Welcomw @FrugalinBrighton your introduction wasn't boring at all 🤗. Massive well done on the weight loss! You're not the only one who's been tempted by Vinted 🤣. Love the bit about your David Austin rose and Yorkshire tea too. Good luck with your goals! ❤️

£8.10 sounds like a good little haul @RumBananaSundae, especially with all those yellow stickers, freezer meals sorted too , well done sweetheart great haul 😁 👏.

There's always something @RosalieRosa , £3 is more than enough 👍👏.
Sounds like a nice weekend even if it wasn’t very frugal @Statsinyoureyes 😊 , the school fair was well worth it for the kids and £25 isn’t bad really all in. Aldi treats are cheap enough and £13 for sunglasses isn’t too bad at all.
Hope your old ones turn up soon 😁
It was a NSD for me today but the car brakes are looming for next Weds £550 😱
We aren't staying up for England it's too late for us old figure l am afraid 😁
Good luck to them though 👍🍀🤞

Love your introduction @FrugalinBrighton :) love a rose too. Also, ahem, love vinted. I wish I didn't know about it.

£8.50 on tea and cake to distract DD whilst OH looked for new shoes. Was so close to being a NSD.

Not staying up for the footie either. Such a light weight when it comes to bedtime. I turn into a pumpkin.

Welcome all new people. We liv6e making new friends

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 05/07/2026 23:20

Vinted is far too addictive @Frugal25 🤣. £8.50 on tea and cake to distract Dd is well worth it 😁. Almost an nsd is still good for a Sunday . Hope your DH found the shoes he wanted. Norway won my lot are very happy here 🤣.
Good luck to England but l am sorry to say as much as l want to stay up l know it will knock me out for days and l have to see Mum so it's no good but never mind 😁

Morning. I'm here but will read and post properly once this week is done and dusted as things will ease off at work.

Lone the thread title thanks @DirtyGertiefromno30

Welcome to the new frugaleers 😊

I love Vinted too - buying more than selling at the moment. Waiting for a pair of sandals from Vinted as I am still choosing between fake UGG sandals (bought in Turkiye) and Converse for work. Let's hope this pair fits!

Had quite a social weekend but surprisingly frugal
£15.33 Asda
£12 Coop
£18.30 round of drinks before Sunday lunch out which would have been £30 a head for us, then BIL treated us all. So saved £120 there 🙏

Saturday £21 Lidl. Went to a local festival and spent £24.50 on a necklace for DD to say well done for her mock exams, £13 on drinks and crisps in the pub so much less than I thought.

Spent two hours cleaning the patio with a karcher jet wash yesterday, rather than pay someone.

Best get up and get going with the day. I'm working until late for the next couple of nights, we didn't stay up for the game. England did brilliantly and thank God the next one is a weekend so we can watch it!

FrugalinBrighton · 06/07/2026 06:20

I didn’t stay up for the football either, and it was further delayed by an hour. Great result though and I will stay up Saturday night to watch.

Starting my accountability today, although I know it’s going to be a spendy start.

DS and his DP rescued an abandoned cat and he’s living with me until next month when they move into their own place (without very allergic housemate).

So today is neutering and micro chip day. Poor little fella is FURIOUS that breakfast service has failed. Doesn’t realise that’s the least of his problems today. 😿

Then meeting DD for lunch. She has just been dumped so needs cheering up.

Will report back on total spends and will pay cat tax.

Theworldisyouroystercatcher · 06/07/2026 07:13

Morning all. Should be nsd. About to walk dog before too hot
have a good day all

RosalieRosa · 06/07/2026 08:09

What a beautiful cat! He is gorgeous. I hope he isn't too traumatised.

I did not stay up for the football either, but I am so pleased with the result.

Cuwins · 06/07/2026 08:24

Going to try to join in this again. We are in the process of selling our flat and buying a house so I do need to rein in the spending a bit. However tricky with a 4 year old who is hard to entertain in a flat.
Our weekend was not cheap:
Saturday- £27 on new shorts and summer pjs for DD in M&S, £57 online for new clothes in the next size up but they were all 50% off so not too bad

Sunday- £30 on a funday in the local park but DD had a lovely time, she is the perfect age for summer fairs etc- loves a tombola or hook the duck!

