Unlinked because I can't remember how to do it, and can't find Help thing.

Much better today, sun is shining, not as cold.

Iblinkedandiamold · 10/02/2021 10:57

Oh my gosh, my cushions arrived from Guiney's today. Oh the excitement. They are in the wash at the moment. Grin

eggandonion · 10/02/2021 12:33

Living the dream!
I nipped to Dunnes and bought some coffee, chocolate and milk . So I can survive if it snows.
And I'm keeping the heat on low all day. This is what passes for news.

Oh eggandonion, you're all set so.
I have to say the phrase of 2021 has to be. "I'm live, I'm not a cat."
So funny and embarrassing. Grin

eggandonion · 10/02/2021 14:18

Dh has lost his background apparently. Now he's scared of becoming a cat. It could be arranged.

That video is so funny. I don't know how the other two didn't crack up Grin

eggandonion · 10/02/2021 16:23

The man in the top corner was either asleep or used to it.

That video is gas, my money is on the secretary setting it up Wink

Today I have almost died of boredom. I walked 5k in the freezing cold, just couldn't have stayed out any longer I was so uncomfortable. DH works from the kitchen, DD from the living room (they're not allowed be on zoom from their bedrooms!) and DS in his bedroom on online classes most of the day. Our house is small so apart from my bedroom or the bathroom there's literally nowhere else for me to go and I can't make any noise or they all complain. I did what I could any chance I got (including cleaning the bathroom) but my god am I bored. And now Leo is warning us all not to expect too much to change come 5th March... I think I'm just having a down day. My hair needs to be done so badly. It's valentines day on Sunday and even though we'd never go out for a meal that night (everywhere is always jammed!) this year I REALLY want to go out for dinner! DS birthday is coming up. I can't believe that a year on we are in the same boat and he again can't have a party to celebrate. Mid term break next week and what the hell are we going to do with everything closed and a 5K limit in place?? Sorry for the moan but as you can tell I am fed up right now.

Carriemac · 10/02/2021 18:07

Fed up is understandable, maybe get a nice takeaway for Valentine's Day ?
Mid term is tricky , are there any activities at all you could so ? The online Harry Potter quiz or a treasure hunt ?

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 10/02/2021 18:15

I'm in SuperValu. Spent some time in the Polish aisle looking at the different food and pretending I'm on holiday.

Carriemac · 10/02/2021 18:32

😂

Joolsin · 10/02/2021 18:58

I had to take DS's laptop to be fixed today. Went to Nutgrove on the way back, it felt so strange to walk through the mall looking in windows of closed shops. All the stuff in Tiger and Art & Hobby - tantalising!!!

Ballygowenwater · 10/02/2021 19:43

I made the kids spend the day outside today. Literally turfed them out on to the beach and sat by the window with a cuppa. I cannot have them in the house anymore

Iblinkedandiamold · 10/02/2021 20:37

@Ballygowenwater my dad used to turf us out of the house too when we were left alone with him. He'd buy us treats and the kick us out and lock the doors so he could watch football in peace. Grin

eggandonion · 10/02/2021 21:44

I hope it snows a bit for the kids.
Dh had to go to his office to get some stuff so I went to. And said hello to his colleague. I also said hello to the bin man. Neither had any gossip.

I went for a 5k walk this eve too. It was so cold though- didn't warm me up at all but the fresh air helped..
It's hard to stay focused on anything for too long

halfpasteleven · 10/02/2021 21:55

Hit the post button by accident!
Feck sake!
It's hard to stay focused on anything for too long I find this week in particular.
And it feels like a long week..
Hoping for snow tomorrow for the kids sake- it will lift the monotony a bit.

Iblinkedandiamold · 10/02/2021 22:35

I dont want snow yet, it can snow at the weekend when I dont have to drive anywhere. Or snow in the morning and be gone by the time I have to go into work.

Iblinkedandiamold · 10/02/2021 22:38

Oh and my cushions look lovely on the sofa. Thanks Guineys. Grin

halfpasteleven · 11/02/2021 04:16

That's great about the cushions- I got new bed linen last week.. just makes a lovely difference to the room in general..
We gotta take the small things!!

eggandonion · 11/02/2021 11:16

Wet and windy here, no snow. Just a nasty day in February.
I feel sorry for all the young people not able to have a romantic valentine's weekend. I'm more about pancake Tuesday.

OP posts:
Iblinkedandiamold · 11/02/2021 12:44

Cant wait for pancake Tuesday. I love pancakes and a day dedicated to them is Heaven. Grin

Iblinkedandiamold · 11/02/2021 13:17

Felt great this morning when I woke up, changed my bedding, cleaned my room, did a few washes, put away the clothes, did a work. Now I have to go to work and I just want a nap. Lesson learned I think.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 11/02/2021 15:27

Yes, schoolboy error @Iblinkedandiamold you should have spread that list of jobs out over the week!!

Still absolutely bloody freezing here today, no snow or rain but gale force winds which make it really hard to walk in. I still think it would be great for the kids if the snow would come but we'll see.

My DD is a very fussy eater (major food issues) and eats pancakes at least 4 days a week so I'm not that excited about pancake Tuesday!!

I have seen what looks like a lovely rug online (Harvey Norman) and am tempted to buy it but I find it so hard to judge things like that without seeing them for real. The hassle of sending it back if it's not right. But then, the joy and novelty of something new at the moment.... I think I might just live dangerously and buy it.

Isn't it just so hard to judge certain things online? I find shoes really hard to judge - I bought runners recently and they are a little too tight but I'm going to stick with them and break them in and hope that works. If I'd seen them in a shop I'd have gotten them in the next half size up.
