NSD for me. Yay.
Love the cat tax. Gorgeous kitty. Looks like my Jericho.
I've a yellow sticker haul.
Can't beat the original hummus @RumBananaSundae

Theworldisyouroystercatcher · 07/07/2026 06:30

Morning all. Ended up buying petrol yesterday but that should mean today is nsd. 🤞

FrugalinBrighton · 07/07/2026 06:37

Kitty is bouncing off the walls as usual this morning. 😍 Where’s your cat tax @Rubytwoshoose?

Hoping for NSD today 🤞

Frugal25 · 07/07/2026 08:34

beach and park day today which will cost £6 and I'll take a picnic. Might buy an ice cream for DD.
Then tonight is yoga. And gosh is it needed this week. That's £10.

Just been through DD wardrobe and my cook books and got rid of half from each. I'll put the decent stuff on vinted later.

Rubytwoshoose · 07/07/2026 11:58

Paying my cat tax @FrugalinBrighton. This is our little rescue cat aka The eating machine.

Thank you @DirtyGertiefromno30, DH is enjoying the peace and relaxing of retirement although he does miss the company.

Love a yellow sticker too.
Another dinner from the freezer tonight.
Hoping for a NSD/LSD but going into town for a wander so tea and a treat may be involved.

Have a good day all.

Rubytwoshoose · 07/07/2026 12:00

Oof, I didn't realise a photo of my cat would cause any issues with MN 😳
Edited to add, all is well with my photo 😂

Cuwins · 07/07/2026 12:31

Should be a NSD here. Tuesdays we go to a friends in the morning for our home ed then scouts in the evening so generally a NSD.

Frugal25 · 07/07/2026 16:46

Back from the beach and a little pink. Oh dear.
Updated to ass £6 for ice creams. £10.55 pre booking swimming for Thursday. And £3.55 on a tgtg bag later today after yoga.

Ovoemconserva · 07/07/2026 16:52

Today has been
£2 yoghurt and bananas from marks at lunch
£20 in Aldi.

I rarely seem to manage a no spend day but I don't really do a main food shop so end up buying throughout the week.

And whilst I'm here .. I do need to recommend... The lemon and lime yoghurt from marks and Spencer!

Ovoemconserva · 07/07/2026 18:34

C'mon tygypt!

Rubytwoshoose · 07/07/2026 21:48

Spends for today were £6.75 in the cafe, £6.80 in Tesco. Not too bad.

Tomorrow will be a spendy one as I have to get some foreign currency for our upcoming holiday and some travel insurance.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 07/07/2026 22:05

NSD for me today , Mum was fine thankfully 😁.
Had an appointment with Gastroenterology apparently at the grand old age of 65 l have been diagnosed with Coeliac disease . I am in shock tbh. l have no symptoms but my blood levels for it were so high they didn't need to do an Endoscopy.
Beautiful kitty @Rubytwoshoose ❤️.
So glad kitty is ok @FrugalinBrighton
😊👏.
Well done on the sorting out of the books and DD wardrobe @Frugal25 , Vintage here it comes 😊👏.
if those lemon and lime yogs are GF l will be trying them out @Ovoemconserva 😁😋
Pray tell where are you going on hols @Rubytwoshoose 👏😊
Hope you have e a great time 😊

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 07/07/2026 23:48

FrugalinBrighton · 08/07/2026 07:24

Wow that’s a shocker at our age @DirtyGertiefromno30. Did you think that diagnosis might be coming?

I was hoping for a NSD today but it might end up being mega spendy. Poor DD has had her heart broken (with a side order of pregnancy scare) and in my Mummywillmakeitrightagain panic I offered to pay for her to go away for a few days to heal. I do have savings I can use but it was quite foolish of me.

Frugal25 · 08/07/2026 08:59

Oh @FrugalinBrightonim sorry about your DD. I still remember my f andirst heartbreak, what a lovely offer you made. Best mummy in the world I think.
I don't know much about coeliac I'll be honest, so sorry your DD has it @MalteseFalconer (and welcome 🤗) oh my goodness @DirtyGertiefromno30what a shock. I know you have a beautiful family to support but you know we are all here.
Car MOT today and rear plate replacement as it's faded. I want to call it a NSD as they are yearly things ...
At home in bed today. My poor mum who is now better is looking after my DD and I'm tucked up in bed. I got on the bus to work and only just got off and made it home before being unwell and fainting. Def the heat from yesterday. Back to bed and lots of water for me

Rubytwoshoose · 08/07/2026 12:29

Glad to hear your mum was well @DirtyGertiefromno30. She's such a trooper. Sorry to hear about your coeliac diagnosis. At least you can now take action to help with managing it.

