A Sofa day yesterday sounded very well deserved to me @RumBananaSundaeith all the crap you have had to put up with. Leftover samosas and six chocolate bars sounds like excellent preparation for a shit week! 😂 Keep sitting on those hands and don’t blow the last pay cheque on frivolous niceties so very tempting though! Hope today goes much better than you are dreading sweetheart 🤗

Lovely to have apples ready early great idea sharing some and freezing stewed apples. That £10 Tesco voucher is really worth using for tins and Christmas bits . And Miss Pettigrew sounds perfect for a stressy day! Hope you had a lovely Bank Holiday too 😁.

Oh no, when something is on the wrong hanger it is so annoying, especially when you’re already having a shit show of a day @Ovoemconserva! 😩 And don’t worry about the oversharing, I’m all for the details 😂. McDonald’s breakfast, Starbucks and Aldi added up, but sod it, some days you just have to get through however you can sweetheart 🤗

I think I’d feel exactly the same about the £5 parking @Cuwins . If work treated you to dinner, claiming back a fiver would feel a bit meh, l know what you mean ! So I’d definitely let that one go too. And £13 for bowling in a couple of days is fab, hope you have a great time 😁

Nine items uploaded to Vinted this morning, two sold this afternoon so now I need to pack them up! Got another eight items to load up later, several to send off to the auctioneers and stamps to take for valuation. I've had a summer break but picking this back up - it's items from late DM and late PIL houses. I'm actually nearly finished. DMs for sale board went up today, that feels far too soon and there's a viewing today. Need to let the process happen though.

@Lockin26thanks, nothing really changes for us to be honest. We have been slowly introducing some table lessons over the last month in phonics and maths so that continues around 3 x a week and we have one day at another HE family house where we do a geography curriculum together. Oh my partner is doing a science experiment/activity a couple of times a month with her that’s new.
She will still be at pre school for another 2 terms.

Today £6 on a bluey sticker book as the reward for DD reward chart and £4 on a little stocking filler

Back to work tomorrow. DD starts school Thurs. I'm dreading it. Going back to normal. I love the freedom of being at home. Tomorrow will mean back to the grind and DM being my childcare which is always a tricky relationship. Anyway. Hoping off to yoga tonight if OH gets home in time

I think that is one of the things I am growing fond of from freezer eating @Twogingercats. Random combinations that turn out to be rather nice. Stewed apples are amazing. I used to have them with blackberries when I was a child.

My friend sent me a colouring book and some markers so I coloured a picture after I logged off today. Not sure if it’s stressful or relaxing. The ink isn’t the colour of the caps so that’s not fun. My mango looks like it’s been Tangoed. One of my favourite news readers is back today so I’m taking today as a win. I have a low bar.

Approx £10 on a few little bits DD picked out in supermarket as a thank you. I never really know what to get in those situations so I bow down to DD and let her pick 😆 they always go down well when presented by a cute child imo. (I know, I know, but there has to be certain perks)
Returned the shirt and skirt. Interestingly the two customers doing returns in front of me were both returning the big cat shirt and the skirt well I didn't realise just how short it actually was 😆.

Good afternoon.
£103 yesterday at Tesco, using aforementioned £10 voucher. We do not live in a a very rural area but we have been snowed up in the winter before, so I have stocked up on tinned food, UHT milk etc. I must get some inexpensive bottled water in too, just in case the water goes off at any time, again, rarely a problem but I like enough in so tea can be made. The last lot I bought, Mum gave to some workmen as she thought they looked hot and thirsty. I did not grudge them a cold drink but she could have given them as much water from the tap as they wanted!
@Frugal25 I’m sure Dutchcat is a lovely cat really. Ours lives indoors so we don’t have that ,thankfully.
@Lockin26 and @RumBananaSundae , using up is very satisfying. Am finishing off two shower gels in the bath this week and yesterday we had two mandarins nobody wanted so I squeezed the juice into a glass of lemonade for Mum which she considered very fancy!

I’m baking lots of scones this afternoon and possibly in the morning. Our church has a monthly coffee morning, so I.m aiming to send both cheese and fruit ones down with Mum. A scone with butter and jam with a cup of tea or coffee is sold for only £1.50, beat that Starbucks! No new oven yet but the old one is ok with the scones as you need a hot oven anyway.

Last day of the summer holidays here today so I've had a bit of a yes day.
Yes you can have a McDonald's chicken nugs at 1130 even though you've just eaten a ton of chocolate in the cinema And then I'll buy the over priced caramelized waffle in Starbucks. She is quite low maintenance really.
She's made an absolute pig of all of her toys this afternoon I'm stressed seeing it all but my mum had a rule of softness the day before we started school so I'm just accepting it.

Quite a bit of spending today. £4.34 in Asda, £6.92 in Lidl, £2.08 in Sainsbury’s and 49p in Aldi. Most of it is for the cupboard. I think I’m hoarding more than usual. I bought strange egg noodles. I think they’re for soup. I will have to Google.

Fab news on avoiding the bill @Ovoemconserva. I’m now curious about this cat shirt. A yes day is OK. Well that’s what I’m telling myself at the moment. I’m having quite a few of them. What did you see at the cinema? I hope you enjoyed it.

Using up is satisfying @Twogingercats. Today it was a pitta bread from the side of the freezer with some left over cheese. How is the scone baking going? £1.50 is quite the bargain. When I meet my arty friend in town we tend to stop for a scone and pay quite a bit more than that.

Think I’ll try another page in my colouring book today.

I love colouring but not if the colour's aren't what is on the cap.

NSD for me today. First day back and back to normal means days of no spending. Yippee.
Boss found out about engagement and told the world. Lots of fuss and hugs and well wishes and boss went out and got me a beautiful box of chocolates which I shared out. He is a good man.
Now going home to freezer leftovers of bean chilli for me and fish pie for OH. Think DD has quorn sausage hash browns and peas. Nom

Went to Lidl for milk and cheese, ended up spending £54. But £30 was on a new rotary line we've been meaning to buy for ages and I'm very happy with it. I wanted to spend more than £35 to get bonus points. I would recommend the pistachio brioche, if you want a sweet and sticky pastry. I need to buy wellies for my DD so I looked at the paw patrol wellies. None her size but DS, shopping with me was not happy we didn't buy him paw patrol trainers. He's just got new trainers.

It's our 44th wedding anniversary tomorrow. We don't buy presents, or go out to dinner, just a card but will probably have a takeaway . The time has gone so quickly it's unbelievable!

My mum was a phenomenal woman if I am half the mother she was ill be an happy lady. She had her qwerks and mannerisms but don't we all.

Small shop at Lidl £36.26 and Home Bargains £4.84 The cat was down to her last sachet so definitely needed but also bought tub of Celebrations in Lidl on special offer at £3.95 and put away for Christmas. I don't eat chocolate myself so they'll be quite safe!!

That's a great price @Rainbow1961 😊. All th3 better you won't eat them before Christmas, not like here , we have scoffed half the Halloween stash already 😱😁.

Today, £13 butchers and £23 Sainsbury’s.
Scones all made and in the freezer. Mum took some around to a neighbour bur there are plenty left for church. I love baking and its an easy way to help out.
