Loving the thread at the moment, lots of good work going on.
Glad you are getting to visit your dad love
Went out this morning as dd was doing her first parkrun. Was a lovely, if a bit chilly, morning by the river.
Study is going well at the moment, I'm hoping to have it done by end of tomorrow then I'll be caught up and so shouldn't need to lose my weekends if I can organise myself well enough during the weeks...

Unescorted · 15/01/2022 16:14

The pasties were good and it is another thing out of the freezer.

North I hope you are catching up.

I am so tired - whatever this bug is (-ve LFT) is grim.

I have enjoyed having the decs up this year so much tbh, think l am going to put my tree up earlier this year to cheer me up during the very dark days . I am noticing it is getting dark a little later thankfully Smile
NSD today yay!
Love so glad you are able to take the Care homes PCR and go and see your DDad Smile
You are bound to be apprehensive for a while especially driving a different car, you will be fine given a little time Flowers
Unescorted hope you feel much better soon lovely Flowers
Wolf crossing jobs off our list day here today too Smile
Dh has finished making a gate and fence between us and next door neighbours, NDN passed away just before Christmas, we were very friendly for 27 years . We knew when he died we would have to put a fence and gate up before it was sold. lt needed doing for our security but we didn't want to upset him so left it till now . Fence and gate cost about £500 in all but it is finished today yay Smile
North so glad your study is doing great well done to you Smile
Life lemon cake ohhhhh delicious! Smile

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/01/2022 17:20

Lemon cake and fairy cakes baked, I have some baking items that need using so will craft next lot around them. Probably cookies and rasp and choc brownies. Curry make but. £4.50 for dd as she doesn’t like it.

Little bedroom carpet washed. Need a shredder to unpack filing cabinet but will borrow scouts as we are close
-ve pCR again here too but I got antibiotics Thursday and feeling better now. After 5 weeks

Hotel Transylvania 4 tonight as it’s free on prime.

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/01/2022 17:21

I e been reading the right v stingy thread. I’m definitely tight

Mrsmadevans · 15/01/2022 17:44

Ohh life l must look for that, sounds right up my street Grin
Glad you got antibiotics , it was taking forever to go for you Flowers

Mrsmadevans · 15/01/2022 18:09

ohhh thank you Life l have been looking lol & drooling Grin

northender · 16/01/2022 08:59

That thread is a tad extreme life!!
I definitely wouldn't say that those of us on this thread are stingy. To me it's about not wanting to waste money and to make the most of what we have. Other factors come into play too for us like supporting local businesses, avoiding amazon, which we are fortunate enough to be able to do at the moment, even if it costs more

ememem84 · 16/01/2022 09:17

Morning.

£40 yesterday at stables. And £20 coffee shop on lunch for us all after.

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/01/2022 09:25

Agreed north

marthasmum · 16/01/2022 17:46

Yes, frugal is different to stingy. I he a quick look at that thread though and some were frugal weren’t they?
Less frugal day for me but as north says other things came into play… was meeting a friend I’ve not seen for ages at Harewood House. I’d persuaded DD 17 to come with me, it’s really not her thing but she was doing me a favour as she was there for entertainment for friend’s DS. When I arrived I realised my friend had texted just as I’d set off to say she couldn’t make it. Tickets already paid for so I decided to make the most of a rare day out with just me and DD. So we spent £33.50 in the expensive cafe as DD likes her food and I’d normally take sandwiches. Surprisingly she liked the house and the farm and we ended up having a really nice day. Just had a snooze on the sofa!

Unescorted · 16/01/2022 18:45

I saw the way that thread was going and thought I would step away.

Martha Harewood is lovely.

Just reported my +tv. The text I got says I need to isolate for 11 days. I am not happy and I am not sure is right but gov.uk and nhs advice website is different. DS & Dh are -ve and vaxxed so at least they can go out after taking a LFT each day.

Wolfcub · 16/01/2022 19:00

I got sucked into the thread too. Decided not to post. I'm totally shocked at the people stealing strips Of paracetamol and feminax from the supermarket. I knew tip-stealing happens a lot and those stealing from their employers should be done for corporate fraud (misses point of thread entirely)

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/01/2022 19:50

I could not believe people think theft is ok, twats
Definitely not 11 days north. When T&T ring you they will upset after you tell them your vax status

Lovemaltesers · 16/01/2022 20:05

Hope you aren’t feeling too unwell unescorted

Had a sharp chest pain, called 111, who got me an appointment this evening. GP I saw basically said if he had been able to phone triage me, he would not have got me to go in. Just another point in my body with a pain. Wrists are really painful today, but completely mobile.

Mrsmadevans · 16/01/2022 21:06

Martha Harewood house looks beautiful . l must put it on my bucket list Smile
Love aw bless you sweetheart. l am so sorry .l so hope you are able to relax and get some rest and be pain free Flowers
Agree re the thread it wasn't my , our , cup of tea at all , pity though it could have been funny and helpful , still that is the way things go sometimes Life Wolf Unescorted Hmm
North l absolutely agree re the supporting local businesses , l don't know how they have managed to stay open during the pandemic especially the hospitality area. Sad
Tesco 11 bit
2 newspaper
l can honestly say l have never done anything some of the posters have.

ememem84 · 16/01/2022 21:29

Nut roast for late lunch. Was ok. I’m day 16 no meat no booze. Enjoying it so far.

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/01/2022 06:55

Ah love Flowers
Harwood sounds like a wonder day and worth every penny

£20 back from mil for shopping. Need to buy a shredder

ememem84 · 17/01/2022 07:04

Been for a run. Before everyone else got up. Yay

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/01/2022 10:20

Fuck sake, blocked drain. Not envy >>> Envy called the professional as can’t do it myself.
And leaking shower which I can do myself

Unescorted · 17/01/2022 12:38

love that sucks. Hope the pain is controlled soon.

Em nice one.

Life that house keeps giving.

Mrs It is my favourite stately home. Says she that lives within easy visiting distance of Chatsworth and Lyme Park. It has a more real feel instead of oversized dolls house crossed with a museum.

I feel rubbish. I tried to work this morning but it is beyond me. I can't hold thoughts for more than 3seconds.... Let alone make sense of the word soup that hits my mail box.

OP posts:
ememem84 · 17/01/2022 12:48

Sigh. DH has shingles.

Unescorted · 17/01/2022 12:53

Shingles is nasty. Hope he gets his antivirals and they work

OP posts:
ememem84 · 17/01/2022 13:40

Me too. He has anti virals now. So fingers. Crossed.

In non frugal news I’ve just spent £2800 on tiles for our ground floor.
