lockin I got a grand sum of £14.51 in back pay today for my casual job. Hopefully yours beat that 😂 I’ll get my main job back pay next month, but it still won’t be loads

Rum when is your last day? I hope they are kind to you when it happens.

Having left an awful job last year, the relief is still huge and I still feel so grateful for my lovely new team in my new job. Sadly, I could do with working more hours though but at least it’s good to know nice employers are out there!

cuckoolodger · 30/09/2026 16:56

Another no spend day for me today, and in hoping to keep that up tomorrow too. I returned some items to Amazon that were unsuitable so when the refund hits my account I’m going to put out with my round ups and make an extra payment off my credit card to reduce the debt down bit. Hoping to be card debt free in 6 months and have the mortgage paid off in 18 months. It will all be worth it then!

Frugal25 · 30/09/2026 17:11

It will Def be worth it @cuckoolodger. You got this.

Back pay, it all adds up @Holidaysandchocolate!! So glad you're happy in your work now xxx

Love the meal plan @Lockin26i may take some for next week's plan.

Oh. Another roller coaster for mingo. The first one that went missing with royal mail has arrived my mum tells me... Which would be good as I can tell DD that a mingo friend has come to keep her other mingo company. I. Am. Not. Washing. This. One.

£3.50 today on a sarnie. Don't ask me why. I had lunch with me. Lunch today will now be lunch tomorrow.

Home now to have dinner with DD, check out the package and do a double Davina McCall workout.

RumBananaSundae · 30/09/2026 17:50

Not sure about spending today. About £9 I think in Marks and Spencer, Aldi and Sainsbury. I tried the (yellow stickered) ginger cake from Marks and Spencer. Don’t buy it. It’s odd.

Oh @DirtyGertiefromno30 you made me laugh. They are spectacular mint wafers. Barbie has arrived. She is beautiful. I’m glad I bought her. I think she’s sold out everywhere. How is your mum?

Save yourself @Frugal25. Do not buy the mint wafers. If you buy them once you’ll never be able to stop. I am putting jacket potatoes on my list. You should be a tourist in London first a day. I like doing it every now and again. Lucky Mingo.

Cheese and pickle sandwiches. Thank you for the idea @Lockin26.

Last day was today @Holidaysandchocolate. They were arseholes. I do hope I find something lovely. At this point I’d take anything.

Well done on the no spend @cuckoolodger.

Today I had leftover curry. The rest of the week will be leftover curry and vegetable pasta.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 30/09/2026 19:27

Pay day Yay @Rainbow1961 😊. Always nice to start a new months spreadsheet 😊. Hopefully you managed a NSD and stayed tucked up indoors out of that rain. It's been beautiful here but bucketed down all night 😊.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 30/09/2026 19:31

At least you’ve got some back pay coming next month @Holidaysandchocolate, even if it’s not loads. And after that awful job, I can totally see why you’re still so grateful for the new one. A nice team makes such a difference . Just a shame you need more hours, but at least you found a job with decent people and that's everything in work 😊.

OP posts:
DirtyGertiefromno30 · 30/09/2026 19:33

Another NSD, fab @cuckoolodger 😄. And putting the Amazon refund straight off the card is a good call. Six months and no card debt, then 18 months and the mortgage gone ,that’s going to feel bloody brilliant! Definitely worth it, l bet you can't wait 😁 👏

OP posts:
DirtyGertiefromno30 · 30/09/2026 19:37

At least the first Mingo has finally turned up @Frugal25! That’s really good though, you can tell DD her other Mingo has got a friend now 😂 .And definitely NOT washing this one 😂.
£3.50 on a sarnie when you had lunch with you 🤦‍♀️😂 . Ah well, lunch tomorrow sorted! Enjoy your dinner with DD and good luck with the double Davina, you’ll be knackered after that 😁👏👍

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 30/09/2026 19:47

I’m really sorry your last day was so crap and they were such arseholes @RumBananaSundae. You’ve put up with enough, and I really hope the next thing that comes along is somewhere you actually feel happy and valued. You deserve that sweetheart. ❤️
Glad Barbie has arrived and you’re pleased with her 🤗.
Mum’s been okay thank you 🤗 up and down as usual, but we’ve had some nice moments today ❤️.
I will not buy any ginger cake or mint wafers from M&S l have been warned and l can't have them anyway with this bloody Coeliacs 🤣.

