The gf eating is not very nice tbh with you @RumBananaSundae, l could have eaten the TGTG bag to myself tonight the crispy breadcrumbs on the chicken 🙄 😂. 89p jam tarts is a bargain! Your pasta salad sounds lovely, even if you’ll never be able to recreate it. 😂 Eggs tomorrow sounds much easier!
Train fares are absolutely ridiculous. Cheaper to fly to Switzerland than get a train to London is just bonkers! Hope you manage to sort a nice day out with your friend though sweetheart. 🤞🙏

Oh I adore jam tarts and just been reading Nancy birtwhistles recipe for them too. Delicious.

NSD today. Swimming was paid for already and now I'm wise to the vending machine mini cheddars I take some from home, give them to DD before we pass the machine so she doesn't even look up. Boom. Went to pick up and pay for jewelry but the shop had closed early. So we went to the park with a ball for the afternoon.
Not going to yoga tonight. My teacher is on holiday and I'm not a fan of the sub. Saves £10. Going to have a bath instead, I went through bathroom cupboard at the weekend and found some posh bath salts I'd forgotten about.
Should be a NSD tomorrow too.

RumBananaSundae · 04/08/2026 17:22

£5.80 in a combination of Asda, sainsbury and Aldi. I bought a big bottle but I think that means I’ll just drink more.

Oh @DirtyGertiefromno30 I’m sorry about the gluten free. Is there anything you particularly miss? Today’s eggs were very nice. I threw some leftover truffle butter in just for fun.

I have become a great fan of jam tarts @Frugal25. No idea what it is about them. I’m a savoury person usually but jam tarts are rather amazing. Good thinking with the mini cheddars. What bath salts do you have? Hope your bath is relaxing.

Quite a nice breezy day today. We’ve had a thimbleful of rain. Would say the grass needed it but I don’t think it noticed. And now my windows are smeary.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 04/08/2026 17:36

Brilliant you had a NSD @Frugal25. The tactical Mini Cheddars passed to your DD before she spots the vending machine has made me laugh! Very clever move 🤣. Shame about the jewellery shop, but a park and ball sounds like a good Plan B.
Ohh posh bath salts, now you are talking enjoy! 😁👏

I really miss proper sponge cakes, scones, pastries , Morrisons cheese crusty rolls too and Walkers cheese and onion crisps are another one I really miss @RumBananaSundae. That’s just a few of the things on my ever growing gluten free missing list! 🤣
£5.80 isn’t bad at all, although I think you’re right about the big bottle 😂 You’ll probably find yourself drinking twice as much just because it’s there! The eggs with truffle butter sound delicious. And I’m with you on the jam tarts, there’s something ridiculously moreish about them 😋
We had a bit of rain here too, but definitely not enough to impress the grass! Typical that it’s enough to make the windows filthy though 🙄😂

Afternoon everyone 🤗
Rain here but not enough and l did dry my washing thankfully. Mum was fine there today thank God and the water ppl have been back to look at the leak so everything in the garden is rosy 😁.
NSD for me today but going to Costco tomorrow so will probably spend a few Bob there 🤣.
Have a lovely evening everyone 😊

Soft play and lunch in the cafe today so approx £30

Frugal25 · 04/08/2026 19:08

Oh @DirtyGertiefromno30. What is diff with the gf ones? Are they just not as tasty or is it the texture? Would making your own and playing about with flavours/ texture work? No rain here, quite envious even if you do have dirty windows now! Glad your lovely mummy was ok xx
@RumBananaSundaeif it's a big bottle of milk, fill your boots. 20% wine, maybe just a glass :) how do you shop for so little every day? I'm intrigued. You seem to find bargains. I think coz of the pastry, jam tarts tend to appeal to everyone:) yum! I found some lavender bath salts and champneys bath soak. It's divine. Oh no, you have dirty windows too....
Hopefully tomorrow I can join you both with the thimble full of rain and dirty windows!!
Soft play adds up doesn't it @Cuwins.

Bring on the sewing bees. Must catch up from last week. No spoilers please xx

Cuwins · 04/08/2026 19:11

Wish we had rain- had literally 30 sec of the tiniest sprinkle earlier and I got excited.

Ovoemconserva · 04/08/2026 19:38

Bring me rain!

Though tbh it wouldn't rain attractive men here it's probably rain Onslows knowing my luck.

Expensive ISH yet necessary ISH day here today which has been split between DH and I. Tbh I wouldn't know where to begin! So I might have to have a month eye and say so long as I'm still in the black at the end of it.

