Sorry, been missing. DH and I both do contact tracing at our schools, so work is nuts, and we’re exhausted at the end of the day.

DD1 has a temperature and not feeling well, so PCR done today. DH stayed home with her.

Not gone too mad on shopping this week, but I didn’t realise AA/RAC do Black Friday offers so I must finally sort that as ours expired!

ememem84 · 25/11/2021 15:43

I am in the hairdressers. I’ve been here since 1. I’m so relaxed.

AdoraBell · 25/11/2021 17:33

Fingers crossed for that PCR Lovemaltesers

NSD here.

Alfiemoon1 · 25/11/2021 17:53

Fingers crossed for the pcr test love.
I need to book into the hairdressers not been in months it’s finding time when you work full time and I always end up busy at the weekends

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/11/2021 18:29

£83 vets. Bloody puppy

Alfiemoon1 · 25/11/2021 18:43

Oh no life hope puppy is ok

ememem84 · 25/11/2021 20:35

I am not going to say how much I spent at hairdressers. But I have new lilac hair.

He’s ok. Has kennel cough, got conjunctivitis and a bit of an upset tum. Probably eaten something odious

Unescorted · 25/11/2021 21:47

poor pup. Sad

Love it doesn't look good here. Some of Ds's friends have been sent home to isolate. It is a matter of time for him I think.

em I am at the other end of the hairdresser spend scale. I can't remember the last paid for one... combination of hair model, self hack, letting dd loose and looking like a fancy dress scarecrow.

northender · 25/11/2021 23:07

Good to see you again Adora good luck with the move
Lovely day with mum today. £15 spent.

Gensola · 26/11/2021 17:10

Somewhat unfrugally our most recent IVF attempt has failed leaving us with £15,000 of debt and no baby. Sad feeling so angry and disappointed - it doesn’t seem fair that so many children are born into homes where they aren’t wanted or taken care of and we aren’t able to have one when we’d adore it.
Anyway. I guess we will go again once we have saved up.

Lovemaltesers · 26/11/2021 17:33

So sorry gen Flowers

AdoraBell · 26/11/2021 17:55

That sounds really tough Gen I’ll keep everything crossed for the next round.

Lilac hair sounds fab em 😁

DH’s cousin came over for lunch today, pub lunch and DH paid, I don’t know how much. Then DH went to collect spare wheels-£85. I went shopping with his cousin, he spent loads but I spent zero.

Hope your 🐶 puppy gets better quickly life

lifelongfrugaleer · 26/11/2021 18:05

Ah gen my lovely have a big (((hug))) and Flowers

Lovemaltesers · 26/11/2021 18:51

Dd has tested negative, result only arrived a couple of hours ago. Phew! Great news as we are meant to be seeing a show tomorrow, hopefully Dd will feel up to going out.

Did some work at home today to help out work.

Got my breakdown cover for £107, but got £65 tracking back on TopCashback.

ememem84 · 26/11/2021 20:07

Oh gen I’m so sorry. Xxxx

I tend to go hairdressers every 6 months or so. So if you space it out over the months it’s not a huge amount::::..::

gen I am so sorry to hear that you were unsuccessful on this cycle. It is odd that broody hormones aren't in sync with get preggers hormones and not that bothered for kids hormones aren't in sync with a natural contraception. It would prevent so much heartache.

It was my DDads birthday today. He is now on oral morphine - so burning matches. Christmas is going to be bleak I think. Dbro goes home to Oz this weekend so fingers crossed that he gets there before they close the borders again.

Alfiemoon1 · 26/11/2021 21:13

Oh gen. I am so sorry sending you a big hug.

Hope puppy is getting better life

It’s bloody windy here a tree has blown down on the main road I need to use to pick ds up from work later luckily I’m the opposite direction to the way I am going dh and ds are doing driving experience tomorrow bought for last Christmas but this was the earliest availability due to covid hope it’s not cancelled and they have somewhere warm for me to watch them

HumbugWhale · 26/11/2021 21:20

So sorry to hear that Gen. I hope you have a restful weekend Flowers

Unescorted · 26/11/2021 21:26

It is windy here too... I taped the letter box closed because it was clattering. Hot water bottle filled so if the power goes off I can cosy up in bed. I will have a death grip on it....

northender · 27/11/2021 01:00

So sorry to hear that news Gen and that sounds like a tough time ahead for you too unescorted
Frugal day here...ish. Had a lovely evening with my best friend & her dh tonight. I made brownies and we took a bottle of wine we already had in so no spends.
However, spent my birthday money £160 on an Ooni pizza oven. We bought a Fyra 12 from Lakeland, an aluminium "peel" to slide the pizzas in & out, a carry bag and a 10kg bag of wood pellets. All 20% off for Black Friday. Used a £10 off a £50 spend voucher and went through topcashback for an extra 6%. So full price £350, paid £236, £160 of which was birthday cash. It took a while to get the best combination of deals but I'm happy with that & excited to try it out.

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/11/2021 07:48

Great frugality north
Big hug unescorted. We are here for you
I used to go monthly for hair at £50 a go. Since I grew it out it’s every 3 months

Got to buy doggo a coat today. It’s wild here last night and today weather wise.
Must stay away from lakeland

ememem84 · 27/11/2021 08:06

Wild and windy here today. Force 9 winds. So all boats cancelled today.

The French are blockading their ports today to stop jersey boats going in. Doesn’t sound too fun being sat out there in this weather!

Off riding today £40. Although in this weather I’m really not looking forward to it! But instructor hasn’t cancelled. So. We go.

Hoping for a relaxing day today. Tomorrow morning the Disney princesses (Ana and Elsa) are coming to our house to gift the kids their advent calendars. This set me back £45. But. Worth every penny in my opinion. The kids will love it!!!!

north use semolina to dust your peel. I am finding a dough with 68% hydration works well.

No power this morning. I still have plenty of data on my phone... Others don't. I am very popular this morning.

Happierwithouthim · 27/11/2021 08:24

Gen I'm so sorry to read your update Thanks
