Who's birthday @DirtyGertiefromno30? Have a brilliant time!
Ooohhh better WiFi is totally worth it @RumBananaSundae I struggled for ages with mine until I got an extender thingy bob. Really saves me a lot of screaming.

Park and library today. Free
Charity shop for toy for DD and a green jump suit for me £9.50. got jumpsuit home to wash and it's brand new with tags. Boom. I was not going to buy anything new for holiday this year as I can make do, but this will make me happy and I can wear this weekend to a birthday party too.
Then went home for a cuppa with a friend.
Then to another park with free bouncy castles and games with DD and her friend. £7 on ice cream. I shouldn't have had one but oh my goodness gracious. It was like a Ferraro Roche (can't spell) Cornetto and seriously the best thing I've ever tasted in my life.
£10 on yoga tonight which will keep me sane

Frugal25 · 11/08/2026 18:27

oh and £4 on a DVD for DD. Frozen 2. We have both wanted it for a while and I'm hoping it arrives before we go away so it will be a nice start to our holiday

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 11/08/2026 18:59

Its my DD2’s birthday today @Frugal25 😊❤️ . Mum was cooking on gas today too, bless her 🥰.
Sounds like you've had a lovely day! What a bargain that jumpsuit was, brand new with tags too! 😄 Perfect for the party this weekend. And that ice cream sounds bloody gorgeous 😂🍦 Sometimes you've just gotta have it! £10 for yoga to keep you sane sounds money well spent to me sweetheart 😂❤️
Hope the dvd comes before you go on hols sweetheart 🤗

We're getting 36 degrees on Thursday, foul.
Been buying a few autumn bits for DD today spent approx £40 for three dresses and some dungas. Not going to get too much this year (she says..... Hmmmm)
Also some school dresses that's from a separate pot so I won't declare.
£4 on sushi rice (yum)
£2.7 on apples
Approx £10 spent on unnecessary fuel so I have put £10 in my fuel pot. I chose to go to a further away shopping place than necessary.
Had a free Starbucks too.
Little Starbucks hack if anybody is interested. For 500 stars you can have one 'hand crafted ' drink but for 130 you can have Americano so basically 4 drinks for price of one add plenty of vanilla syrup in and tbh I'm as satisfied as my fancy fancy ones!

Meant to post that yesterday it didn't post 😆

Good morning everyone 🔆
Up to see Mum who is fine but flat out ATM hence my bring on MN 🤣.
Hopefully a non spend day 🤞. Welsh water have been to do the leak hopefully this will be the end of it 🙄 Not holding my breath but we shall see🙏🤗.
36 degrees Thursday @Ovoemconserva?! Foul! 😩😂
You did well with DD’s clothes though, 3 dresses and dungas for £40. School dresses are a separate pot so don’t count! 😂
Sushi rice and apples are essentials 😂 Good for putting the £10 fuel back too.
Love that Starbucks hack, 130 stars for an Americano with loads of vanilla syrup sounds a bargain ☕️😂
I love a free Starbucks 💪👏😁🥳.
Hope everyone has a lovely day and keeps cool 😎

A few days off here due to illness- I’m not well and DD has yet another ear infection.
Due to be 34 here tomorrow, once again the heatwave and DP night shifts have coincided! Thankfully looks like we might finally have some rain next week! DD and I are actually away next week and pleased to see it looks cooler where we are going.

Ovoemconserva · 12/08/2026 13:39

Were currently sat in McDonald's I'm absolutely taking our time whenever possible today it's boiling hot and I want to avoid it where possible.

Frugal25 · 12/08/2026 14:45

Oh your poor DD and you @Cuwins do you both have meds? Hope you both feel better very very soon.

It's boiling here but I'm at work. Currently caught between my boss and a colleague and it's causing issues despite me being transparent with both of them. Having an awful day.

So glad your mum is ok @DirtyGertiefromno30and yay for your DD birthday 🎈 🎂 do you have lovely plans??

Ooohhh Starbucks hack, thank you @Ovoemconserva. Get a mcflurry whilst your in maccy ds.

She is on antibiotics (or anti-buckets as she calls them). I just need to increase my inhalers and wait it out.

Ovoemconserva · 12/08/2026 16:30

Your welcome!

We didn't have mcflurrys this time as she had a chocolate coin and a wafer straw and god knows what she found in my bag that to be honest I don't want to think about when she was being quiet and I just enjoyed the silence at Starbucks 😆.

Don't underestimate how poorly certain medications can make you in this weather. Work should be making appropriate adaptations.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 12/08/2026 17:22

Oh no, bless the both of you @Cuwins. Another ear infection for your DD 😞. But haha at the Anti buckets 😂 . Hope they kick in quickly and you both start feeling better too. 34 degrees with DP on nights, typical! 🙄 At least it looks cooler where you’re going next week. Fingers crossed for some rain too we need it desperately to put the fires out here 🙏.

