judging too quickly.
But I'm inclined to think they may be the same sort of parents who have kids flying around on electric scooters with no helmets, no high- Viz, etc.

Maybe the parents were frantically phoning their kids to see where they were

Or maybe not

No. Just no. Teenagers are old enough to know the rules. They could have killed the driver of the other car. Little fucking scrotes.

itsgettingweird · 11/08/2026 19:06

Yeah I also think it’s not the parents fault a lot of the time. But the parents response tells us everything we need to know.

Recently someone posted on local FB about some kids doing some dangerous stuff (which could have started a serious fire in the dry fields they were in)

one of the kids parents came on and identified her 11yo. Apologised, said she’d started giving him independence before starting secondary school but reassured everyone that independence had now gone and he’d be in no fucking confusion about the amount of trouble he’s in.

I was pleased to see such a positive response to her.

These kids are believed to be members of the "Lucky Dip" gang of car thieves who operate all over the country, mostly, if not all teenagers. Yes parents should be aware of where their kids are at 5am or whatever time it was, but you'll probably find that they have problems of their own. Being juveniles, they will get slaps on wrists and out again to keep the robbing going.

DS had a birthday sleepover once. I was woken by the police at 4 am who had two of the boys with him - they had climbed out of the window and were on their scooters on the A road a couple of miles away. Everyone else in the house was asleep. One mother blamed me ....
I would have heard the door!
So yes, it's terrible but kids don't always think and parents done always know.

WildGarlicSoup · 11/08/2026 19:21

You know absolutely nothing about the circumstances that resulted in this.

Shame on you.

Goinganonforthis · 11/08/2026 19:22

These kids have been dragged up, I don't care what age they are. Parents are well used to them being out and robbing cars etc. Parents are pure scum also. And yes, I will judge. If they drove into anyone belonging to me, by driving a car they stole down the wrong side of the motorway, I'd be absolutely gunning for them. They need juvenile detention at the very least. Unfortunately it's probably too late for these, as they've been born into it.

How was it not your fault? If your son was raised to respect you and understand the consequences of his (or his friends’) actions he would have woken you up long before the police were at your door.

We do. They stole a car and then crashed it. They are teens who break the law and inflict anti social behaviour on normal law abiding people.

Our relative was killed by a group of teens that stole a car and decided to go for a joyride. It was horrendous for our family. I have no sympathy for the bastards who steal cars and end up injured themselves.

darkoftheloon · 11/08/2026 19:32

They could have killed the other driver who is only in his 20's himself. As it is he has serious injuries. I have absolutely no time or sympathy for these disgusting arseholes driving the wrong way on a motorway. The parents are probably no good either.

I am so sorry that happened to you.

We don’t know what the parents knew, though. We don’t know anything about them or what they had done or how they feel. The OP has said the parents should be ashamed. The blame doesn’t lie with the parents.

Is there an innocent explanation for being in a stolen car, uninsured, driving, presumably, without a licence, on the wrong side of the road, with a dangerous number of passengers, and hitting a driver who had done nothing wrong, @WildGarlicSoup?

If her ds was asleep and didn’t hear them leave either …….?

That’s the point, isn’t it? We don’t know! I doubt these kids informed their parents of it.

The IT says the Guards were following them and theyd been spotted across South Dublin. It's thought that they deliberately went down the wrong ramp in order to shake off pursuit. The Guards won't chase people into dangerous situations...
One of the kids is reported to be in critical condition. Crazy stuff, those parents are suffering for their kids actions.

bittertwisted · 11/08/2026 19:49

Honestly has anyone ever been a teenager? Would you have the same judgement for the 4 Shrewsbury boys who died? I agree that they have more than likely been parented badly, and as the mum of 3 sons I wholly support a limit on the number allowed in a car when young. My boys have insurance trackers on their car, it monitors speed, phone use, and passenger numbers

Rondayvu · 11/08/2026 20:09

I think we have all been teenagers strangely enough considering you cannot miss years out of your childhood to get to adulthood. These little scrotes are known for doing stuff like this for shits and giggles on tiktok. They are badly raised and surrounded by other badly raised little shitebags. Yes I know where they are from as I am from Dublin myself. The world over there are little scumbags like this raised by bigger bloody scumbags. I do not feel sorry for their parents I feel revulsion at their lack of parenting and feel wholy sorry for the lone man who is the victim of all of this.

Shrewsbury by all accounts is not a place I would visit going on things I know about the place but it is a place in a different country with different policing methods to here in Ireland so not really seeing how you can link the two.
