Am I wrong to feel the people of this country are using the "Cost of Living" narrative to justify not helping migrants and refugees who seek refuge for themselves? Neglecting our British values, passing the buck to Rwanda and European countries. The attitude towards those fleeing war zones and risking everything to come to this country on harsh waters is outrageous!

I was in the corner shop today and over heard a couple of women making digs about foreigners. To make unjustified claims such as "it makes us unsafe", "we don't have jobs" or my personal favourite - "they don't integrate into society." What on earth has happened to our British values? To make others feel welcome and to help others in need of help!

Every human has a right to safety, affordable housing, food, water, education and a healthcare system. Those are all things our wonderful country can provide and quite frankly has a moral obligation to provide for those coming from other parts of the world that aren't as fortunate as us.

And I agree with you, I am not happy that happens. It's not what our faith is about. Some people have taken it to the extreme and I am also concerned about that and that version radicalising my own children who may hear it from other Muslim children in school or mosques.

The sooner some sort of system is brought in the better clearly, if you are here with a valid reason and able to work filling employment gaps great. If not then sent straight back. How does Australia and other countries where you can’t just show up manage?

How will it change though if Muslims don't call it out . Peaceful Muslims need to be much more vocal about extreme behaviour and that for one thing would stop British people thinking all Muslims are complicit.

It’s more of a matter with birth rates. Things are drastically changing where I am.

It's a struggle I do my bit when I speak out I get drowned out but the extremists. It's not easy.

I think we have become tok tolerant something that like needs to be stopped straight away I don't know what the government should do to help make it known these actions are not tolerated.

I think it's more like bullying right people don't speak out cos of fear and repercussions best to stay silent. It can still be small number but it's done through fear and easier for others to just go along and stay silent

The problem is that this is the only country I know of that there is so much pearl clutching and it is becoming like a self hate nation. Bully with racist and bigotry name calling. Bloody hell that is rich to say to us when their religion and culture is so backwards. We have had much better immigration in the past. One that did not create problems with their religion extremists and that really propped up the economy. I look forward to be called a racist in person. Because that would have real consequences in terms of the law. They as far as I am concerned would not get away with it any longer.

That won’t work here. Australia have points based immigration system and a much tighter legal system.

@Fairness4 It is a very serious accusation to be throw away casually. The ramifications and consequences they may have on a citizen are serious However, your doubts seem to proof how bad it has become. I encourage people to voice their concerns. We should not feel defeated for wanting the best for our community and country. It is fair.

Can’t say I don’t disagree with Fairness4. It’s hard not feel defeated, the rights we hold are fast disappearing. As she said previously. They have 10 times the births.

Actually yeah. Many immigrants who can vote here (commonwealth) were Brexit voters to swing where immigrants are allowed to come in from.

Immigrants are coming from all over. Mainly the Middle East!
