Yes. Absolutely wild here. No chance of hanging out washing today. It would end up in Mizen Head!!

Igglepiggleslittletoe · 02/11/2022 12:15

It is bloody freezing in work. No amount of heaters are working and that rain...

Joolsin · 02/11/2022 13:17

Was planning to go for a walk in the Botanic Gardens today. Not happening now. Stupid rain!

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 02/11/2022 14:25

Ugh what a day. I was so uneasy driving to work this morning, huge high-sided trucks on the motorway that I was passing and I was in a panic that they'd blow over on top of me!

I'm really trying to up my water intake but I find it so hard in this weather. Think I might try green tea again although I never really like it. Bit easier to drink hot drinks and as much as I'd love to have a coffee on the go 24/7 I know it's not good for me!

Try this one, @LifeInAHamsterWheel I get it in SuperValu. It's nicer than green tea. I also drink lukewarm boiled water.

It has eased off a bit now. Still wild, but not as bad and the rain has stopped.

Ooh I've never even heard of white tea! I'll certainly give it a go, thanks 😊

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 02/11/2022 20:52

It's more like a light black tea, rather than a green tea. It's low in caffeine.

Igglepiggleslittletoe · 03/11/2022 07:16

Never knew white tea was a thing. Must look into it.

Christ but it is depressing to wake up to another dull and rainy morning. Even the dogs have stopped jumping out of their beds to greet me, they just sit there till I come to them now.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 03/11/2022 08:51

November has well and truly arrived.

Re the white tea. You can reuse the teabags (frugal!). It's a very nice brand, Lily's Tea.

eggandonion · 03/11/2022 14:16

I wouldn't mind cold if it wouwould just stop raining. Even for a few days.

JaneJeffer · 03/11/2022 14:21

@Igglepiggleslittletoe my dog looks at me like I can't believe you expect me to go out in that Grin

Suns out here today. Fabulous day. Going to harness up the dogs and head off out and get the kids some air while at it. They are currently muttering what I do believe are obscenitites under their breath at me as I forced them out of bed. Kids are great fun all the same...

LadyEloise1 · 06/11/2022 13:09

Does anyone know are the HSE still sending texts saying you are a close contact and to test- with a link ?
My dm got one and we weren't sure if it was a scam. She's had all her vaccines/boosters.

JaneJeffer · 06/11/2022 13:28

Id say it's a scam @LadyEloise1 I don't think the HSE are doing PCR testing anymore.

BIL told us last week that he heard there was a hse scam text going around re close contacts. I think I'd ignore it to be on the safe side

LadyEloise1 · 06/11/2022 14:26

Thank you. She deleted the text.

JaneJeffer · 07/11/2022 15:02

The booster reminder text made me laugh "Jane age 54, keep well this winter." OK I'll try.

That's hilarious 😅and why not add;

Take a good multivitamin to combat colds and flu. 😁

JaneJeffer · 07/11/2022 15:16

Grin it doesn't work Fuzzy I had a cold in September so I started taking berocca immuno and ended up with Covid in October!

Then to madden me further I went to order some Metatone tonic, because it really helps me after illness, to find it's been taken off the market Angry

Noooo Jane😔

Igglepiggleslittletoe · 12/11/2022 18:52

Anyone else feel it is unseasonably warm for November? I am not complaining but over the years when I have said I am cold and been advised to 'put on another jumper' I have rolled my eyes but currently another jumper (one of the kids oodies to be honest) is doing the job fairly well. Pissed off I am working of a Saturday night but I am warm doing it.

honeyrider · 12/11/2022 19:25

It is unseasonably warm, I went to the Ireland v Fiji rugby match in the Aviva today and didn't feel cold.

I heard a gardener on the radio this week and he said summer plants are flowering again and to wait until January to prune things.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 14/11/2022 09:40

Yes, very unusually warm, its so odd. I too noticed the plants, we still have some lovely flowers in ours! I'm not complaining - except at night when the sweats hit and then I'm cursing it Hmm We have the heating on but it's not on full whack and only for a few hours. Long may it continue! If only the rain would stay away too....

honeyrider · 14/11/2022 10:39

I was walking around Dublin yesterday and people were in t-shirts and I had to keep asking my son if he felt warm as I was thinking I must be having hot flushes.

Vicky Phelan has died, may she RIP.

Igglepiggleslittletoe · 14/11/2022 10:43

So tragic about poor Vicky. May she rest in peace.
