Aww well done you @Lockin26😁. Costco is lethal for those massive snack packs but the meat and fish are really good there TBF . I never buy any sandwiches or wraps or prepared snack stuff from there , l just buy from my list because it's oh so easy to get carried away in there 🙄, l do love going though 😁.
And yay to the NSD 😁. Two Vinted sales already, brilliant! Love that the money is going towards family meals too 👏🤗. I am so glad you are here , l am leaving the old thread up for a while so ppl can find us . Got to say you are doing really well with sorting everything out with your Mum's house selling. You ought to be so proud of yourself sweetheart 🤗 👏.

£9 today in Aldi and Marks and Spencer. I had made dinner and then changed my mind so I’ll keep it for later in the week. Tonight is curry instead.

Your milk bottle box sounds lovely @Twogingercats.

I always slip too @Frugal25. They have a special name for it in Norway and that put me off (first choice was Oslo). Great that you’ve settled on a venue and good to have Little Frugal with you. One thing you can cross off the very long list.

Great with the no spend day @Lockin26. And on Vinted.

Weather is nice here too @DirtyGertiefromno30.

Have given up for today and am watching television.

cuckoolodger · 28/09/2026 16:24

Bought some cooking bacon today for £1.25 for carbonara and peas and ham soup this week. Also got 4 packs of prosciutto tortellini reduced for £1 a pack. Very easy cheap dinner with passata and a bit of herbs etc. A sourdough loaf reduced to £1 for the freezer. 15 eggs for £2. Total spend £8.25 but then I saw the lines at the petrol station so decided to fill up due to the fuel prices and so that cost me £87 for a range of 370 miles and now I could cry 😭🤷🏼‍♀️😂

Frugal25 · 28/09/2026 17:18

Petrol is sky high isn't it @cuckoolodger I'm driving like a granny at the mo to preserve what I have.

@RumBananaSundaeive never looked at Oslo. I shall now. Bet it's beautiful. Any second choices? Oh I love curry. The other dinner can definitely wait.

Well done @Lockin26 you're doing amazing 😍

How was your lovely mum @DirtyGertiefromno30? And are your eyes still ok from the other week?

Mingo has arrived!!!! I've written the first one off. This lady posted within minutes of me buying bless her.

£7.40 on stamps.
£1.50 on a croissant as I'm starving today and my salad isn't cutting it.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 28/09/2026 19:38

Some really good bargains there @cuckoolodger£1.25 for bacon and £1 for Tortellini, 15 eggs for £2 is brilliant 👏🤗. You’ll get loads of meals out of that. £87 for petrol, that would make me want to cry too bless you .

£9 isn’t bad at all @RumBananaSundae😊 and I don’t blame you changing your mind about dinner if you weren't feeling it . At least you’ve got it ready for later in the week when you do 😁. Lovely that you’ve had nice weather too.l think there's nothing like a sunny day to cheer us up 😊. Sometimes it’s nice to just do nothing and watch a bit of telly and eat something nice like a jam tart 😁

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 28/09/2026 19:49

Mingo has arrived!! Yay @Frugal25. I’d have written the first one off too, especially after all that waiting! Bless her for posting it so quickly after you bought it 👏. I don’t blame you for getting the croissant, a salad isn’t going to cut it when you’re starving sweetheart . Thank you for asking ,my Mum was good today thank God 🙏 and my eye is still flashing and has that huge black floater in it but l am trying my best to ignore it 🤣.

So I washed mingo, as it didn't smell like DDs. Hand washed. Dripped dried. Finished it off in tumble dryer and the fur has melted. The mood I'm in is not good. I've tried brushing it but it's melted and matted. DD just seems happy to have him back but I will cry later when she has gone to school I'm not going to lie. I actually give up with all of this. I'm clearly being punished for giving her original away.

Moving on. £10 for yoga later. But tbh I'm not in the mood.

Oh @DirtyGertiefromno30your poor eye, as long as it's been checked and you're ok that's all that matters. Xxxx

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 29/09/2026 15:49

Oh bless you @Frugal25, I’d be so upset too 😢. You only washed him to make him lovely and fresh for your Dd and now his fur has melted 🥲 It’s so frustrating when you’re trying to do something nice and it all goes wrong 🙄. I really wouldn’t blame you for crying . At least your DD is happy to have him back bless her. And don’t worry about yoga if you’re not feeling it tonight, you’ve had enough! Give yourself a quiet evening instead . Big hugs lovely ❤️

I'm new! Please can I join? I've got two little ones and another on the way (first trimester horrible sickness means I'm mostly in bed so not out spending). Lots of people have been bringing us food which is so lovely and we've spent way less on groceries. We are paying about £100 in childcare a week that we don't usually though as we've got a temporary mother's help.

With one income and almost three kiddies we are going to need to get frugal again once I'm better so I'm loving all the inspiration!

Today was pay day, I paid off a pay in 3 £33 for a new pushchair we needed
I bought new pyjamas for the boys for Christmas to match our adult ones before their sizes sell out £28
And I bought some new bedding which is much needed as we only have one set for our bed £50

So it's been a spendy day but I should manage lots of NSD in the coming weeks and I'm feeling very inspired!

cuckoolodger · 29/09/2026 16:41

NSD for me today, well and truly over due!

