Oh at least you got warning @DirtyGertiefromno30ane you can stock up on Dutch courage for dealing with more dressing gowns!

Glorious sunshine here... Where is the rain?!

A spendy one.
£83 in Lidl. Only a small shop so god knows what on.
£20 on getting into an animal sanctuary which I like to support.
£3 on an ice cream there.
£6 on 2 build your own sand shape things. you know where you layer different colours of sand inside a glass shape? DD first time and adored it.

Then. Oh my god. I need tea. And a sit down.
Went to the vets with the kittens. Then need flea treatment.
I remember it being £50 for my last cat. These two....£250!!
That's cos they are new clients apparently. That vets really do over charge. I'm going to get it online from now on and weigh then myself to ensure I get thenright dose.
Had to wack it on my credit card. Which made me sad.
Told OH who was like me and "wtf". But he paid the money to me so it's not extra on my credit card but with the promise from me of doing it online in future. I can't keep that up every 3 months. Even without the "new client" fee.

Rant over. I need a cuppa. A strong one. And a sit.
Going to spend the rest of the day in the garden I think. We have been out since 7.30am

Cuwins · 06/08/2026 16:20

£10 for soft play and a Greggs lunch in the park.

RumBananaSundae · 06/08/2026 18:44

£2.99 on a Greggs TGTG. Reason being it’s to collect later and I’ve not left the house today so I’ll have to go out,

Oh @DirtyGertiefromno30 I saw some pictures of the mountain fire. It’s not good. I hope you’re not too near. Is the Robe of Doom still in play? How are you doing today?

Sunshine here too @Frugal25. How much for flea treating???? I have been thinking of you these past few mornings. Two cats have taken to playing outside my windows and one is entirely black. I say playing but I they’re trying to fight but don’t know how to.

More HR dealings today. Piguanas all of them. I have six weeks. And to reiterate no good deed goes unpunished I convinced someone to not go for VR and now they are keeping their job. Talk about me feeling like a mug.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 06/08/2026 19:20

That’s some spendy day @Frugal25 😱 £250 for flea treatment would have had me choking on my tea! I’d definitely be buying it online from now on too. At least OH paid you back bless him, so it’s not hanging over your credit card. ❤️ The animal sanctuary sounds lovely and DD’s sand things sound brilliant! 😁 After being out since 7.30am, you really did deserve a strong cuppa, a sit down and an afternoon doing bugger all in the garden! 🌞🌿

Evening everyone 🤗
NSD for me , been to see Mum who has a UTI but has had the antibiotics and it's just a question of time till she is fully well again . I have been so good l have eaten leftovers out of the fridge 🤗.
Cheaper play and lunch for you today @Cuwins well done 👏🤗.

OP posts:
Ovoemconserva · 06/08/2026 19:30

Definitely buy the treatment online it's so much cheaper!
Do you have a bakers dozen cats and have forgotten to tell us? £250!!!

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 06/08/2026 19:33

£2.99 for a Greggs TGTG is such a bargain @RumBananaSundae and at least it’s forcing you out of the house later!
The mountain fire looks awful, l know and it's close but it's nowhere near us we are safe thank you for caring so sweet of you 🤗. And The Robe of Doom is not making an appearance now 😂 .DH is much better , except his arm is still sore bless him 🤗.
More HR nonsense 🙄 honestly, Piguanas ! 😡😖 . Only six weeks more you’ll get through it . Tbh with you l don't know why you don't go on gardening leave and sod the lot of them ! And typical you convince someone not to take VR and now they’re keeping their job 😱 ! No good deed really does go unpunished bless you sweetheart ❤️

That's a great day out @Cuwins used to take DC to the park near my DMs and a Greggs, one of my favourite days.

@DirtyGertiefromno30 there was a huge fire near my friend who lives your way. I maybe headed that way again next weekend - I'll bring some cloud and rain with me. My washing got soaked again today 😂

OMG that is a lot for flea treatment @Frugal25 well cared for kitties but yes definitely try DIY in the future. Boo to vets

Hope the TGTG bag was good @RumBananaSundae what do you get from Greggs? Sorry work are piguanas still.

