No Mrs rescue centre here children and ft work and it's an instant no.

I'm sure someone will love, can you speak to the staff and ask the too as part of his care plan. Also see if they can find out which era he has fixed on if any. We used to find the care team excellent to speak to when mil was in.

I got the message yesterday.

Nad planned today. Rise and repeat packing, revision bike parl

ememem84 · 21/02/2021 07:55

Made hot cross buns yesterday. Used Paul Hollywood’s recipe. Not sure about them.I can’t remember who’s recipe I used last year.

lifelongfrugaleer · 21/02/2021 09:42

Just thrown a shameful amount of food away. Asked for but then not eaten.

Unescorted · 21/02/2021 09:56

I hate it when that happens life

CurlsandCurves · 21/02/2021 10:53

Ooh that’s so annoying, @lifelongfrugaleer. And then a few weeks later you get ‘have we got any xxxx? Why don’t you buy xxxx anymore?’

Because last time you asked and I bought it you didn’t blummin well eat it!

Going to take a stroll to the shop for milk and bread soon, then prep my veg for roast lamb dinner. Expensive for a roast, specially when I could’ve got a chicken for under £4, but I can’t remember the last time we had lamb and we needed a change.

ememem84 · 21/02/2021 11:48

Ah that really annoys me life were pretty good at not wasting food here. Dh got annoyed yesterday when I threw the stalks from broccolis away. He slices them for stir fries or adds them to pasta sauce. Waste zero!

lifelongfrugaleer · 21/02/2021 12:02

Exactly what curls said will happen

So much for nsd £12 snack food and £60 mountain bike from Facebook

Gensola · 21/02/2021 12:44

We are on a big no-waste drive. We recently tried cutting broccoli longways to make it into fake tender stem - it worked well!

Wolfcub · 21/02/2021 13:29

I need a new front door. Urgently. This is not frugal. Ffs!

Oh no wolf 😭

We are quite bad with wasting food tbh. Meal planning and organisation not our strong point at all.

Argh. Well, not frugal here either. iPad screen cracked sometime last year - think it was a dent in the edge that did it. It’s been fine with a screen protector for months and then suddenly gave up and is pretty much unusable. It’ll be worth getting a new screen rather than trying to replace (it’s still updating iOS etc, had it just over 3y) and it’s used a lot for DS’ work, but oh dear lord the cost 😣 I’m not sure where is best to go for this sort of thing. We have an iStore in town that’s still open for C&C/repairs.

Gensola · 21/02/2021 13:42

wolf i feel your pain - we need one too and can’t find one for less than £1000 Shock not sure what we are going to do!!

Happierwithouthim · 21/02/2021 14:18

Place marking Smile

Sing you will probably think l am nuts suggesting this but here goes, ignore me if you want to l am a daft Apeth Grin Smile My Dd2 said if you want to get it repaired by someone not Apple then Apple won't touch the lpad again for you, so it is a bit of a conundrum. She only ever has Apple equipment and has used both Apple and a non Apple repair shop. Saying that, she took her 4 year old Macbook for a new battery that cost her 50 quid to the local whizz kid shop in town and it saved her a fortune . She has had screen done on her Iphone/lpad and replaced the batteries there too. She tends to use the whizz kid for her older appliances and the ones under warranty she takes to the Apple shop because if you get a repair through them then they will give you a warranty on the part.

l don't know if you live anywhere near here most probably not Grin Grin but they are absolutely fantastic. l would trust them with any device . If you gave them a ring they might be able to point you in the right direction bit of a long shot but might be worth a try Smile They are very nice and cannot do enough for you. They are all Tech Nerds and love nothing other than meddling with phones laptops etc Grin

Mrsmadevans · 21/02/2021 14:47

Wolf have you got anyone local who will repair /do up your existing one near you?
I know lots of local Facebook groups that you can go on and ask for recommendations of local tradesmen, l don't know if you have any groups like that you are member of. It is my first go to now. Smile

Mrsmadevans · 21/02/2021 14:52

They sound delicious Em for some reason l can never get much success with yeast !
Mrsmadevans · 21/02/2021 14:56

Curls l don't seem to have seen you here for ages , sorry if l have missed you hope you are fine m'dear Smile
Dd2 hasn't been very well this weekend but she has perked up a bit now , not Covid related thankfully Smile it's Sinusitis l think.
I have been bleating on for ages now l will get lost and give someone else a chance Grin

Lovemaltesers · 21/02/2021 14:58

I’ve never heard anyone in real life use the description daft apeth apart from my Ddad mrs 😍

Ddad not doing so well. Collapsed this morning, so got taken to the proper hospital. Heart rate is slow, although doesn’t seem to be causing him much issues so ok for now. I have to admit Dmum calling me up to tell me and saying she agreed to DNR really finished me off. I hadn’t cried at all this week until today.

Was the door issue caused by DS wolf ? Big hugs to you Flowers

Mrsmadevans · 21/02/2021 15:09

Aw Love hugs galore . l am so sorry to hear this from you. You must be so, so worried, the only thing l will say in vain to try to comfort you is he is in the right place & l am sure the Staff will do their best for him and treat him very kindly and with great compassion; they are 'in loco parentis' so to speak . Which although aimed/used for a childs care, your DF is vulnerable just like a child & they are acting as family for you and your Mum in caring for your Darling Dad Sad l know it isn't the same as you being able to be with him and this is one of the really most heartbreaking things about this Covid pandemic. Flowers

Mrsmadevans · 21/02/2021 15:10

Have always used daft Apeth Love Grin
I am glad it made you smile Smile

Mrsmadevans · 21/02/2021 15:23

Aw Life that is a shame, a puppy is such lovely addition for the family and the children especially Smile
l dug this out for anyone thinking about buying a puppy , l seem to be in a bit of a citizens advice groove this afternoon Grin take no notice of me , Dd2 & Dh have the snooker on and l can't bear it Grin

Fearofawelshplanet · 21/02/2021 15:54

Love- hope things are a bit easier now for you
Got a great deal with go outdoors, should have been £276. 00 but got 75% discount on 4x sleeping bags, 4folding chairs, 1 folding table and 1 portaloo, £85.50..bought with my £100 bday money so effectively free:)
£15 dog bed with rest of bday money
£6 co op reduced bargains and cakes for my bday at work on Tuesday..
Not so frugal, £13 on a new shade and LED bulb for the lamp in the lounge cos I smashed it yesterday.. Doh... back to work 5 days a week hoping to get lots of NSDs there.

Wolfcub · 21/02/2021 15:54

Mrs I have already tried repairing it. It's unrepairable and currently will not lock. Which is not a great situation when the door opens straight onto the street. Ds didn't cause the door issue Love, it's just old and falling to bits.

Oh Love I'm so sorry that's really hard news for you to hear from your mum and a scary thing to be happening with your dad
