My DD (then 16) tattooed herself during lockdown on the wrist and ankle with some needles and ink she bought off t’internet. I was quite proud of my restrained reaction (I thought, your body, your crap tattoos that you’ll have to live with!)
Yikes, that got a bit spendy. Two nice hoodies, £8 in H&M and £34 in Uniqlo (DD egged me on).
£19 in primark for underwear and joggers for DD.
£11.65 for food and drink for me and DD in gay village…I felt quite emotional taking her there, I used to go out there as a student.
And £11 more in Costco cafe as everyone was starving on the way back.
Posting is definitely going to make me notice e spends more…

HumbugWhale · 18/09/2021 19:42

She's a braver girl than me to ink herself Martha!

moimichme · 18/09/2021 20:19

£2 on overpriced ice lolly in the park

£10 on special fancy coffee deal at the market, £1 for rolls at the market

Tomorrow is DH's birthday so likely a spendy evening meal out...

Happy weekend everyone!

Happierwithouthim · 18/09/2021 22:20

Went to see this movie, think it might be on prime too. €11.40 for my ticket, bought flex pass which cost 80c extra in case my plans changed & i would've got full refund. €0 on food, brought an Aldi flake ice cream, satin crunch crisps, caramel crunch bar & can of Pepsi max in my handbag. With the result that I've had no dinner!

Film was amazing & triggering because it was about a single mother of two children, out of an abusive relationship.

€19.30 on breakfast out with dc
€21.96 on medicine, hair ties & lozenges
That's today's spends

Yesterday's spends
€6.65 on scones for colleagues birthday & butter for said scones(which I brought home), and a vit hit drink as pick me up after visiting gp
€20 lunch including my share of work colleagues birthday lunch
€30 childcare

Thurs spends
€50 childcare
€27.30 McDonald's
€18 cleaning attachments for my drill impulse buy
€6 soup at restaurant for lunch
€7.10 grocery topup

Wed NSD
Tues
€20 horse riding
€3 soccer
€23.95 calpol & sambucol(compared ingredients with dealz brand exact same strength just dealz isn't as fruity Angry)
€84.97 Aldi groceries, dogfood & dc spent some pocket money
Mon
€8 gym class
€25 diesel
€5.80 groceries

Marthasmum yikes 😳
Unescorted not at all sad, I've done several loads of washing today but it was rainy, I'm hoping tomo will bring drying!

We cleared out dcs wardrobes today & got rid of stuff too small or unwanted and found dirty clothes in process too of course & discovered that ds had wet his bed, he hasn't done that in forever.

There's still loads of their clothes in the shed since moving so we'll tackle that another day.

Gensola · 18/09/2021 23:25

I have three tattoos but I haven’t done any of them myself and actually have to get DH to do my IVF injections as I feel funny about them!
Lovely dinner at friend’s tonight but maybe a little too much wine 🤢

Happierwithouthim · 19/09/2021 08:34

I've two & was considering getting a local lady to do another one but having seen her work I'm going to wait

ememem84 · 19/09/2021 08:39

I’m getting this as my next one and catfaces paw print underneath it.

I lost two of my nails yesterday. So annoyed. It’s been almost 6 weeks and they’re so so long which is irritating. But I’m getting them redone on Tuesday lunchtime. So annoyed they snapped so close to the appointment!!!

Taking the dc to the adventure park today. Meeting friends. DH is hungover to hell. He’s going to enjoy it so much! 😂 we’ve been three times this month already so money well spent on the membership.

I’m booked on 29 September to have a small flower on my wrist extended up my forearm but I think I’m going to have to move it to Xmas hols for £££ and time reasons. I do want it done but it will cost £400ish and we are trying to pay off debt so I just can’t justify it. I’m having a Rose, Poppy, olive branch, bumble bee and shamrocks added to an existing Veronica flower - the Veronica was for my mum and granny as they both have that name in their names. My siblings all have flower/plant middle names and the bee is for my dead brother whose name began with a B. So basically it is a half sleeve representing my family. 💜

HumbugWhale · 19/09/2021 09:31

That sounds like a beautiful tattoo Gen.

