The best method of getting the duvet cover on is getting someone else to do it I find @eggandonion

I'm not bad at that, probably because I'm small enough to nearly climb inside!
Jane 😅

eggandonion · 05/12/2022 12:47

I pay someone else to cut my grass and hedge, i pay for someone else to clean windows outside. Id happily pay for a duvet person, and a stair hooverer, and a kitchen floor mopper. And a shower cleaner who wiggles out the awkward bits.
I dislike cleaning the oven and defrosting the freezer.
Domestic goddess!

JaneJeffer · 05/12/2022 13:05

I think I have short arms. It's such a struggle Grin
I don't bother ironing it though. That's a step too far.

I iron it so I can pretend I am in a hotel when I finally go to bed. A hotel with staff who aren't great at duvet stuffing.
Id also like fluffy white towels and a fluffy white bathrobe to swan around in first.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 05/12/2022 16:32

Fair play to you @eggandonion no ironing of duvet covers in my house, that's a bridge too far for me!

My god its cold today, and set to get colder this week I hear. I don't mind the cold as long as the rain stays away. Half my house are sick at the moment, I'm praying I don't come down with it too. Doc said its rampant and that it's viral so they just have to suffer on with the sore throat and crazy temperatures, no antibiotics!

Igglepiggleslittletoe · 05/12/2022 17:34

It is baltic. YOu can really feel the change in the weather now.

eggandonion · 05/12/2022 18:33

The rain is not staying away. Its cold. And gloomy.

JaneJeffer · 06/12/2022 15:03

I seem to have a problem with books I ordered disappearing in the postal system. Where are they going to?

OP posts:
eggandonion · 06/12/2022 15:53

If they are coming from the uk they could be anywhere. You can usually ask your local bookshop to order at a similar price. They are often faster too.

halfpasteleven · 12/12/2022 12:12

Hope everyone is warm. The roads are treacherous and an orange alert for fog. Stormy weather by next Sunday though.

Igglepiggleslittletoe · 12/12/2022 12:43

Cosy at home working with the heating on, my ugg boots and an oodie. I look only gorgeous as you can imagine.

Roads this morning dropping to school were a nightmare and it was foggy. Hate winter. Bring back summer!

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 12/12/2022 12:50

I am definitely over this cold snap.

halfpasteleven · 14/12/2022 03:59

Has anybody else got this rotten cold/cough virus that is going?

Did a Covid test and it was negative, went to doc and it's viral so couldn't give me anything but it's so hard to shake.

Chesty cough, head full of snot and throat starting to get sore. Feel so tired from it all and still have Christmas bits and pieces to sort..

Hopefully the cold snap will kill off these germs.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 14/12/2022 07:29

Get well soon halfpast. A friend of mine has it, an awful dose. A kind of viral bronchitis.

eggandonion · 14/12/2022 08:27

Yesterday I heard of four people with covid. I wonder if people have it so mildly they dont test, but it lets those other germs in.
Can a clever person link this to a new thread?

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 14/12/2022 11:04

Who knows what is wafting around! I'd say many people aren't testing. My DD and I had it recently. It was like a head cold for her and sore throat and aches and pains for me.

I looked back on the first page of this thread. It's going back to this time last year when we got our first booster jab and Omicron had landed.

Igglepiggleslittletoe · 14/12/2022 11:06

I was sicker after the booster than I was with covid itself.