Also had to pay my AA renewal £99

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 06/07/2026 08:47

Morning @Lockin26 😁 you've done really well, even with such a busy weekend 👏.What a fab Bil you have to treat everyone bless him 😊. Lovely little treat for your DD too and very well deserved, you can all unwind over the summer hols now the exams are all over 😮‍💨 .Hope the Vinted sandals fit and your work calms down , and you get to put your feet up. Fingers crossed England do the business on Saturday 👏🤞. We didn't stay up ,l wish we had now but we are going to watch the match later so exciting! 😊⚽

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 06/07/2026 09:01

We will definitely stay up on Saturday to watch too @FrugalinBrighton😁 it's so exciting 👏.
Omg l love your DS kitten he's absolutely beautiful ❤️.
Aw bless him he will be so cross he had to miss his brekky bless him. Like you said it's the least of his worries today though 😱. Hope he will be fine. l am sure he will be , the pain relief is so much better now than it used to be .
Ah it's so horrible being dumped but great that you are being so supportive of her and taking DD out for lunch .
It's absolutely his loss , she's well rid of him . Thank you for the cat tax ❤️

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 06/07/2026 09:05

Fingers crossed it is a NSD for you @Theworldisyouroystercatcherand hope your DDog copes ok with this heat 😊. l know it means an early start for both of you but at least it's safer , Have a good day ☺️.

OP posts:
DirtyGertiefromno30 · 06/07/2026 09:08

AHH @RosalieRosa brilliant result!
l wish l had stayed up 🙄. Nevermind I am going to watch it later with my lot here 👏😁

OP posts:
DirtyGertiefromno30 · 06/07/2026 09:17

What a Lovely weekend for you and yours @Cuwins good to see you back just post when you like no pressure 🤗. I used to buy the next size up in the sales for my Dds too . It just makes complete sense. The Next sales queue at 5am is a distant memory for me now though thankfully 🤣.
The Park Funday sounds brilliant and really reasonable for an all day event 👏🤗 . We can all do without the AA renewal fees but needs must , it's an essential when you think about it . When we are lone women driving especially with a child we need the back up of these emergency services for our safety . Have a good week 😊.

OP posts:
DirtyGertiefromno30 · 06/07/2026 09:21

Good morning everyone, it's a beautiful day here , off for lunch with my friend today so that will be £20 . No plans for any other spends today but....
Hope my replying to everyone doesn't put you off l am just buzzing because of the result 🤣.
Have a lovely day everyone 🤗

OP posts:
FrugalinBrighton · 06/07/2026 14:36

£25 lunch
£3 train fare
£174 vet

Expensive start to the week but kitty had to be chipped and neutered. He HATES me right now.

RosalieRosa · 06/07/2026 14:41

I think today will be a NSD, although I am doing The Big Shop tomorrow and we need basically everything, so that is going to be pricey 😬

Cuwins · 06/07/2026 14:53

Went to do a top up shop of bread and milk and spent £30 but a big chunk was yellow sticker meat/fish which will save money in the long run.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 06/07/2026 16:22

Afternoon everyone 😊
Lovely lunch with my friend only £7!
I had a gorgeous egg and bacon sandwich and a can of Rio . We have decided to pay for ourselves in future so we can pay for what we want to eat.
Spent £50 in Aldi then , on mostly meat and salad stuff and ice cream and lollies . Watched the extended highlights of the England match , it was fabulous 👏😁.
So glad Catty boy is ok bless him
@FrugalinBrighton🤗🐈‍⬛.
I find no matter how much the big shop is l always forget things or things are OOS @RosalieRosa 🙄
Love a yellow sticker haul @Cuwins well done ! 😁👏
Beautiful here today , 26C but a lovely breeze it's a perfect summer's day ❤️
Hope everyone is ok 🤗

Another wannabe frugaleer wanting to join the gang.

DH retired at the end of 2025 so needing to be mindful of our spending.
Three adults, one cat in our household.

At the moment I'm trying to use up what's in my freezer but still can't seem to cut the food budget.

Today's spends £4.70 in M&S on bread and milk.
Out for coffee with my two sisters which was free as my sister treated us.

Confession time. My favourite tea is also Thompsons Punjana but Yorkshire tea is up there with the best.

Love reading all your frugal posts and the cat tax is a bonus.

RumBananaSundae · 06/07/2026 19:42

Spent just under £5 in the grocery shop today. £2.97 of that was on a tin of aubergine. Will see what that’s like. And £22.40 on a train ticket to see my friend tomorrow as neither of us want to go to the office.

Was expecting some paperwork from work today but they say they’re still working on it. Not a good sign. Bunch of tools.

Very glad the Norwegians won. My missed Norwegian dinner has been pencilled in for their next game. Have decided I don’t like smoked hummus.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 06/07/2026 22:22

Welcome @Rubytwoshoose 😊
You have a lovely sister bless her 👏.
That's lovely for you DH to be retired l hioehes enjoying getting off the 9 to 5 !

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 06/07/2026 22:32

I’m intrigued by the tin of aubergine @RumBananaSundae, hope it’s really yummy 😋. Enjoy seeing your friend tomorrow, so much better than the horrible office 🙄. Annoying about the paperwork though but it seems to go with the territory you work in unfortunately sweetheart 😕. And smoked hummus is clearly a no from you 😂. Glad Norway won too but l will be torn between England and Norway when they play on Sat. Nevermind may the best team win 😁