I'm feeling grumpy this morning. Partly because we had planned a day out with a picnic and it's pouring with rain and partly because the house is a tip (we are doing some housework though so that should be temporary).
I need to get all dd1's old clothes down from the loft and see what there is for dd2 in winter and then figure out what we might need to buy for them all. Dd1 has jumpers and jeans from last winter that definitely fit her. Ds also has jeans that fit but probably needs some tops. They both need new wellies. Dd2 should be ok as we save everything from her sister.

marthasmum · 19/09/2021 10:12

happier that film sounds moving, hope you are ok.
Tattoos sound great gen and em . Wow they are expensive now aren’t they! I only have one small one from about 25 years ago and it was about £30. Don’t like it so much now and keep thinking I’ll get it done over with something like yours gen incorporating family names, but haven’t got round to finding a design I like. I might ask DD to design it (but not do it Grin)
humbug I’d be grumpy, sounds like a tiresome jobs day after your busy week. I have a ton of emails in my work inbox and will have no time to get to them all week but am resisting the urge to spend time working today…

marthasmum · 19/09/2021 12:38

£118 Aldi but that included middle aisle items (2 pairs of waterproof trousers which I've been looking out for for winter dog walks, plus candle for DD's stocking).
£22 fruit box this week plus Costco shop for items that will last a while, so I do need to reel it in for the next couple of weeks. But will be working lots so that will stop me spending Confused

ememem84 · 19/09/2021 16:36

gen that sounds lovely!

Exhausted. Three and half hours and £43 at adventure park. Getting in was free but we stopped for lunch with ds’ friend and his mum. I treated them as they got bowling last week. It worked out roughly the same sl made things easier than trying to do transfers of cash to them.

DH is hanging like a dog. He drank so much last night. I don’t even feel a little bit sorry for him.

Spends: £5 pre-booking toddler theatre class for DD.

Feeling very grumpy, my PGP has been terrible today, just in permanent pain and it's been so bad at times that paracetamol wasn't even making any noticeable difference. Got DD alone tomorrow too so a bit worried as at some points today I could barely walk..

I don't have any tattoos, there's nothing I'd really desperately want to get and I'm a wimp and worried it would be too painful as well Blush. Your plans sound gorgeous Gen. Love your cat idea too Em. I was toying with the idea of something commemorating my guinea pigs ages ago but DH was really really against it and tbh as I say I am probably too scared of the pain to give one a go anyway Blush.

Martha My gosh, my parents would have gone APE if I'd have tatooed myself at 16 haha. In fact they wouldn't be much better if I did it now and I'm close-to-30 Grin !

Lovemaltesers · 20/09/2021 15:36

Survived my interview, doubt I’ll get it. But I don’t feel as crap as I did after the last time I interviewed. I’ve already had a look at what I could next apply for Smile as practice makes perfect.

Thanks to life and wolf I was much better prepared than I would have been Star

Grin at meadow. Yes- very restrained martha !

Wolfcub · 20/09/2021 18:41

Fingers crossed Love, I'm glad you felt we helped and I'm sure if there's another interview we'd be happy to do so again.

Frugal tea made and eaten. Cottage pie with leftover roast beef, leftover carrots, some really sad celery, rosemary and thyme and mash made with leftover cauli cheese mixed in. Yum

HumbugWhale · 20/09/2021 18:45

Fingers crossed for you Love.

Meadow has your midwife referred you for physio? I found it really helped. I bet there are exercises on YouTube that would help.

SingToTheSky · 20/09/2021 19:05

You never know love fingers crossed and in any case feeling more positive is fantastic! You have gained experience either way.

I have an interview on Thursday, I assumed I hadn’t got one but given the dates are also later I think maybe the decision making was delayed due to staff illness or something. Feeling pretty prepared although I’m a bit worried about weird questions like what are your weaknesses etc (where do I start 🤣)

Spendy few days on all sorts. And today we took a big big step - signed DS up with a chemistry tutor! He’s starting next week and is excited. 🥰

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/09/2021 19:21

Ah you never know love. Yes happy to help again if you want it

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/09/2021 20:32

Shout if you want help sing and good luck

marthasmum · 20/09/2021 20:35

All the best sing and what about your strengths - like coping with chronic illness, relaunching yourself in the world of work, voluntary experience…

MeadowHay · 20/09/2021 20:37

Well done love and good luck sing.

Humbug My midwife is pretty useless tbh, she wouldn't refer me to physio when I asked months ago as she said they only deal with the most severe cases and recently told me there is nothing that can be done about PGP anyway Hmm. I did see one privately months ago who was helpful (claimed the cost back through work) but didn't think I needed to be seen again unless things deteriorated in third trimester. They did, but she only works very PT and my availability is so limited so I couldn't get booked in to see her again so I'm going to see a different one tomorrow, who is recommended by the pelvic partnership charity. Again I can claim the cost back through work thankfully.

Spends: £9.80 Tesco's on groceries, £1.75 Tesco's on sandwiches for me and DD's picnic.

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/09/2021 20:43

Anyone collecting Sainsbury’s cards? Happy to post

ememem84 · 20/09/2021 21:53

Absolutely. Agree with this. Flip your weaknesses and strengthen them

In my mind you’re amazing. You homeschool kids which is tough at the best of times whilst dealing with a chronic illness.
