NSD yesterday.

Welcome @notnorman sorry to hear your news.

Should be a NSD for me today too. DD at a party but gift already bought and I'll not use the cafe whilst there, I'll take water with me.

Ovoemconserva · Yesterday 09:42

We have been a bit spendy this weekend on convenience which I am trying to avoid.
£16 Friday night Chinese (we share a meal deal it's enough for two big plates!)
£12 chipshop Thursday (the cleaner had been in 😆)
£12 Starbucks after school Friday zero reason apart from wanting to sit in the air con car 😆

Haven't actually brought groceries I don't think there was a £12 spend in Tesco on Friday night for a birthday party present for a party for kid from dance.

So hot today I'm well up for stopping in as long as possible need to go get some lunch box bits later though.

FrugalinBrighton · Yesterday 11:16

£55 in Tesco today, shouldn’t be anything else.

Cuwins · Yesterday 11:47

£3 today- a drink and entry to a car boot for a quick wander but didn’t buy anything. Should be it today

Ovoemconserva · Yesterday 14:36

£13 Aldi spaghetti Bolognese for tea but DH says that's a midweek meal do that s one sorted for in the week. Not sure what he's going to say instead as now upto him to sort
£5 in Morrisons forgot to pick up squash.

Afternoon everyone 😊
We went early to the Matalan clearance store in Newport and bought stuff for £40 that full price would have cost us £205 , and absolute bargains there. Also bought GF stuff from Marks to try had a good look at it all there but l only bought a few things , it's so expensive there tbh £52 😱. Mum was fine, my sisters day today. We came home in time for the Wimbledon Mens final 😁 watching it now . Just had a nice cuppa and a tuna and cottage cheese salad very nice tbf . Nice and light not too much.
Boiling hot here 30C phew 🥵
Hope everyone is having a lovely day 😊

They're really good tips @Rubytwoshoose, and it's amazing how those little regular payments add up. I definitely need to keep a closer eye on my spending too. Café Nero catches us all out! 😂
Thank you re my Mum that's so kind of you ❤️

A bargain day for you yesterday@RumBananaSundae! Glad you remembered your hand soap too. Hope we get some cooler weather 🥵. I’m with you, lovely outside but not so much when you’re stuck indoors not able to do anything. Glad you had a quiet, uneventful day , sometimes they’re just what we needed. 😊
Hope you are having a good day sweetheart 🤗

Completely against frugalness but anybody else fancy going shopping circa 2007/8? All the options.

RumBananaSundae · Yesterday 17:13

£8.99 today in Asda. I had £8.98 in change so had a break a £10 note.

Ohhh @DirtyGertiefromno30 that’s a good result at Matalan. Cottage cheese is always a winner. Glad your mum is ok. It’s 30 here too.

Didn’t last long with the no yellow stickers. I think they’ll be a few strange combinations for the next week or so.

Frugal25 · Yesterday 18:15

So glad your mum is ok @DirtyGertiefromno30 and wow on those bargains....

Absolutely love a car boot. Haven't been for years.

Love cottage cheese too. Nom.

Oh @RumBananaSundae that would have made me a bit cross. I don't mind saying.

Found my homemade bread had gone hard so I chopped it in half, then made bread crumbs and croutons for the freezer. I have to buy them normally so this saves money and waste.

I love a car boot too but this one was rubbish and tiny. Once we are definitely moving I will be looking at some of the bigger ones to get some outdoor toys for DD.
£5 top up in coop and have my sister coming round for Chinese this evening so much more expensive day than expected

That's a great save @Frugal25 well done sweetheart! Nothing beats making the most of what you've already got. Homemade breadcrumbs and croutons freeze really well, so you've saved yourself money twice over. Love it when nothing goes to waste good girl 👏🤗

Can I join? Been away this weekend to Cadbury World (tho won tix for that at least) and Comic Con at NEC Birmingham so did spend over the weekend.
Been driving home most of today; I thought I hadn't spent anything but we had breakfast at Wetherspoons for DD and I which came to £15.46 (which was yummy btw, Eggs Benedict and coffee for me and a fruit platter to share, plus a sausage sandwich and pancakes for DD) and come to think of it, it's all I've had all day other than water and a French fancy at my sister's as we stopped there briefly en route home. Better eat something!

Cuwins · Today 17:24

NSD for me today. DD at pre school and me working this evening so easy to spend nothing today.

Rubytwoshoose · Today 17:38

Yesterday's spends £5.74 in Lidl and £24 on 2 pair of new cropped pants for my holiday.
Today £3 on drinks.

Brilliant on the Matalan haul @DirtyGertiefromno30 .

Fingers crossed that your house sale and future move goes smoothly @Cuwins.

I'm quite partial to a Wetherspoons myself @Judellie . Great value.

If it helps anyone out, I have a £5 off a £50 spend in Argos and a £10 off £100 spend. Expires tomorrow night.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · Today 17:55

Afternoon everyone 😊
Welcome to the thread @Judellie 😊hope you have been fed now 😋
NSD for me too @Cuwins like you 😊. I have been to see Mum, who was fine there thankfully and did 3 loads of washing and tidied the dining room, this afternoon, it's so much easier not to spend when we keep ourselves occupied 👍😁.
Oh that's so sweet of you to offer those codes @Rubytwoshoosel don't need them but l am sure there will be someone who needs them . Bless you 🤗
Hope everyone is ok and having a lovely day 😁

I was norty today! Met a couple of colleagues for working brunch and it was my turn to pay which came to £30. But we met in a department store cafe and I bought some jeans and a nightshirt so that’s £45 I hadn’t budgeted for.

I so rarely buy new clothes it was a real treat. I am home all weekend so I can dial it down for the rest of the week. 🤞

RumBananaSundae · Today 19:03

Spent about £8 in Aldi and Marks and Spencer on milk and sushi.

I know @Frugal25. I hate it too. I think ohhhh change doesn’t count then spend it on nonsense. Which is what happened today.

Fingers crossed on your move @Cuwins.

Oh @DirtyGertiefromno30 I’ve been giving my dining table of doom the side eye. It needs clearing.

Bit of a blergh day. Got another rejection. Poo on them.

Milk has increased in price in Marks and Spencer too. I checked last night then by the time I’d got there today it had gone up. So I bought it in Aldi instead. Looking forward to the France game tomorrow. Still have my cidre. Meal plan this week is curry so not sure that can be given a French twist.
