Ah I understand love. I’m happy to make up a pebble with wolf. Hopefully when you are feeling better you will start again.

I’m feeling better than yesterday but not really ok.
Tends to just be a prom at secondary school round here . Great dress bargain though.

Hope all are doing ok

Wolfcub · 20/10/2021 07:27

North I can highly recommend making Christmas a shedload easier by ordering a turkey and a veg box from booths, collecting it and going straight to the till to pay without fighting through the hell that is a Christmas supermarket

Wolfcub · 20/10/2021 07:29

Love always willing to help anyone with applications and interviews so just shout when you need us. I hate them myself so I always hope to help someone have a better time with them than I do

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/10/2021 07:55

I think I’m going to add a veg box to my butchers order. Then the none perishable can be got in advance

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/10/2021 07:55

Pebble = panel

Mrsmadevans · 20/10/2021 21:33

Unescorted so hope your Dh is feeling better Flowers
Bought some Sloggis from Amazon for Dds for Christmas. 24 for 2 boxes of 3 . They are a lot for 6 prs of knickers but they are soooo comfy .
Hope everyone is fine, take care Smile

marthasmum · 20/10/2021 22:33

tayto the decorations sound great. I always plan to do them but never get round to it.
Hope all is still ok with meadow and baby.
£500 on the car today, ouch! Problem with the DPS which I think is some kind of diesel filter? And it still needs a service Sad
It's been a very reliable car up til now though so can't complain.
Work is easing off a bit this week and I'm off next week, hurray! Going to have my DSis to stay this weekend and see DMum in the week. I thought maybe DSis and I could try making a thanksgiving dinner, but not sure I can be bothered (do you see a pattern here??)
em did I see that they are re making Bergerac? That reminded me that I used to fancy John nettles when I was about 16. Which is a bit odd when you think about the age difference 😳

marthasmum · 20/10/2021 22:34

Ps mrs love Sloggi knickers! I have some from M&S of a very similar style and find myself reaching for them every time...

I agree. Last couple of years we have ordered the turkey, pigs in blankets etc from the butcher and a veg box from the greengrocer which is right next door to the butcher. They open early on Christmas Eve so we just drive up as soon as we are dressed, put everything in the car and it's done. We also start a Christmas box around now and but one or two treats (stollen, Baileys etc) with the shopping every week so we have them ready for Christmas and it spreads the cost a bit.
Taytocrisps · 21/10/2021 14:13

Got my microwave but it was delivered by a courier company (not the company I bought the appliance from) and they wouldn't take my old one Angry. I'll have to phone customer services again. But at least I have a microwave now. It looks so clean and shiny compared to the old one.

lifelongfrugaleer · 21/10/2021 17:44

That’s annoying tayto
£117 vets. Bloody dog has a uti.
House still hanging in the balance. I told work I’m spending winter in Barbados drinking cocktails if it fail this time

Lovemaltesers · 22/10/2021 14:00

I now have a horrible sore throat, I guess that means it’s the start of the holidays. But woo hoo for half term!

Spendy morning…
£53 haircut
£9 on new hairbrush (current one I bought at uni so about 18 years old)
£13 home bargains
£60 Tesco

You know how they say you shouldn’t go food shopping hungry… well going when you feel unwell isn’t a good idea either. I bought lots of ready meals and cider for the weekend Grin

If anyone uses Checkoutsmart app you can get a £1 galaxy bar for free after cashback, you could save it for a special occasion if you were good or eat it later with a ready meal & cider There’s also money back on TopCashback buying a pumpkin.

HumbugWhale · 23/10/2021 11:13

Hope your sore throat feels better soon Love.

It's very quiet on the thread at the moment, is everyone ok?

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/10/2021 11:29

Lots of stress here so I’m quite.
House move on on for Friday so lots of declutter and packing going to happen

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/10/2021 11:29

Gws love

Lovemaltesers · 23/10/2021 11:34

Great news life, I hope it all goes to plan!

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/10/2021 11:35

Me too or I’m spending my savings on November in Barbados

ememem84 · 23/10/2021 13:45

Afternoon. Just checking in as I’d lost you all!

Hanging today. Had 4 huge glasses of wine out last night and stupidly no dinner. Home by 9. Wrecked. Absolutely wrecked.

😭

Spendy day sorting house and life insurance, onto virgin media to do renegotiate and move requests. food shopping cheaper as eating from cupboards and stuff

HumbugWhale · 23/10/2021 16:27

Oh dear Em. Did you have a good time at least?

ememem84 · 23/10/2021 20:08

Yes!!! So fun.

What wasn’t fun was throwing up a lot. 😪

But have mended a bit today. Tired though.

Martha our girls love them too , l have bought another 2 boxes for them again Grin so another 24 today. I thought l buy them a lot of junk for Christmas among other things and these are so useful so l am cutting down on the junk! Halloween Grin
500 is a lot for the car but l suppose it all costs so much, ours needs new brakes for the back and a service which will be about 300 l expect it all adds up ! Halloween Hmm
Life hope your dog is better and yay the move is happening ! Yes! Smile
Love hope you are ok lovely Flowers
Tayto glad you got your Microwave lovely Smile
Em sounds brilliant glad you had a great time and have stopped vomming Grin
Humbug l think it's half term for a lot of us hence the quietness . I have been offline for 2 days myself, my broadband has been terrible , it says high demand and l suppose it would be with the children off school and the darker nights. It dips in and out all the time and even my data isn't working on my mobile , it's so annoying! Grin
Spent 39 in Aldi's today. l bought the Katsu curry and had it tonight and it was absolutely gorgeous !

HumbugWhale · 24/10/2021 06:35

That's interesting Mrs we had our Halloween playlist on spotify yesterday and it kept cutting out, I hadn't thought of it being the additional demand on broadband. I managed to perfect my Thriller-zombie dance at least Grin

ememem84 · 24/10/2021 08:22

mrs I love a katsu curry. Might make it this week for dinner. Yum.

And yes. All recovered here. Yay. Feeling way brighter.

Birthday party with ds today. Then a roast chickety chick dinner. Mmmm.

I had some family over yesterday. It was the first time I've had more than one or two people over together since the separation - mainly because of the Covid restrictions. I just did my home made veg. soup with crusty bread, deli meats and salad stuff. Followed by tea, coffee and biscuits. It was really nice to have people over and I've resolved to do it more often. My house felt alive iykwim. Sometimes the house feels empty with just me and DD in it and even more so when DD is at her Dad's and I'm here on my own. I've also resolved to save harder to buy things I want to make my house nicer e.g. replace grotty, stained carpet with a wooden floor.

After they'd left, DD and I curled up on the couch and watched Strictly.

Having a nice, peaceful morning here. DD is in bed. DCat1 is probably curled up with DD. DCat 2 is snoozing on a blanket. I'm going to put on a full Irish breakfast shortly. Then I'll go for a walk. It's a lovely day with blue skies and sunshine. It's a bank holiday weekend here so no work tomorrow.

DD is doing a few days work experience with me this week. It will be interesting to see what she makes of my workplace/work and to see her Mam in a different mode.