Spent £66 at Lidl this morning
£40 on an Indian takeaway. Not bad for four of us.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 06/08/2026 22:43

£66 in Lidl seems to disappear so quickly these days @Lockin26, but £40 for an Indian for four isn’t bad at all. 😋
And yes, please bring that rain with you next weekend, we could definitely do with it! I hope you still enjoy yourself here though 🤗

Frugal25 · 07/08/2026 15:00

Found flea treatment that I used on previous cats and worked absolutely fine for £20 every 3 months. I'll be doing this!! Ha ha if DD had her way we would indeed have more cats @Ovoemconserva!!! She wants 34 she tells me
How was the Indian? @Lockin26
I haven't had a tgtg from Greggs before but it feels like I'm missing out. Was it delicious @RumBananaSundae? Urgh, so sorry about colleague staying. Hate the way life is so unfair at times.
Ahhhh beautiful cats!!! Did they appear this morning? May e you should adopt!!
How is your mum today @DirtyGertiefromno30 are the staff paying attention to her water intake? It seems she is all ok when you are there but seems to get utis when you're not. Although they are probably over stretched bless them.

Frugal25 · 07/08/2026 15:00

Oh. NSD today. Forgot to say. Have some homemade cheese sauce defrosting from freezer so that will go on pasta later with a salad.

Cuwins · 07/08/2026 15:13

£10 here on lunch at work. DD had a lovely trip out with auntie and auntie paid so that’s a bonus!

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 07/08/2026 15:25

Afternoon everyone 😊
Mum seems a little better today thank you @Frugal25 🤗. I do worry about whether she’s drinking enough you are right their hydration is never a priority there . She seems alright for a while then somehow ends up with another UTI , it's probably age related and to be expected l know . They’re probably stretched to the limit the staff bless them, but I do think they need to keep an eye on her and the other residents fluids too.
Ooooh NSD! 👏 Homemade cheese sauce from the freezer sounds perfect. Pasta, cheese sauce and salad easy tea and no spending, can’t beat it! 😋
AHH @Cuwins that sounds like a lovely day for your DD bless her ❤️.
Spent £9 in Tesco on Alpro Almond Milk and gf rolls . £28 Aldi on bits and pieces . Not a lot to show for it .
Lovely weather here hope everyone is having a lovely day 😊

Ovoemconserva · 07/08/2026 17:17

£5 on a face painting.
£2.21 ice lolly. Could literally buy a packet for less but I didn't want the argument
£9 coffee
Will be £12 Chinese

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 07/08/2026 18:20

Enjoy the Chinese @Ovoemconserva that seems very reasonable 😋

OP posts:
Ovoemconserva · 07/08/2026 18:56

It's actually been £19.2 as we had an extra dish tonight.
It's called a meal deal you get rice crispy beef 2x spare ribs prawn toast spring roll and chicken fried rice and it's around £11.5 usually that's more than enough for us two and it's not even MN chicken appetites.
I was wondering the other day how our Jersey friend is getting on? Loved her talking about going to the beach at night with the kids last summer.

RumBananaSundae · 07/08/2026 18:57

89p today in Sainsbury on jam tarts.

Thank you @DirtyGertiefromno30. Some days I do give myself a day off. Sorry Nana P isn’t well. I hope she’s on the mend soon.

You’re taking all the rain @Lockin26. None here today. I’d rather like some. TGTG had macaroni cheese, cheese bites, potato wedges and some chicken bits so most of it is useable and now in the freezer. You get so much in their bags but I did get 16 sausage rolls once. How was your takeaway?

The cats have been playing outside for a few days @Frugal25. They don’t seem to be being very nice to each other. Not tempted in the least. One a lady in the building takes her’s out in a pram.

Good on auntie @Cuwins.

Didn’t have the best day today. On one hand I want this work stuff to be done but on the other having no income is another ballgame. Made it as far as across the street. Am determined to go for a run tomorrow.

Frugal25 · 07/08/2026 19:55

No rain here either.... I may start doing a rain dance soon...
Although I now have images of Sandra bullock from the proposal dancing around a fire chanting.

Oh no, cats fighting isn't as cute. A cat in a pram is cute though. Obviously very loved.

I often thing of Jersey friend. And Scottish friend too. Do miss them.

So glad nana pumpkin is on the mend. Phew.

Wow, that takeaway is very good value. I may move to your neck of the woods. Bet it was delicious too.

DD in bed, OH out, it's all about me catching up with sewing bee tonight!!!! Bring it on.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 07/08/2026 20:58

AHH l know @Ovoemconserva l loved our Scottish & Jersey girls posts , hope everything is ok with them both and their families 🤗.
That Chinese is amazing value WOW!
l am so greedy l would have it every night 🤣
Ohh jam tarts again @RumBananaSundaeblooming delicious 😋. Nanna P is recovering very well bless her heart thank you so much ❤️ . Got everything crossed for you sweetheart ❤️
