Shopping was ok but will be going again as fixated on going to the dunhelm cafe with us. I spent about £30

Wolfcub · 09/01/2022 16:13

£23 Sainsbury's. Every chip shop in a 12 mile radius shut so hit pizza from Sainsbury's plus a discounted gammon joint, smoked sausage that ocado have stopped doing and a couple of drinks. Not the £5 I intended to spend on chips but I'm pleased with the gammon joint and neither of us need a dinner tonight so that rolls over to tomorrow

Dog very stressed by where we went for a walk so we have a bad case of explosive bum

Tea loaf made and in the oven

Spent a few £ on cookery books discounted to 99p on kindle

Mrsmadevans · 09/01/2022 16:50

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/01/2022 16:55

It’s a mil thing. She has a cafe obsession. Don’t get me wrong I like a nice tea shop but sometimes our nice levels differ

Mrsmadevans · 09/01/2022 17:30

Oh no poor you life , l thought l didn't hear anything special about Dunelm Caffs l hope l don't get like this when l am older Shock

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/01/2022 18:09

Hopefully we can just get away with a drink

Wolfcub · 09/01/2022 19:24

Have just dozed the dog with pro-kolin. We are not having a happy evening and there are areas of my garden which may never recover

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/01/2022 19:30

Oh no poor doggo. And garden

HumbugWhale · 09/01/2022 20:15

@Wolfcub

Oh dear, that sounds really bad. Hope dog recovers quickly.

We filled up the big car today for the first time in ages, it was over 80 quid Shock It's not a massive SUV or anything either. It has renewed my interest in saving for an electric car.

Wolfcub · 10/01/2022 06:12

Well I've totalled about two hours broken sleep and further garden disaster. I think we will be paying a trip to the vet this morning

northender · 10/01/2022 07:13

Haven't heard of that film Tayto will look it up. Agree totally about welfare state etc
Glad you're feeling better Em and yay to banana bread!
Oh dear wolf, sleep deprivation is horrible and poor doggo, hope you get sorted.
Well done on the yellow labels Mrs
Humbug it's a ridiculous price now isn't it for petrol/diesel?

Yesterday was a day mainly of study again but I do feel I am making progress and will be able to submit on the 19th (as well as keeping up with the new module!).
Weekly shop £70, thanks mainly to the fact that we have already done the Hello Fresh order so approx £100 altogether. Got a 2kg gammon joint from booths for £3.75, so that was a very popular tea and there are plenty of leftovers.

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/01/2022 07:22

Oh no wolf. Hope they sort him and you get a nap
That’s not a bad food total for a family. I ordered hello fresh for this week too. Well done on the studying
Hope you continue to feel better em
Petrol is ££& but we had a lot of pumps off as well as no tanker driver

Think ds skatepass is due this week so
£60’

HumbugWhale · 10/01/2022 08:16

I hope vet can sort him out Wolf and it isn't too expensive and you can catch up on some sleep.

Wolfcub · 10/01/2022 14:01

£45 vet, reduced as I already had some medication from amazon. Replacement medication from Amazon £18

Washing - endless

Luckily I'd poached chicken for ds yesterday so that's now for the dog and I'm cooking the ham that was for next week for ds

I was out at 6am watering the lawn to try and wash away the evidence.

Amount moved to penny saver

That's a bargain gammon North, even better value than the one I got yesterday

Unescorted · 10/01/2022 18:21

Hello lovelies....
Wolf hope your pup is ok. Look at the decimation of the lawn as an opportunity to grub it up and plant a meadow instead.

Em glad you are feeling a bit brighter.

My mother is becoming a fan of Dunelm.... I shall encourage her on line shopping habit.

No shopping here. We are working at home again (not that I ever really stopped).

Good job ! l need to leave it all there l want to declutter this year Grin North well done on your studying and submitting on time Smile Wolf poor doggy l hope it's much better now lovely Flowers Washing the lawn down at 6 this morning sounds grim Envy Hope you are resting up now lovely Smile
Mrsmadevans · 10/01/2022 18:26

Unescorted definitely encourage your Dm with online shopping , it will save you hours and hours! Smile

Unescorted · 10/01/2022 19:29

Random question for those that know these things.... When you got COVID could you still taste acid, salt, sugar and oonami or did it go totally?

OP posts:
lifelongfrugaleer · 10/01/2022 19:57

People I know it went totally.

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/01/2022 19:59

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/01/2022 20:00

Lovemaltesers · 10/01/2022 20:53

unescorted my taste never went. I had a couple of hours when food smelt of food, but I didn’t like the smell. (had covid July 2021)

DHs sense of smell went, but apparently the curry I cooked tasted amazing (but possibly because he hadn’t realised he had no smell, so it tasted better than it smelt as he couldn’t smell it!). He had covid November 2020. He never lost his taste.

Nuts week ahead here, will probably have to catch up again at the end of the week.

marthasmum · 10/01/2022 22:12

Hope you get through the week ok love
Blimey I had a NSD today. Was in work, took my lunch and didn’t have time to buy a coffee.
My sense of smell still hasn’t come back properly since Covid (Oct). I’m a bit gutted as I had a very sensitive sense of smell before.

ememem84 · 10/01/2022 22:28

Aaaaaah!!

So frustrated with next. Ordered couch. £2550. Yikes. And for some reason if you have an account you can’t pay via credit card. So I hit the pay button expecting to be taken to card details. But no. It’s charged my next account. Cancelled order (as credit limit is only £100) and no idea why they allowed me to make the order.

Anyway. Now I’m trying to find out if I pay VAT. Apparently yes VAT is included. Which is annoying as we don’t pay it here. However. I will also have to pay 5% GST when it arrives on Island. Bah.
