I have three lobe piercings on each ear and the top of my left ear and my tragus. I’d like conch and more Lobes 😄

MeadowHay · 16/09/2021 23:14

Ah glad you're happy with it Em. I just have one in each lobe and two cartilage piercings on my left ear. Planning to get another in the left ear probably in 2022, either another cartilage one or another lobe one. Not sure how many cartilage piercings people can feasibly have? Especially as I think the more you have the greater the risk of it shattering as a side effect of piercing too which has always worried me but I am particularly risk averse when it comes to cosmetic stuff.

Anyone else watch Help on Channel 4? I adore Stephen Graham. I liked it but thought the last 15/20 mins or so was a bit stupid and unbelievable.

Wolfcub · 17/09/2021 07:54

Pm sent Love

Unescorted · 17/09/2021 16:50

I have no piercings at all b/c I am too scared it is going to hurt.

Help is on my list to watch. I think it will be Tuesday before I get the chance to watch it. With it being Strictly and other peoples TV viewing preferences.

Good news the car sailed through its MOT - not even an advisory. It goes back in for a service tomorrow which will be more expensive.

Mrsmadevans · 17/09/2021 18:44

Evening everyone Smile
We didn't watch Help either Meadow Smile
Unescorted brilliant the car passed the MOT yay! Grin
10 Tesco, 33 Chinese takeaway tonight , cannot bring myself to cook tonight Hmm
Hope everyone is ok Take care and have a brilliant weekend Smile

MeadowHay · 17/09/2021 20:25

Mmm Chinese Smile

Spends: £1 playgroup, £5 Asda groceries.

CamdenLurker · 17/09/2021 20:30

Hey everyone!

The weekend is here at last - it's been a long week!!

Spendy day today, £53 in Lidl as I had a £10 off coupon in the Lidl app, I'm trying to use up what we have here rather than keep buying stuff.

Also spent £63 in TK MAXX on complete impulse buys, I only went into browse - eek! I did buy myself a pair of knock off Birkenstock Boston mules for £16.99, a Wet Brush, This Works candle that I had my eye on in JL, and some other stuff (also for me Wink) to put away for Christmas.

Taking dd out to get her first pair of pointe shoes tomorrow- that will be £££ for sure.

Wolfcub · 17/09/2021 20:32

I won't watch Help. My mum has told me about it and I don't need that level of sad in my lifw right now

HumbugWhale · 17/09/2021 21:32

Happy weekend everyone!

Nsd. I think I'm going to start xmas shopping though and spread the cost out a bit.

marthasmum · 17/09/2021 21:41

Agree it’s been a long week, happy weekend!
Tomorrow will be spendy but today was low - 4.30 sainsburys and 2.65 for a latte.
Was paid today into everyday spends account and margins will be tight now we’re back commuting to work/ paying dog Walker/ kids travel to school so need to make myself accountable

Gensola · 18/09/2021 07:16

We are 1 week from DH payday so just trying to make it through, we have enough but it will be an interesting week Grin we put all the surplus off the credit cards on payday last month and left ourselves Monzo pots for food, petrol etc. It’s worked well, we haven’t run out of any category, there has been some moving around between categories.
Our plan is to do this until credit cards (all IVF debt) are paid off then start saving.

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/09/2021 08:15

Freezer eating is going ok here though stil mange’s to spend £100 on Sainsbury’s on fresh stuff and pop

Unescorted · 18/09/2021 08:54

Martha I hear your pain about the cost of going to work.

Am I sad to welcome a breeze on a lovely late summer's day so the washing dries properly.

Gensola · 18/09/2021 08:59

unescorted it’s foggy and grey here. Shock

Happierwithouthim · 18/09/2021 09:36

Piercings - a few months ago I added a second lobe piercing to both ears, first ones aren't in line so I want to either correct this or pierce near there and leave these holes empty. I also have my belly button pierced, belly not on show anymore but I still love my piercing there.
I debated an upper helix piercing on the day & the lady kinda of made me feel I was too old for it, I'm 38 Hmm

Spends I'll update later, I'm a bit behind I think Smile

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/09/2021 10:47

Nope unescorted we have a good drying day here but the road is being resurfaced so stinks of tar

Lovemaltesers · 18/09/2021 11:07

We’ve had to book DD2 in for a test. Her cold has turned into a cough, and she’s complaining about stomach pains too. The bribes have been out this morning to get her to do it.

