I’m watching RTE news. They mentioned the Garda representatives organisation are concerned about Gender Identity in the workplace. It’s been brought in without consultation & without training.

the Garda Commissioner has said that Garda may be disciplined for misgendering.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Hopefully a few big lawsuits will arise. I'm so glad people are waking up. It's quite distressing the lack of attention the Irish mainstream media have given to the Cass report. Gript gave a breakdown of what publications gave it a mention but it wasn't front page news by any means... The media here have been well & truely captured & paid off...

miri1985 · 12/04/2024 04:28

I think a lot of people in the HSE and politics owe Dr. Donal O'Shea an apology. He held the line that this wasn't safe and evidence based and was pilloried by TRA's and their organisations.

Checked twitter and can't find any statements from Government politicans on the Cass report, not the Minister for Health or Minister for Children or Minister for education have made any comment on it. Likely they'll get away with just ignoring it too because the Irish media have been mostly just as complicit in all of this

VoteNONO · 12/04/2024 08:46

@miri1985 thanks for that. Disgusted at the INTO making no comment.

It's shocking in this day & age children are being allowed believe a false narrative, innocent bystanders are forced to go along with it, punished & excluded if they question or refuse to play along with the charade...

Children are being pumped with chemicals & hormones whose effects are irreversible..

Children are having their breasts & penis multilated in the name of this ideology..

All the while caregivers, governments, teachers unions, social workers, doctors, surgeons, pharmaceutical companies stand back aiding & abbetting this abuse & mutilation. No debate.

The transing of children is one of the greatest tragedies of this ere & Ireland is up to its neck in it.
A prime example the media black out (more or less) on reporting on the Cass report..

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 12/04/2024 09:01

I sometimes wonder about those letters to The Times. Maybe it's their way of writing what needs to written but without having to take any responsibilty for it - a reader said that, not us. Hmm... Either way, yes the silence is shocking. If the report had lauded the success of puberty blockers and gender-affirming care you can be damn sure it would've been front page news 🙄

VoteNONO · 12/04/2024 09:07

I think it's fair to say that the Irish media may be getting large payoffs from the pharmaceutical companies. The mainstream media is already funded heavily by the government. It is pure censorship. Every parent, caregiver & educator in the country should be very clear as to what is the Cass report.

DeanVolecapeAKAelderberry · 12/04/2024 09:26

I suspect that Big Pharma is hugely influential at every level in Ireland. It's one of our biggest industries, a key driver of our economic success and it's never going to let the politicians forget what side their bread is buttered on. Money talks.

That was a great letter, very pithy. And you're right, many people do write better and articulate the truth more succinctly that those in the job.

Villagetoraiseachild · 12/04/2024 09:40

Agreed@VoteNONO and @DeanVolecapeAKAelderberry .
We need some brave new journalists to expose these scams.

DeanVolecapeAKAelderberry · 12/04/2024 09:42

The Village would be my best hope for that.

StephanieSuperpowers · 12/04/2024 09:47

I think the village has nailed its colours to the RA RA mast. I don't think they see any reason to step too far out of the line of accepted opinion among their readership.

Many people don't like it but Gript are extremely GC & are covering this. Their followers have increased healthily since the referendum.
As said up thread The Indo is improving & getting slightly more centered..
The Ditch have also covered in the past.

VoteNONO · 12/04/2024 10:02

I actually follow the lady who wrote the Irish Times letter on Twitter, Sandra Adams..
Her page is worth a follow, she's also a spokeswoman for The Countess.

I know @VoteNONO . I used to be very particular myself about only reading or watching news from what I considered to be reputable sources. That time has passed, too many captured, towing a party line or house style.

Now I keep a closer eye on individual journalists rather than organisations.
Andrew Doyle is also reliable and brave on these issues, I have found.

Iloveshihtzus · 12/04/2024 11:05

I already posted on the thread on TV coverage of the Cass report that Aiden Kelly is a psychologist and yet he was clinical lead in the Tavistock (here in Ireland you can’t be clinical lead or prescribe medication as a psychologist- even a clinical one !!). He is also clinical lead in his new clinic 🙄. I’m a qualified psychologist and we have no biomedical training. I also agree with the video on the quackery of psychology ( I work in research now, never worked as a therapist).

VoteNONO · 12/04/2024 11:32

@Iloveshihtzus so Aiden Kelly basically has his own agenda. It's so obvious why the mainstream media are giving the likes of him airtime, they are well & truely bankrolled by these pharma corporations..
From your point of view @Iloveshihtzus do you feel the rise of transing kids has increased 10 fold since the pandemic? I mean the amount of time children spent on social media, chatrooms etc must have been a contributing factor?

Farmageddon · 12/04/2024 11:41

I'm actually so grateful to the Gript for investigating this - why the hell aren't mainstream newspapers doing the same?

VoteNONO · 12/04/2024 11:42

So much uproar about the enhanced games.. Surely transwomen are enhanced "women".. Why are they still in women's sports & how did they get there in the first place?
Surely this is an argument that must be used now we have a seperate games for "enhanced" athletes as trans "women" are enhanced with every advantage possible.

Farmageddon · 12/04/2024 11:41

Because the mainstream media recieve government funding. And the government don't want any attention drawn to this as it is against their agenda. They are basically owned by the big pharma companies who are making puberty blockers here in Ireland.
Helen McEntees husband is CEO of one.
I feel Gript are reaching a lot of people they wouldn't have reached last year so hopefully the messages are getting out there.
The level of censorship in this country is horrific & the burying of the Cass report is just another example.

Farmageddon · 12/04/2024 11:51

I've just realised this article is from 2021, however if you search on the ICGP website under Library, and use the term Transgender there is still a listing for this document - although you have to log in to be able to access it. I would be interested to know whether it's still available....

VoteNONO · 12/04/2024 11:52

Ahh sorry @Farmageddon it popped up on my twitter, assumed it was today

No worries, I think it's a really important article. It would just be interesting to know if the ICGP actually removed it properly or snuck it back in when we weren't looking.

Dishwasherdisaster · 12/04/2024 16:52

I think it's fair to say that the Irish media may be getting large payoffs from the pharmaceutical companies.

I don't think it's fair to say this actually.
Or this.

They ( the government) are basically owned by the big pharma companies who are making puberty blockers here in Ireland.

Yeah, pharmaceutical companies are big business in Ireland and are very influential.
But you are talking about a whole different level of corruption if you're talking about paying off the media to ensure their silence.

Much of the silence is simply down to the fact that most people were/are afraid to seem bigoted. That silences people pretty fast especially if they financially can't afford to speak up because their career depends on them saying the 'right' things.

People keep their heads down for an easy life even when they shouldn't. Nothing new there and no brown envelopes needed.

Thank you to those who spoke up.