Spent about £6 today in Sainsbury’s and Marks and Spencer. Needed the milk but nothing else. I need to rediscover my old shopping persona. I never used to look at or think about anything other than what I needed. And used to meal plan and stick to it.

That’s very good shopping @cuckoolodger. Bah humbug to the fuel. Whoop on the no spend today.

No Mingo no. I’m sorry @Frugal25. That’s a bum to happen. You weren’t to know. Don’t be hard on yourself. I’m not sure where else is on my list. There are a few exhibitions I’d like to go to and a few paintings I’d like to see but they’re not all in the same place. Saw an advert for interailing passes being on sale so I might look at that.

I’m still jam tart free @DirtyGertiefromno30. I’ve not had one since I decided there were better things to waste money on. Unfortunately they seem to have been replaced by mint wafer biscuits from Marks and Spencer. At nearly three times the price. Glad your mum is OK. Love Nutcracker things.

Welcome @ThatSereneCat.

Ended up in town today. Missed the hopper fare on the way back. Arghhhh. Not sure why £1.75 disturbs me when I ate a box of £2.50 mint wafers. Barbie has arrived in the UK and should be delivered tomorrow.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 29/09/2026 18:45

The £1.75 hopper fare would annoy me too @RumBananaSundae, even after spending £2.50 on mint wafers! But they are not just mint wafers they are Marks &Spencers MINT wafers 😁.It’s the principle of it though isn’t it really, it feels like a waste of money l know.
I need to get back to my old shopping ways too, I used to meal plan and only bought what I actually needed but that's all gone by the wayside 🙄. God knows what happened to that woman! 🤣. Hope Barbie arrives tomorrow😁.

Frugal25 · 29/09/2026 19:36

Oh my goodness I adore mint wafers. Must add to my shopping list.
Did you want to bring back the meal plans that we used to put on here for inspiration @RumBananaSundae? I hadn't realised it had stopped until you mentioned it.
The rest of the week for me looks like
Celery soup.
Jacket potatoes and tuna for DD and cheese for me (OH is out)
Picky tea
Homemade pizza.

Frugal25 · 29/09/2026 19:39

Didn't go yoga. Did my budget and I'm £80 down where I should be. Will do my budget good to stay home and watch gardeners world instead.

Love the "not just any mint wafers" @DirtyGertiefromno30 made me giggle.

Id love to do exhibitions too, I keep promising myself a day in London being a tourist but I never do.

Welcome @ThatSereneCat oh what beautiful news, a new baby on the way!! Well done on buying things you needed and not hand bags (she says eyeing them up on eBay)

Frugal25 · 29/09/2026 19:40

Urgh. Another msg from me. I keep forgetting things that I want to say. Adore what you bought @DirtyGertiefromno30i shall have to plan a day to go and buy bits like that xxx

Tbh l thought you would like them and that's partly why l put the pics . I think your DD will adore the felt Nutcracker mouse and ballerina . I could not leave them there ! They were £3 each and l thought they were an excellent bargain l am so glad you liked them ❤️

Don't worry too much about being £80 down on your budget it's early days for the month yet and I am sure you can pull it back sweetheart 😘

Lockin26 · 29/09/2026 22:53

Oh @Frugal25 what a roller coaster with Mingo! DD is happy, that's the main thing 🩷

@RumBananaSundae I'm not a jam tart fan but I'll join in a mint chocolate wafer appreciation! Especially M&S 😋

Thats a great shop for just over £8 @cuckoolodger and some lovely sounding meals. Agree with you on fuel, we use Costco but even with the 5p discount it's eye watering.

@DirtyGertiefromno30 love your Christmas finds in B&M

Welcome @ThatSereneCat and congratulations. Hope your sickness doesn't last much longer.

Funny you should mention it I did a menu plan earlier
Left over spicy beef brisket with salad and black rice
Left over chilli with salad and rice
Roast chicken left overs, pesto and cream sauce with pasta
Chicken tenders with a sweet sauce (sweet and sour or sweet chilli) veg and rice
Ham, cheese and pickle sandwiches
Have salmon and beef mince in the freezer so need to think about using them up. Maybe a cottage pie on Sunday, feels chilly here today.

Tomorrow is payday with a small backdated payrise. Spreadsheet will be reenacted, I have been a little lax since the summer spending!

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 30/09/2026 07:58

Good morning everyone 😁

It's rained all night here but it's very mild. Off to see Mum in a bit 😁.
That sounds like a really good menu plan @Lockin26! 😋 Loads of nice meals in there and using up the leftovers too. Cottage pie is perfect cosy food , one of our favourite meals!
Ooh payday tomorrow yay AND a little backdated pay rise, very nice indeed . Don't worry,I think we’ve all been a bit lax with our spending over this red hot summer tbh 🥵 🤣. l know running 4 fans constantly 24/7 has been expensive this summer . Hey ho got to be done 🤗 thank you for liking my B&M buys , they were so pretty. I could have spent a fortune 😁. NSD for me hopefully 🤞.
Hope everyone has a lovely day 🤗

Pay day!! Done the monthly shuffle and updated the spreadsheet to include increased bills 😡Other than that hopefully a NSD as it's chucking it down with rain and I don't want to get wet. Time enough for that when I collect the GCs from school later!! 🌂
