Hi Craicnetters!

I was looking for the other thread and see it's fallen way down the list so I decided to make a new one for all our daily musings ☘️

Happy Easter everyone.

DH and myself checked in to our hotel a short while ago and have been upgraded to a suite and there was a platter of cakes waiting for us. It's our 35th wedding anniversary today and we're staying in the hotel we had our wedding reception.

JaneJeffer · 20/04/2025 17:33

Congratulations @honeyriderthe weather isn’t too bad in the west today!

That’s our motto in these parts

I'm staying in Galway until Thursday morning and then flying from Shannon to Malaga with two of my sisters then flying back Sunday evening. DH is going home on Tuesday and I'll stay with one of my sisters.

Very nice! Wishing you a very happy 35th wedding anniversary!

Also got complimentary cocktails and a bottle of wine with our dinner

Someone seems to have adjusted the weather. Possibly Joanna Donnelly.

JaneJeffer · 01/05/2025 15:36

I preferred it when there was a good chance of getting burned to a crisp Sad

Very funny 😄😄
I never remember feeling so warm on the 1st of May before. It's 22 degrees! Scorchio, boy!!

JaneJeffer · 01/05/2025 15:59

It’s 10 degrees colder here today than it was yesterday and very windy. I nearly gave myself a black eye hanging out the washing!

I have taken off my cardigan, so very hot here.

FuzzyCaoraDhubh · 01/05/2025 17:10

It's a day for summer clothes! We're back to normal temperatures tomorrow.

honeyrider · 01/05/2025 23:50

It was hot here in the Sunny South East today, just as hot as Malaga when I was there at the weekend.

LadyEloise1 · 02/05/2025 14:14

There was a cool breeze where I was in Dublin.
It’s there again today 🙄

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 02/05/2025 14:23

Yep, the feckin wind ruining it for us as usual. I was sitting in a sun trap earlier and it was gorgeous but soon as I left it I got blown away! The weeks seem to be speeding up now, I think Easter being later has that effect. I'm not complaining, looking forward to another long weekend Grin Enjoy it folks

DeanElderberry · 09/05/2025 17:14

Blistering heat here in the mid west, desperate for a drop of rain. Nice though.

What's Joe Duffy going to be doing next? Quiet well-earned retirement, writing a kiss-and-tell memoir, or getting ready for a run at the Áras?

LadyEloise1 · 09/05/2025 18:32

I thought perhaps a run at the Áras.

eggandonion · 09/05/2025 18:35

I wonder who will run? I thought rte was quite strict on retirement ages.

I think Joe Duffy was a 'freelancer' not an RTÉ employee, so he can retire whenever and can even magically re-appear...

The uni I worked in had a few cases of senior lecturers retiring - whip-around. prezzie, card, party, speeches, the works.. and then they reappeared the very next week as hourly-paid free-lance part-timersConfused
We used to call them 'The UnDead'😃
