hi,like many food etc is a constant concern so have changed to Aldi as my main shop as was finding Asda getting expensive and often finding up to 10ish items out of stock

I already find Aldi stock levels much better and less choice is a huge bonus but would be good to see what other shoppers like and recommend

i love the soft seeded loaf so good and a bargain at £1.20 ish
copy of fanta and Lilt 6 cans £1.60 and big bottles 60p huge bargain
9 good toilet rolls £1.99 bargain m waiting for that price to increase

please add your i might find some more gems

I love the protein puddings , the filled pasta , sourdough pizzas

The fruit is good for me and lasts a while

qwertyy1234 · 23/02/2023 11:23

I LOVE the chocolate swirl brioche loaf. Not sure how much it is but it isn't expensive. The issue is not eating the whole thing 😂

ItsTheSmallThings · 23/02/2023 11:30

I just love the middle aisles

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 23/02/2023 12:06

Their grated mozzarella is lovely. Sachets of yeast are half the price of Morrisons and seem to do a better job. Their ice cream is nice. I don't rate their white bread though. I find it quite dry.

Whole · 23/02/2023 12:09

Aldi fresh (fruits and veg) are good

Luckingfovely · 23/02/2023 12:19

I find the meat pretty good.

Yoghurts, cold meats, pates, and cheeses are always great.

Frozen chicken bits, frozen potatoes, ice creams, frozen fish all good.

Skincare, perfumes, candles etc are all lovely and on permanent rotation.

Love the Tiger Bread loaf.

Things like sausage rolls and dips, ready meals, are not great imo.

TheFormidableMrsC · 23/02/2023 12:20

I love their tubs of crushed avocado with chilli. Fantastic cheese selection. Puddings. Cleaning products. Skincare when it's in stock, particularly the Q10 serum. Part baked dinner rolls. Their version of hand cooked chips. Super six fruit and veg weekly. Skin on fries. Pizza. Steak.

thebestsellingshow · 23/02/2023 12:34

The salt and pepper frozen chips are lovely! Their cereals and biscuits are so much cheaper and taste better, especially the chocolate digestives. We only eat the Aldi baked beans now too.

cobblers123 · 23/02/2023 12:48

I'm not a baked bean fan and would usually buy Branston but I tried a tin of Aldi's baked beans and I now buy theirs to keep a couple in the cupboard.

GasPanic · 23/02/2023 16:57

For me their meat is very good, and fish. Some very nice steak cuts at reasonable prices. Lamb shanks are very good.

Their veg I am not so keen on - usually find it doesn't last so well. Fruit is generally OK.

Anything from their "specially selected" range is generally very good, if a bit more pricey.

The problem I tend to find more with them is that there is not enough there to do a complete shop. For example they used to do a nice frozen beef mince, but now they no longer do that. Since it's a staple food in many meals not offering it means I have to go elsewhere, which means they lose business from me on some ocassions. I think they need to focus more on making sure they supply all the basics and less on tat in the ailse of wonder.

slamfightbrightlight · 23/02/2023 17:00

They’ve got a view plain protein yoghurt - something mad like 52g of protein in a tub for 270 calories.

PatChaunceysFruitCake · 23/02/2023 21:07

The Greek style yoghurt. Absolutely lovely.

catskittens · 23/02/2023 21:44

just back from there and god damit the loo roll is now £2.25 same as Lidl now
the middle isle never gets my attention so I agree with GasPanic

my son loves the chocolate digestives

This!! It's amazing

The coconut one is lovely. My clothes smell of my holidays.

I do like their buttery spread - not the Norpak one, the other one with the sunrise on it (too lazy to get up and look). It's about £2.50 and just as good as Lurpak.

Their single country ground coffee weighs in at £2.59, as opposed to about £4+ elsewhere. I like the Indonesian.

Rebel2 · 23/02/2023 22:28

The metro rolls
Protein chocolate mousse
Specially selected pizzas
Fridge raider copies
Lemon curd yoghurt

Honestly I've never had anything bad. Not keen on the squash but that's personal taste

catskittens · 24/02/2023 00:07

i use the bergamont fabric conditioner a really good lasting smell
I also like the high juice at least 40p a bottle cheaper

today my bill was £39 i added what it would cost from Asda at current prices and saved about £10-12 so qpprox 20-25%

happy with that

i like Aldi but cannot recommend the Bramwells cream of tomato soup.

The Greek Yogurt is good.
love the fruit and veg but do not expect them to last.

the Douro red wine (bottle label looks like abstract two men sitting at a little table)

DC love the Colin the Carrott jelly sweets.

The Viennese fingers and Biscoff knock off biccies are good.

The San Pellegrino style drinks are lovely. Highly recommend.

catskittens · 24/02/2023 09:17

how do you find the meat?

OP posts:
Laffinalltheway · 24/02/2023 14:19

Another one here who recommends the baked beans, certainly on a par with Heinz and a fraction of the price. It's the red can and they're called Corale beans.

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 24/02/2023 14:22

I loved their laundry cleanser, it smelled amazing and was great for all our sports kits and school uniform.

I haven't found it in stock for months now though so I'm gutted.

TwoMonthsOff · 24/02/2023 14:29

I got this exact storage caddy for 3.99 in the aisle of tat….9.99 in Lakeland