Frugal25 · 30/09/2026 21:21

I'm so sorry @RumBananaSundaeyour last day wasn't great Hun. They don't deserve you. But. I'm glad you're out. You're worth so much more and now you are free to find it without them dragging you down.
I'm going to be naughty and buy the mint wafers!!!!! You can't stop me!!! Glad Barbie turned up too! I bet she is beautiful.

So glad your mum is ok @DirtyGertiefromno30 up and down we can cope with. You doing ok though too?

Mingo has joined the gang. DD immediately put them together and said "why has this one got funny fur?" Yup. Your mother washed it darling. She has gone to bed with unwashed mingo. Washed mingo has been put on my bed. I feel a bit sorry for him. I shall give him lots of hugs.
Double Davina done. Boom. I'll feel it tomorrow I'm sure.

Ooohhhh cheese and pickle sarnies. Hello. That's a bit of me that is.

Lockin26 · 30/09/2026 21:38

@RumBananaSundae sorry your last day was not more pleasant - over now and I hope you find something lovely, ten times better than the piguanas. I will steer clear of the M&S ginger cake but can't promise that on the mint wafers!

@Rainbow1961 ooh a new spreadsheet. I have mine to do tomorrow night..

Ah @Frugal25 Mingo has a friend. Like the number 22 bus they both showed up at the same time. I bet DD is over the moon! I am also putting jacket potatoes on my list.

It will all be worth it @cuckoolodger great you had another NSD

Pleased to hear Nana P is having good moments @DirtyGertiefromno30

Agree @Holidaysandchocolate some jobs are not worth staying in. I left a permanent job to take this one with a temporary contract and a pay cut. 19 years later, I'm still here, it's varied and I'm happy.

I forgot to list my spends yesterday but it was £35.95 Lidl, £10.15 IKEA. Today would have been NSD but for £3.79 for some magnetic phone rings for the car. Annoying as I know I have some...somewhere!

cuckoolodger · 01/10/2026 10:11

So this morning I’ve sent £60 in refunds over to the credit card debt. Hoping to make another payment of £140 next week at the end of our financial month. That’s an over payment of £200 compared to my DHS regular payment of £250. I think it’s sitting at about £2400 this morning so hopefully have it cleared by Easter.

planning another no spend day today although I’ve got a sneaky suspicion I might need eggs if I want to bake a cake with the over ripe bananas. But I could always just mash and freeze the bananas ? Or maybe use aqua fava from a tin of chick peas (and use the chick peas a meal ) instead of eggs but never done that before.

Rainbow1961 · 01/10/2026 10:32

£24.95 in Home Bargains - includes a couple of bits for Christmas stockings plus bread and butter. Hopefully no more today!! 🤔

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 01/10/2026 11:56

Good morning everyone 🤗
Another beautiful day here the barometer has zoomed up to fine this morning and l am thrilled to bits 😁👏.
Popped to town to return a parcel (Argos £16 refund) then over to Waitrose for Broad beans
(and a few bits £13) for tea with the gammon l am looking forward to it l can tell you 😋😁
Home now and just having a cuppa before l tackle the washing. I do not know where it comes from but 4 adults don't half make a lot 😱😁.
DH gone for a walk .
Hope everyone is ok and enjoying having this gorgeous Indian Summer ❤️.