Theworldisyouroystercatcher · 05/08/2026 06:13

Absolutely poured down here. Good for the garden. Not so much for the 2 lots of washing I put out.
Last 2 days nsd as waiting in for internet to be changed to a different provider. Thoroughly cleaned house.
Today excitingly I want to buy a radiator brush as one of ours is minging

Lockin26 · 05/08/2026 06:34

Sorry missed a couple of days.

Yesterday was £5.96 and £13.19 in Lidl (lunch stuff and top up). £4.40 Coop
Paid £6 for DD to get into the leisure club I use, so we could swim last night.

Tipped down here yesterday and a bit last night. Love jam tarts my late MIL used to make them so made me think of her ❤️

Frugal25 · 05/08/2026 16:55

Alright you lot. Stop rubbing it in that you have rain. I got excited earlier as a massive black cloud came over..... And then blew straight across with not even a drop.
Grass is very yellow.

NSD today whooooo.
OH birthday today so DD and I made and iced a cake at lunchtime. Oh. Reminds me. Must add eggs to shopping list as he wanted eggy bread this weekend. Nom.
Will blow up the balloons at 5. Can't do them before that or the kittens will pop them.

How is everyone today?

Ovoemconserva · 05/08/2026 17:02

We keep getting little look what you could be having rain pours but nothing exciting I can't wait for a really fabulous autumnal storm.

Cuwins · 05/08/2026 17:24

Only non essential today was £15 in McDonald’s. But did also get petrol

RumBananaSundae · 05/08/2026 18:44

£4.12 today in Aldi. I got two packets of half price cherries.

I’m sorry @DirtyGertiefromno30. I never used to eat gluten (I used to live with a gluten free person) and it gets everywhere. I remember the excitement at finding gluten free ready made pastry. Hope you’re OK (and nanna P too).

I love lavender @Frugal25. I hope your bath was fab. I bet they made it 1,000 times better. Any rain for you today? We had another thimbleful. I don’t know why it bothered. No one noticed. We have hard mud with patches of crispy yellowish brown things. Happy birthday OH. Enjoy the cake.

Had to laugh at that @Ovoemconserva. It would be Onslows here too. Second you on the storm.

Work was rubbish but hey how else would it be. HR are knobs. They’re worse than politicians with answering questions. Am trying to ration the milk but it’s not working out too well. It would be cheaper to buy a cow.

Rainbow1901 · 05/08/2026 19:06

£15 on Bowling for GCs - booked online you got a school holiday deal for morning sessions plus £10 for GCs to mess about on machines.

Thoughts and prayers to grandpa Hedgehog.
Does he think you've also lost your memory and so need reminding regularly of his extreme illness?

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 05/08/2026 20:40

Soft play and lunch £30 seems a lot @Cuwins but that's the going rate l know , everything is so expensive.
Hope you get some rain soon 🤞.
@Frugal25 the gf ones are so dry and overly sweet too. l am not a fan tbh and yes l should make my own , my Dd1said she will bake for me bless her heart . She made me some choc chip cookies today and they were lovely 😋.
We all have months like that @Ovoemconserva just go with the flow sweetheart it's pointless stressing 🤗. 🤞For rain 🤗.
Oh you lucky thing with the pouring rain 🌧️ @Theworldisyouroystercatcher
@Lockin26oh big hugs sweetheart it's so bittersweet remembering our beloveds ❤️.
Omg happy birthday to your beloved DH @Frugal25you and DD have done him proud bless you ❤️
@RumBananaSundae sorry about your damn work HR they are Piguanas too! Thank you re my Mum she is fine thank God 🙏 . I think that was very unselfish of you to give up gluten for the gluten free person you lived with . I am sure they appreciated it . I am ok it's just early days yet l just have to get on with it 🤗
Crikey that's a great deal @Rainbow1901 the DGC will love it 😁

Well I tempted fate, it's now windy and fresh here but rain has gone! Hope the rain works its way down to parts of the land it has forgotten!

Today I seemed to spend too much on work food. £5.39 Boots,.£2 Poundland, £2.80 Tesco. I'm now off for four days, goal is to stock up and then take lunch to work for entire five days next week.

Dressing gown of doom made me smile @DirtyGertiefromno30 pleased you felt okay at least!

Boo to HR knobs @RumBananaSundae

Hope everyone is okay - will try to catch up properly soon.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 05/08/2026 22:30

I will gladly take your rain and swap it for high humidity and smoky air from the mountain fire @Lockin26 😁.
Have a lovely 4 days off sweetheart.
Worse than the dressing gown of doom, we have to have another Shingles jab in 6 months and apparently the side effects are far worse the second jab . I am not telling him Nanny Pumpkins the word shush 🤫🤐🤣
