mrs my soup maker is the Asda one. I've been very pleased with it

Unescorted · 12/10/2021 20:21

Ha Mrs... his administration is still poor so any you can give him would be fab.

Tayto love the cupboard love.

I have had a huge argument with my DMum..... apparently l I am unreasonable to ask that I am told more than 2 minutes before a meeting that I am driving her to a medical appointment rather than minding my DDad (and therefore being able to log onto the meeting...). I asked days ago for them to tell me so I can re jig my diary & get colleagues to cover if needs be.

Mrsmadevans · 12/10/2021 20:26

Aw thank you so much Martha l am so looking forward to using it Halloween Smile
Mrsmadevans · 12/10/2021 20:35

Unescorted he can have the lot Halloween Grin
As for your DMum , she is being totally unreasonable , absolutely in the wrong and why she won't just say she is sorry and she has forgotten l really don't know ! I do know that in my own Mums case she can get in a really bad mood about absolutely nothing and take it out on those who are the very best to her. I haven't any answers for you unfortunately , in my case l ride it out and don't respond . l have learned now that my Mum wants me to have a row with her so she can be the victim & l am left with a guilt complex. So l don't give her the satisfaction no matter how much she tries. I can however tell you l totally understand , that sometimes there is no rhyme nor reason to their behaviour and l am so sorry you are having to go through this , it isn't fair to you. Flowers

Thanks Mrs - I am full of grrrrrr. It really is such a small ask - I am not saying I can't do things I just need a little bit of notice so I can work around things.

MeadowHay · 12/10/2021 21:06

NSD today as checked out the big online grocery shop with DH's credit card Wink.

Unescorted Oh no, sorry to hear that. Did your DM just forget or what? What a pain for you and not nice if she wasn't very apologetic!

My last day of rest this week tomorrow whilst DD is in nursery. Keep getting loads of headaches the last couple of days, think it's the air pressure/grey weather and probably my terrible broken sleep too.

Unescorted · 13/10/2021 06:27

Meadow - they just failed to tell me, thinking it had no impact.

MiniMeadow where are you????????

ememem84 · 13/10/2021 07:17

Busy week which means no time to spend!! Have been bringing breakfast into work to stop myself buying stuff in the cafe and signed up for a free month of prêt coffee so I’ve been enjoying fancy coffee for free ever day, just need to cancel it before the month is up!

MeadowHay · 13/10/2021 11:32

I've seen that Gen, tbh even the actual plan is really good value for people who buy a lot of coffees out normally. Unfortunately there is no Pret near me. I think they tend to be city-centre based? There's one on the street where my office is but I virtually never went because it was so expensive and always had a long queue too.

Unescorted That's not good. Did you manage to sort something out with work? Hope it doesn't happen again Flowers. And I know right?! I can't believe I'm still pregnant, was so confident this baby wouldn't be 'late' as DD wasnt! Had a proper chat about the induction process today with a midwife, I'm booked in for next Tuesday. Dreading it so really hoping baby makes an arrival in the meantime eurgh...come on baby!! My DM was late with all of us and I was induced at 42w so it makes sense this one being late as it tends to run like that in families doesn't it, but then DD wasn't. They did think she may have stopped growing tho so maybe that's the only reason she wasn't late, wonder if my body chucked her out earlier if she wasn't growing anymore.

Unescorted · 13/10/2021 19:19

Work have been awesome - I had a rant to my line manager today. She has said that it is fine to just cancel at the last minute.

The queues for Pret where our office is are so long that you lose most of a lunch hour there. I don't understand it because there are all sorts of really good coffee / sandwich places just near by.

Good luck for Tuesday if not before....

ememem84 · 13/10/2021 19:49

Just FYI boots have their spend £60 get £10 worth of points event starting tomorrow.

I’ve added the dyson hair dryer plus some bubble bath (£1) to my basket in preparation. I should get back around £50 worth of points. I think. I also get double points because it’s my birthday month. The dyson is £300. But to get a chunk back is worth it. Plus via too ash ack I’ll get cash back. And if I pay with my cc I’ll get points on that too.

My hairdryers started fizzing and crackling. It is years old. So does need replacing. I was going to wait..:but.

That's so stressful unescorted. I'm glad work have been supportive, that makes a big difference. As busy as my work is, they are very good around family stuff.
meadow it's a waiting game!! Fingers crossed for a weekend baby. I know what you mean, my first two were on due date/ early so when DS2 went over I was like 'wtf?!'
mrs you are a saint and your mum doesn't know how lucky she is...
DD had a mental health wobble this week about going into college. Noticed some self harm marks which she said were a month or so old, I didn't think she was doing that any more. But she dealt with it brilliantly by telling college some of it, which was a big deal for her, she hates to discuss it.

ememem84 · 14/10/2021 09:01

wfh today as am not feeling 100. done my boots order which will be picked up on tuesday. £400 in today. so a decent chunk of points and cashback and credit card points. but the rest of the order was christmas gifts for people. so have actually done rather well there. have mentally used the voucher that dh gave me for my birthday on the hairdryer - he gave me a voucher for £200 for new bras for a local dept store. however there are things there that dsis would like for christmas and also dm. so will use the voucher for that, and have effectively (in my head) converted it to boots so dh effectively bought me the hairdryer.

Hope baby comes soon Meadow! Dd1 was induced, I don't feel like I was prepared enough for what would actually happen! All ok in the end though.

MeadowHay · 14/10/2021 14:44

Humbug I had a phone call with one of the community midwife team leaders yesterday and she explained all the process to me so that has really helped in terms of anxiety about what is actually going to happen if I have to go in. Luckily the first stage is outpatient induction too assuming that the baby shows no signs of stress after they insert the pessary. Me and DH are booked in for covid tests at the hospital on Saturday morning in advance of the induction. All seems more real now but still praying I go spontaneously before then Sad. But it doesn't look like it. Having a sweep tomorrow PM when the midwife comes so you never know. Weird to think though that we are highly likely to have a baby by this time next week or at the very least I will be in labour now with the induction!

Spends: £3 playgroup. Had to explain to DD that we won't be there next week! She seems very excited at the prospect of DH taking her sometime on his pat leave though and excited about taking the baby there with us in future.

Also, my DM's melanoma has been recategorised as stage 3 after the lymph node biopsy found cancer in one. So that means a bunch more treatment and the worry that goes along with that Sad.

Em Hope you're soon feeling better.

lifelongfrugaleer · 14/10/2021 17:16

Oh dear meadow sorry to hear about dm

Lovemaltesers · 14/10/2021 18:37

Flowers martha I hope your DD is ok

I’m glad your work were understanding unescorted

Feel better soon em

I had a massive wobble after getting the feedback from my last interview, and withdrew from the two interviews I had lined up. But I then got invited to interview for a job that I’m really interested in, so need to pull myself together and do it!

My Dmum has sent me seven emails today. Mostly repeating herself. Urghghhh!