OP posts:
DirtyGertiefromno30 · 01/10/2026 12:04

Hahaha go on then @Frugal25, be naughty and buy the mint wafers 😋.
Poor funny fur Mingo 😂. Your DD must be wondering what on earth happened to him! I think washed Mingo definitely needs those extra hugs though. Poor little bugger 😂 .He’s been through enough washed to within an inch of his life 😂
Double Davina done wow!! Boom 😁
Aw thank you for asking l am fine honestly just taking each day as we go 🤗

OP posts:
DirtyGertiefromno30 · 01/10/2026 12:13

Typical @Lockin26 🙄. You just know you’ll find the bloody things now you’ve bought more! £3.79 isn’t too bad though, and you nearly had your NSD. 😁 Aw thank you re my Mum, it's just making the best of each day as we go ❤️ .

OP posts:
DirtyGertiefromno30 · 01/10/2026 13:13

That’s brilliant @cuckoolodger 😁👏. You’ll have that down to zero before you know it. 😊
I’d freeze the bananas if it were me and keep the NSD 😂. Although I am possibly afraid of the Aquafaba having never used it though l have heard you can use it as a vegan alternative . I just can't imagine it working though 😁.

OP posts:
DirtyGertiefromno30 · 01/10/2026 13:16

Not too bad, especially with the Christmas bits and it being so fabulous in Home Bargains @Rainbow1961🤗👏. l think you were really restrained well donel! 😁

OP posts:
Frugal25 · 01/10/2026 14:07

I've not used aquafaba before either. Although always been tempted but never had the guts to possibly ruin a dish...

NSD here. First in a long time. Worked from home and ate the lunch I didn't eat yesterday.

Gorgeous day here. Washing dried in an hour and I'm not achy from Davina. Unsure why. I worked really hard!!

Finished sewing bee. My fave didn't win sadly. Makes me wish I had time to sew. Anyone on here sew?

RumBananaSundae · 01/10/2026 16:44

£2.49 in Aldi and Sainsbury. Still jam tart free but have discovered Wotsits. Have taken this months cash out and will try to stick to it.

Sorry @DirtyGertiefromno30. That was insensitive of me. I had forgotten about the Coeliacs. Good weather here too today but still waiting for the grass to turn back to green.

Thank you @Frugal25. Buy the wafers they really are good. If you do get them and don’t like them you can pass them this way. I’ve been thinking about sewing. I have a sewing machine but I’ve only used it once.

Quiet day today. No yellow stickers worth parting with my money for in Asda. My leg is not happy so need to go running. Am waiting to hear from a career coach. Not sure if it will help or hinder. Planning on going to Renoir tomorrow.

Frugal25 · 01/10/2026 17:14

I'll swap any wafers for wotsits!!!! Oh my days. I could eat packets and packets ....

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 01/10/2026 17:39

I’ve never used Aquafaba either @Frugal25, I’d be too scared of ruining the whole dish 😂
Well done on the NSD and getting the washing dry so quickly! I did sew a lot in my 30s and 40s but life took over and I just didn’t have the time or the room. I did love it though, so The Sewing Bee always makes me wish I could get back to it. How is poor bedraggled Mingo number 2 ? 😂 I warn you l have form for loving soft toys 😂 Have you ever read The Menyms ? Omg it made me cry and l was a grown woman when l read them 😂
As for Wotsits, I’m afraid M&S cheese savours outrank them by a long dog 😂

OP posts:
Twogingercats · 01/10/2026 17:46

Checking in after a day or two in bed with a bug. Getting better now. Nsd today.
@Frugal25 , would one of those little wire brushes that people use for suede help fluff up washed Minho’s fur?

OP posts:
DirtyGertiefromno30 · 01/10/2026 17:52

£2.49 is very good imo @RumBananaSundae 😁.And now you’ve discovered Wotsits too yay! I still think The cheese savours are the best though 😋😁. Hope your leg behaves itself, it must be painful for you sweetheart💐. I’m hoping the career coach will help you get another job asap, l am sending all good wishes and vibes on their way to you ❤️.
And don’t worry about remembering I’m Coeliac, you’ve got enough on your plate without me , bless you . I saw the British Library are doing an Agatha Christie event too, that sounds right up my street! Renoir sounds lovely for tomorrow though, hope you really enjoy it ❤️