It's definitely a take your time sorting of day today @Ovoemconserva , it’s far too hot to be rushing about! 🥵 .Glad you got some peace at Starbucks, although probably best not to investigate what she found in your bag to keep her so occupied 😂 . The chocolate coin and wafer straw clearly did the job and l read that and wanted one too 🤣!

Oh bless you @Frugal25 sounds like you’ve had an awful day in work 😖. Especially being stuck between your boss and colleague when you’ve been transparent with them both. Hope they sort it out soon it's not fair on you to be piggy in the middle sweetheart especially in this heat 🥵.
Aw thank you Mum was fine after she woke up too, bless her. Re DD’s birthday 🎂🎈. We are keeping it low key tbh she's going out with her boyfriend for a nice dinner bless her . . We had cake etc earlier except l didn't because of the Coeliacs of course 😱.
Never mind as long as she is happy.

Yesterday was nearly a no spend day but I spent £2.88 in Sainsbury’s (£2.50 was on a bottle of juice). Today has been 66p in Aldi.

Happy (belated) Birthday to your daughter and glad your mum is OK @DirtyGertiefromno30. Sorry you are missing out on the cake.

Hope the MOT was OK @Theworldisyouroystercatcher.

Winner on the jumpsuit @Frugal25. And somewhere to go so win win. Sorry about your awful day. I hope tomorrow is better. And that you have a nice evening.

Sorry you’re not feeling well @Cuwins. Feel better soon. And your daughter too. May the anti buckets kick in soon.

Had a lovely time yesterday with my friend. It was nice being out in the sun. Not sure I’ll be enjoying tomorrow as much. It’s meant to be 38 and I’ll be inside. Just tried my eclipse glasses and they actually work. Will plod off outside later for a proper look.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 12/08/2026 19:27

Ooh that’s a good spend @RumBananaSundae, especially £2.50 of the £2.88 being juice And only 66p today , you’re doing very well indeed 😁👏.
So hlad you had a lovely time with your friend yesterday too 😊. But 38C tomorrow 😳 I definitely wouldn’t be rushing outside in that 🥵! 😂 Good that the eclipse glasses work, hope you got a good view . And thank you so much for the birthday wishes for my Dd and for asking after my Mum , bless you sweetheart ❤️

Well that was that 😆

Frugal25 · 12/08/2026 19:40

NSD for me today.

And I'm not going to lie, I expected more from the eclipse!!!
Considering it was 90/95% coverage it was just as bright here although the birds did settle down so they could tell the difference clearly.
Glad the eclipse glasses worked @RumBananaSundaeand well done for getting your hands on them!

Instead of me sending you all rain, the heat has come this way again! It was 30 here today (NE). This summer is endless! Today was my last day in for 11 days 🎉

Sorry to hear it was a bad day at work @Frugal25 honestly too hot for such behaviour! Well on any day really.

Ah no hope both you and DD feel well soon @Cuwins

Definitely the kind of weather to be taking it slowly @Ovoemconserva

Yes I was underwhelmed. Caught it on camera as DH spotted the eclipse behind some clouds. Waited for it to go dark with my back to it as I'd missed the memo about getting glasses but it got light again! Was that it? 😂

Hope the glasses worked @RumBananaSundae well done on snaring a pair.

Pleased to hear that Nana Pumpkin is well @DirtyGertiefromno30 and hope the heat is not bothering the residents too much. Happy birthday to your DD 🎊

I've been quite good this week, so far two trips to the coop for £19, Costco for £51 and Lidl for £28.67. Totted up cycle spends so far and I'm within the food and social budget, however the holiday and days out spending is high!

Frugal25 · 13/08/2026 13:01

I'll say this quickly and then maybe it won't be as much....
£98 in Lidl
£26 in Sainsbury's (going in person not ordering online did save about £40)
£10.55 on swimming session today
£10.65 on swimming session for next week with the water slide
£14 on sinkies for holiday to get DD even better at swimming.

That had better be it. It was all on credit card as I have nothing left until pay day next week. My neighbours are moving in a couple of days so is the Sainsbury's I did get them a discounted candle for £1.50 and also got one for the new neighbour too as a welcome.

38 here today. Spending the rest of the day at home now. I would like to be in the garden but won't be for long as DD doesn't cope with the heat much. @Lockin26apologies I thought you wanted to swap the rain for the sun... Looks like the sun got to you and the rain got lost in the post.

Hope everyone is ok.

Ovoemconserva · 13/08/2026 15:14

Well it's far too frigging hot here it's disgusting.
£7 Lidl on breckfast bits but that'll last a couple of days.
£4 in Starbucks. At this point I'm basically funding their store.

Lockin26 · 13/08/2026 16:59

Good bargains in Starbucks though @Ovoemconserva I'm going to the drive through with DD (15) later, wish me luck with that one 😂

@Frugal25 sorry the rain is lost in the post 😊 38 is unbearable. Don't move unless you have to!

It's stifling here today. Taking DHs car to take DD to her activity, as he has proper air con, unlike mine which is an older car. Trying not to be outing but it's a cold building so we are not completely mad.

Lidl was £51 and as mentioned there will be a Starbucks bill later!
