Hi Craicnetters!

I was looking for the other thread and see it's fallen way down the list so I decided to make a new one for all our daily musings ☘️

15s are my favourite. The first time I had one I was in love, I still love 15's. Fabulous with a cup of tea. I only found them when I moved up North

eggandonion · 13/07/2024 22:30

FuzzyCaoraDhubh · 14/07/2024 00:30

It's lovely in between the showers ;)
Yes, it's definitely chilly.

UtopiaPlanitia · 14/07/2024 00:46

Armagh v Kerry today was a fantastic game - nail biting stuff. Hoping that Donegal v Galway is also exciting.

My DH won VIP hospitality tickets to today's match and he took my adult DS1 with him as he lives in Dublin. They had a great time and got a photo with the Sam Maguire trophy.

It was a mighty match

That sounds like a great day out and a lovely memory for them to share, honeyrider.

It was especially as they were neutrals watching the match. DH will be home tonight so he can spend the day with DS1.

Hi Mumsnet how can I get access to Talk I'm struggling to chat with folk

Hi LakeIsle48, I'm going to try to be helpful here, but I'm not sure I will be as I don't know why you can't access Talk - I'll have a go anywaySmile
You're obviously already on one Talk thread, Craicnet. To find all the other Talk threads, go up to the top of the screen, to the blue stripe running across the top, and click on 'Talk' there, it'll bring you to all the other topics.
There's another 'Talk' below the blue stripe which is less useful, maybe you clicked on that and it got you nowhere. Go for the one in the blue stripe.
Does that help?
Hope you find you way around and start getting into lots of interesting discussions!

FuzzyCaoraDhubh · 15/07/2024 10:45

@LakeIsle48 if you are thinking of talking to people in real time, this board doesn't quite work like that. It's more like a notice board where you pin up your message and people may reply to you at a later stage. Apologies if I'm wrong and this isn't the issue.

Ha! Interesting 🧐
Yikes though. Pieces of rubber in Taytos!

eggandonion · 16/07/2024 13:57

Wow!

JaneJeffer · 16/07/2024 14:02

There was a batch recalled recently because a golf ball had been dug up with the potatoes and pieces of it got processed into the crisps. I wonder if the rubber is from the same ball.

Oh! I didn't click in on the images and missed the important bit. Embarrassing for someone (there was poster on another board who knew deep and knowledgeable things about whisky, and would tell us which expensive brands of Scotch were being retailed as Lidl's own brand).

That would be interesting to know which brands.

Strange! Seems Aldi Spuddy's crisps are made by Tayto @deeahgwitch

The whiskys varied - he said that clearly over-supply was sold on to Lidl on the understanding that they put their own label on it, but that an experienced taster would recognise it.

I've heard someone (can't remember who) speak well of their own-brand whiskey also - sadly I am an un-connoisseur, only imbibe the stuff with lemon and sugar, either with cloves and hot water in raw winter weather, or baked with bananas and served with cream or ice cream.

Apileofballyhoo · 18/07/2024 22:30

Back on MN after a longish absence and this thread popped up in active the other day so I've been having a read! There's a code or something on the own brand products you can compare to the branded ones. I used to get Rosie and Jim type chicken in Aldi and one day I think I saw it on here that you could check and sure enough the Aldi chicken was made by them - using EU chicken instead of Irish. But I think their branded stuff is EU chicken now. I also checked the Aldi double caramel Magnum type things at the time as they were just as nice as the real ones. But they had a different code. Aldi have new ones this year that aren't as nice, but Lidl have good ones. I haven't seen the actual Magnum ones anywhere though they have loads of different flavours now, some of which sound awful. Popcorn and something, for one. I think there was a whole thread about this a few years ago. The own brand products, I mean, not a Magnum flavours thread.

I asked someone recently who used to work in a food packaging plant and they said they packaged up stuff for a few brands and own brands but it was all the same stuff.

DeanElderberry · 21/07/2024 18:19

That was exciting but gosh they are going to be knackered when the adrenaline wears off.

Both 'the next county' but the Banner is the one I can see from my upstairs window so I had slight partiality. Awesomeness all round.