Sorry to hear about your daughter's breakup @FrugalinBrighton. Understandable you want to try and cheer her up.

👋 to all the new joiners like myself.

We are going on a River Cruise @DirtyGertiefromno30. It was booked last year before DH decided to retire. It's something he's always wanted to do so we'll call it a retirement celebration.

fedupandtired1 · 08/07/2026 15:24

I’ve been selling like mad the last 3 months to save for decent summer school holidays . Made £350 in last 3 months on vinted/ebay . I’m a bank nurse so don’t have a regular income and find childcare so hard in the holidays . Day 3 in Scotland spent £40 so far on train to Edinburgh to met friends and kids at the museum which was free, took a packed lunch and she treated us to an ice cream which was kind of her . And soft play for 2
kids it was on special offer . Been taking own snacks water etc . I’m nightshift next 2 nights so 2 no spend days as I’ll be sleeping whist ds amuses himself no doubt on Xbox

Cuwins · 08/07/2026 15:42

Managed to get conned into a £4.99 misting fan by DD! But that’s the only spend today

RumBananaSundae · 08/07/2026 16:20

Spent £3.50 in Sainsbury’s today on milk and a snack. I should quit buying the snacks as I never enjoy them so they’re a waste of money. Yesterday was a no spend day.

I’m the same @Ovoemconserva. I hardly ever have a no spend day as I grocery shop for the day. Well that’s what the plan is but it doesn’t always work.

Glad your mum is fine @DirtyGertiefromno30. I did read somewhere that Coeliac disease is not an unusual diagnosis in women in particular age brackets and it used to be missed quite frequently. I hope you are doing ok.

Well done on the clear out @Frugal25. Fingers crossed for wads of cash from Vinted. Hope bed and water have done the trick and you’re feeling better.

That’s a lovely thing for you to do for your daughter @FrugalinBrighton.

That’s great on Vinted/ebay @fedupandtired1.

Had a lovely day with my friend yesterday and will return the favour next time. Am meant to be meeting a friend tomorrow, and I would love to see them, but I’m hoping they cancel as I don’t fancy travelling into town and spending money. And I ate far too much yesterday. Did lots of work today (and feel like a mug). Given the circumstances I know I shouldn’t complain but some people really are trying. And it didn’t improve my mood when I noticed a mistake in an application I’ve made.

Frugal25 · 08/07/2026 16:30

£81 on mot and rear reg plate.
Feeling a bit better and ive made it downstairs and watching frozen with DD.
Is it a mistake that can be fixed @RumBananaSundae or a mistake that will be glosses over?
I have to say, I had some cold milk the other day and thought of you. It was delicious.

Well done on the selling @fedupandtired1

RumBananaSundae · 08/07/2026 18:27

Glad you’re feeling a bit better @Frugal25. I think it’s quite an obvious mistake I’ve submitted the application already so I can’t fix it.

Not improving matters I had another rejection so I’m sitting on my hands stopping myself booking a holiday I can’t afford.

Cold milk is lovely.

Rubytwoshoose · 08/07/2026 18:57

As expected, a spendy day today.
Annual travel insurance £130
Travel money £90
Tesco £15. I only went in for washing up liquid as you do, but shiny things distracted me and £15 later they were in my bag.

Sorry to hear about your rejection @RumBananaSundae. Very frustrating for you. Booking a holiday to cheer yourself up is understandable.

FrugalinBrighton · 08/07/2026 19:39

Glad you are feeling better @Frugal25.

Book the holiday @RumBananaSundae

NSD for me here. DD hasn’t booked her holiday yet. She’s meeting the ex tonight to “clear the air” poor thing.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 08/07/2026 22:43

Aww bless your Dd what a rotten time for her@FrugalinBrighton. 💔 At least the pregnancy scare is over. I hope seeing her ex tonight gives her some closure.
And don't be hard on yourself , that's what Mums do ,we want to make everything better . ❤️ Hopefully a few days away will help if she decides to go, and fingers crossed it won't be too spendy for you too 🤞🤗.
It was a complete shock to know l was Coeliac l had no idea whatsoever.
I am learning though, day 1 is done , onwards and upwards 😁🤞.