Lovemaltesers · 18/09/2021 12:09

I bought petrol for the first times in ages yesterday. £47 to fill a small car with 1/4 of a tank left. Has petrol gone up recently?

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/09/2021 12:17

Yes love petrol is at a significant high at the moment

marthasmum · 18/09/2021 12:33

Nice weather here so I’m hoping DP has hung out the washing I put on this morning!
Been to DS2’s football then had time to waste before the city match so have been to Costco. £100 on basics (dog food etc). Leaves £500 for food for the rest of the month
£37.99 on a weighted blanket- semi impulse buy, I’ve been wanting one for DS1 who really struggles to wind down and sleep at night. This one not the cheapest I’ve seen but has washable cover. Which is good as DDog also sleeps on DC’s beds Blush
£6.95 Costco cafe
Petrol still to get
Hope lovedd is ok
himbug chuckling at the thought of you not wanting your mum to see your piercings

Lovemaltesers · 18/09/2021 13:14

Oooh yes I chuckled at that too martha and humbug Grin

MeadowHay · 18/09/2021 14:16

My DPs are super anti-piercing too, I got my first helix piercing when I was 19 and they went on and on about how I shouldn't get it done. I didn't even live at home at the time. Anyway they never even noticed it and weeks and weeks like my DM brought it up and I was like I got it done ages ago and you didn't even notice! Grin they're very old fashioned when it comes to piercings and even worse tattoos!! They're only in their fifties as well.

Spendy today week £4.60 bus to and from town, £19.50 body shop on moisturiser and lip balm - treating myself a bit before the baby comes, £60 Bravisismo bikini with the hope of being able to wear it in the birthing pool this time as I couldn't use it last time due to continuous monitoring free, £15 brunch in cafe with one of my friend's - again relishing the opportunity to do this before baby comes. Feel sooo tired permanently these days.

HumbugWhale · 18/09/2021 14:35

My mum would never let me get my ears pierced. I got them done at uni and she then bought me earrings every Christmas! Goodness knows what she would say if I got a tattoo Grin

northender · 18/09/2021 14:55

Just had a read back as haven't been keeping up while away.
Mrs I've never had Christmas dinner out but I can definitely see the appeal!
Love good luck with the interview. Dh didn't get the first job he interviewed for but was put on the reserve list & so was then offered a different job at that grade which he took. It suited him much better and the person who got the first job over him has ended up working back in the same team as him! You never know what might come of it. He had great help from wolf and life too
One piecing in each ear is enouh for me Em. Dd has 2 in each ear now and a nose stud. However I think she is going to let the nose one heal as she is playing rugby and has to plaster it or take out whenever she is playing which she doesn't want to do.

We've had a lovely but spendy few days away. Had an excellent time thanks to fantastic recommendations for hotel, restaurants, places to go etc from Em. Managed a frugaleer meet up for a coffee while we were there too.
Got back last night and back to reality very quickly. Dc had done well shopping and cooking for themselves, but had not paid enough attention to the state of the kitchen! Dd to be fair hadn't had much time between college, work and rugby so ds is on major kitchen duties today.
Dd and I are away next weekend with my mum and my aunty, ds and dh are going to Devon to catch up with family and their football team so I am trying to plan a week of meals where I need to buy as little as possible and using up what we have. Haven't managed to retrieve anything from the external hard drive yet so I am still flying blind with our budget & hoping for the best.

ememem84 · 18/09/2021 18:09

Oh god…dm freaked out when I got my tattoo. It took her 6 weeks to notice.

Same with my belly button piercing. I had that done when I was 19. She only noticed when we were on the beach.

With the tattoos and this piercing she’s more concerned about what work will think.

For context I don’t care what they think. It doesn’t affect my ability to do my job.

north I’m so so glad you had a fab time here.
