ememem84 · 11/01/2022 09:40

Couch update. Am going to store today to ask questions.

And if not have found something similar in m&s. Cheaper. Quicker delibery

ememem84 · 11/01/2022 13:26

Bought a couch. £2034. Navy cord. From m&s. 12 weeks to arrive. Yay. Used some gift cards to pay for it and then whacked it on cc and have already paid this off as had money saved for couch. Yay.

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/01/2022 15:30

Hurrah for new couch

SingToTheSky · 11/01/2022 15:53

Glad you found an alternative, such a pain about Next.

I’ve had a not spendy time lately. Sunday NSD, yesterday £14.99 on a TV series download (works out far cheaper than DVD). That’s it other than direct debits (stuff like zoom for tutoring).

Got some house/organisey type spends looming I think, and I’ll soon need to order more revision/study guide type stuff for DD1. As well as a chemistry GCSE workbook for me so I can study a bit to understand what DS is doing - he started with a chemistry tutor in autumn and will be moving onto GCSE curriculum soon. 😀

I think this is the longest into a new year we’ve gone without a takeaway 🤣😳

Unescorted · 11/01/2022 18:00

love hope you have a less stressful week than anticipated.
Em glad you found a couch replacement. Next is quite an odd company at times.
Sing I have just given away ds's GCSE guides. Try your local Facebook freebie group. Now is top give GCSE books away ... First declutter time after exam results. It has got to the stage around here that people can't get rid of them.

NSD - and dinner is cooked, wine given to me by DMum. I am going to have a chilled evening.

I feel your pain, have spent a lot of time at work talking the year 9s through it. Is there a particular choice that's proving tricky?
Unescorted · 11/01/2022 20:47

Options are so difficult. It took DD 3 tried before her school were happy. DS changed his after 1st term. Humbug I am not sure which is the worst place to be....parent child or teacher.

Wolf we are being strung out too. I have done 22 hours already this week. It is only going to get busier.

It’s a pain isn’t em? I left mine to go dormant years ago. Then moved a few times 🤣 didn’t owe anything though.

Today should be NSD, need to return 2 things for refunds. Another return in a few days, when I receive the email with the code.

floatinginmyhomie · 12/01/2022 14:52

Hi I didn’t realise how long I fell off for. The jab knocked me for six and my DM got covid so I didn’t have her to help out with the DC so didn’t have time to come on here. We’re cruising over the next month or so as DH has work away from home. We haven’t been away from our mooring since before Christmas so I’m excited to be back out. Spends have been minimal as I’ve been stuck inside. I’ve budgeted for all our general outgoings so won’t include them in my spends.
I did put all money back into overdraft so am no longer in minus figures.
start sorry to hear you were also ill after your booster. Its rubbish isn’t it🤢

I think it is worse for the child and parent! Any decisions reached yet?

Hope you had a nice birthday Adora.

Have meal planned to use up various veg and made a shopping list for essentials and a few ingredients to help with the using up. Will they and get to the supermarket tomorrow.
Have also started unsubscribing from various marketing emails to reduce the carbon footprint they create and also to stop me being tempted to buy stuff!

We need somewhere to store towels and bedding. What sort of furniture would be best? I'm thinking maybe a large chest of drawers on the landing? Would a chest or cupboard with shelves be better? Hoping to find something suitable on Ebay. Wish we had an airing cupboard!
