Examiner for english language exams. You can do speaking and writing assessment, the other bits are done by a computer. It brings in around 1-2000£ a year

Would this not need a teaching qualification?

Matched betting. I read about it on here many years ago and made £10k tax free over the course of a year or two.

NeedSleepNow · 16/10/2022 21:58

Sorry just seen that you have already done some matched betting.

MerylSqueak · 16/10/2022 21:59

Freelance work for Appen although it is a pain in that you have to register as self employed

caramac04 · 16/10/2022 22:06

What is matched betting please?

MaraScottie · 16/10/2022 22:08

Low risk casino strategy is a good one to follow on from the matched betting. It's not as guaranteed but very lucrative over the long term if you stick to the strategy.

Wait, you can get paid for that? Where do I sign up?!

It is hard work writing a quiz, let alone one a week. I bet@TimeAtTheBar earns every penny. We write family quizzes at christmas and it takes me forever.

Me and my sister used to do one a week and no pay. Loved it. Only stopped because of parent care but dad is gone now so there's less of that.

I would happily write quizzes again for money.

EmmaH2022 · 16/10/2022 22:45

It wasn't hard work at all btw!

bumpytrumpy · 16/10/2022 22:48

Freelance your main job on the side if possible. That's where the real money will come from
Think about your skills / knowledge and apply it to other places, either as a sole trader or consultancy company.

TimeAtTheBar · 16/10/2022 22:49

I used to do it as part of my job. Left the job but kept the quiz gig.

If you can write it (I’ve been doing it a couple of years so down to a fine art) and confidently present it, go and speak to some local pubs!

It’s basically about 4-6 hours work a week for me but I enjoy it and it’s extra money.

Definitelynotem · 17/10/2022 04:36

I do Fiverr and make decent money, approx 5k a year. However, be prepared to work hard for nothing at first to get anywhere in terms of the algorithm, you have to be a really dedicated freelancer and it’s not something you can just pick up as and when. You also really need to be quite expert or skilled in the area, otherwise there will be thousands of other freelancers already more established than you willing to work for cheaper. It can be worthwhile, but by no means an easy side hustle that you can dip in and out of, it’s taken me 3 years to get here.

Have a look at OddsMonkey or ProfitAccumulator....theyre the two main matched betting sites....

I made £1000 on matched betting, and I only did the basic stuff. There’s a lot more to be made if you put some more time into it. You can make a few hundred quid with the start up offers very easily, even if you just did those and nothing else you’ve made enough to pay your extra heating costs. Lots of info online, it’s not a con, nor is it illegal. But the bookies don’t like it and eventually you get your betting account limited. I don’t do it now as I got so many accounts limited and don’t have the time now. But I still get odd £5 free bets and I just put them on as a normal bet and withdraw any winnings straight away. Made £14 last night after Liverpool won

MaraScottie · 17/10/2022 12:27

Team Casino is very lucrative for ne.

saywhatwhatnow · 17/10/2022 20:39

@MaraScottie I've been looking into this. Is it fairly straightforward? And how lucrative is lucrative?
