Unlinked because I can't remember how to do it, and can't find Help thing.

I'm the same with buying things online. Certain stuff like books or electronic stuff is fine, but things that need to fit in somewhere or even just fit me in rubbish with.

I really need a winter coat as my old one is on it's last legs. Well official it was last winter and now is just on no legs.

But I need to try stuff on, especially a coat - I mean, what's the hood like? what size to get with layers underneath!!!!?

It's a minefield.

SionnachRua · 11/02/2021 16:04

I hate shopping online tbh. I have oneforall gift cards coming out my ears right now (class gifts from last summer and Christmas) but with their €50 spend limit, I really can't be arsed.

eggandonion · 11/02/2021 16:09

I also hate online shopping and I'm really annoyed about all the shops closing especially Debenhams which was where I bought things for going to weddings. Plus I could drag dh in there with a bribe of a cinema trip in mahon, he hates shopping.
Returns can be easy or massively complicated. Grrr.
Its still raining, I have a dog who is refusing to go for a walk.

There's an option to virtually 'see' the rug in your room on the Harvey Norman website. You upload a photo of your room and the rug is in it! Very clever! So after playing with that for a while, I decided to buy it. Fingers crossed the colours look like I think they do!

Clothes are very hard to buy online unless it's a brand you know well. Things like winter coats are big purchases (in my opinion) so need to be able to try on. Doesn't sound like we'll be doing any non-essential shopping before 12th April now does it. We'll all be like something from an apocalyptic movie when things open up again!! We'll be coming out of our houses all bleary eyed, long hair, roots, last years clothes, blinking in the sun (there's sun in my daydream!!) and looking at other people like they're aliens Grin

SionnachRua
What I do with my One4all is use them for household shopping in SuperValu or Marks or Tesco and then spend their value with my credit card on something I'd like iykwim.

It's a pity Dunnes doesn't accept them.

JaneJeffer · 11/02/2021 18:33

Just looking at the UTV weather man saying look at the difference between Cork and NI on the map Confused does he expect the weather to be the same on the whole island?

The snow has finally reached the West.

eggandonion · 11/02/2021 18:52

By the time we get back to Penney's the clothes will be the right season, a whole year of bikinis not needed. All the Christmas cards are still locked behind the shutters of our local card shop.
Super valu is busy selling valentine's cards and flowers while the card shop is closed, and the florists.

To add to the woes of clothes buying, I've put on a lot of weight. I know what size I used to be but can't be sure now other than it's not what it was.

I'm too fed up to diet. I just want chocolate.

eggandonion · 11/02/2021 20:33

I made healthy blueberry muffins earlier, and they are not delicious. I have ingredients for a chocolate cake, and a bag of giant chocolate buttons to shove on top.
I'm cross with leo, he's threatening me. I'm cross with the vaccine, all of it.

OP posts:
Carriemac · 11/02/2021 20:53

My 86 year old dad has a go
Appointment for the vaccine! Hurray !

TurquoiseBaubles · 11/02/2021 21:15

My parents (89 and 87) have finally got a vaccine appointment next week.

I still won't be able to visit them (5k limit) but maybe my brother will.

I have massive sympathy to those who are stuck at home with family demands, but I miss my kids (in UK and Aus, and unable to come home) and really want to be able to travel to see them. But at the rate vaccinations are going it will be next year Sad.

I used to love Leo; now I'm not so sure, he keeps giving me bad news.

That is a good idea! Unfortunately I'm a Dunnes and Aldi girl Grin But I could be persuaded to change my ways.

I think I might have to order a physical gift card to do it though (they are e cards). Must look into it now.

Iblinkedandiamold · 11/02/2021 22:31

Alexa told me it was snowing she lied, now she is saying it wont snow tonight. It's the battle of the storms, will the windy cold weather winter will the snow clinch it at the last minute. Will have to wait till the morning to find out.

MaudebeGonne · 12/02/2021 09:05

Super snowy in Westport! I have to work but the kids will enjoy it I hope. Makes a change for them anyway.

Iblinkedandiamold · 12/02/2021 09:53

I woke up to go to the toilet at around 6.30, there was a little bit of snow. When I got up at 9 there was not a trace. If I didnt see the little traces of snow left, I would've thiugh I dreamt it.

Ballygowenwater · 12/02/2021 10:19

There’s not a hope of snow here we’ve just had a full on storm last night.

eggandonion · 12/02/2021 10:28

Cold, wet, gloomy here, and a wet week forecast. I tidied a shelf, I have 12 rolls of parcel tape, masking tape and similar. I need to keep out of lidl.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 12/02/2021 10:45

No snow here either but it's super windy, and freezing. My app is still showing 100% snow overnight and tomorrow. We'll see. It's also showing rain every day from Sunday onwards, that'll make the mid term break great craic altogether...

Iblinkedandiamold · 12/02/2021 10:59

@eggandonion better be careful, I'm watching Hoarders and that's how it starts. Grin
Very windy here too today.

eggandonion · 12/02/2021 11:57

I spent a couple of hours collecting screwdrivers from places people had put them down. Not putting things away is a problem here, then finding the original of the thing I have bought another of.
We have a hoarder nearby, his son visits. He has a little dog, so is out and about, but the hoarding is sad.

Careful now, egg and step away from the Middle Aisle of Temptation in Lidl.
Mid-term break, thankfully, and a break from lessons with the ten year old. It's hard going, sometimes. I feel my Mental Maths is coming along well, however.
The weather has been shocking in the deep south. Cold, windy, persistently heavy rain and altogether very, very grey.

eggandonion · 12/02/2021 14:41

The new discount shop though...I'm sure I need stuff from there. If Aldi comes to town my house will be a true Aladdins cave.

OP posts:
IsFuzzyBeagMise · 12/02/2021 15:24

I haven't been into the new shop yet, egg (probably just as well!)

halfpasteleven · 12/02/2021 15:33

It's mad how when I'm walking past the middle aisle I realise how much I already have (Aldi middle aisle that is!)
I can't wait to light the st
