I don't have a dressing gown as I get too hot but DD fits.

£60 yesterday bike club, £10 coop bits, taster gusto box coming today so will amend c&c

Pleased sleep makes it better snug

northender · 25/03/2021 07:13

Morning. Work meeting went okay yesterday but think work will stay stressful for a while to come.
Had used all the Hello Fresh meals, so had to cook and think myself last night & really wasn't feeling it. I can really see how people use those schemes on a regular basis! Managed to do sausages potatoes & veg though which always goes down well. No spends.
Ended the day with the most bizarre programme on BBC1 This Is My House or similar. Watched with ds and felt we must be in some sort of parallel universe. Did anyone else see it??

Unescorted · 25/03/2021 07:58

I am on the school run today - and then a day of pottering.

I think I just need an app that says today you are eating X. It is the act of deciding what is for tea that I find onerous. The cooking itself is not so bad and I can delegate shopping.

Gensola · 25/03/2021 08:20

I quite liked Hello Fresh for that aspect - but found it too £££ and sometimes they left out random ingredients which meant a dash to shop which was annoying given the whole point is it’s supposed to be easy!
But I’d do it again if we were super busy.

Unescorted · 25/03/2021 09:57

That would be so frustrating - as you say it is to make life easier.

Gensola · 25/03/2021 10:13

The other thing was to realise how many calories are in things and what a normal portion is! That was an eye opener and no mistake

Happierwithouthim · 25/03/2021 10:30

Delighted with myself. Discovered yesterday my fridge/freezer has €100 off in Easter Sale. Checked out if I can buy and arrange delivery when I get new house - I can. Paying €599 with €140 shop and scan vouchers, €230 one for all vouchers and remainder in cash that I got as gifts at Christmas so net cost to me €0 Grin

Happierwithouthim · 25/03/2021 10:39

Sent letter off to close second credit card today Star

€70 on groomers to the house to groom ddog, she's badly in need of it Smile This is very expensive and a one off treat for both of us.

Gensola · 25/03/2021 11:08

Ooh nice one happier! We got £100 back when we got our new fridge freezer because the men delivering it dumped it outside house and left it there with a dent in

ememem84 · 25/03/2021 11:36

Yo!

I’m off to dunelm at lunchtime. I want a storage box for our freezer. I have one in Amazon basket but want to see if I can get one now!

It’ll get my steps up too. Yay!

Lovemaltesers · 25/03/2021 12:17

We have a monthly delivery set up with gousto due to when it was impossible during the first lockdown to sign up to these kind of things. We normally get a box delivered in the school holidays. Not frugal, but a treat when you can’t go out to eat

I am so fed up of cooking dinner at the moment! I’ll purposely potter about at home if I’m first home, in the hope DH will arrive back and want to cook 😂

Work has improved today. I get to start recruiting again. Makes a change from the data input of the last few months.

Happierwithouthim · 25/03/2021 12:31

gen and it works perfectly with or without dent Grin

I've used a few of these delivery boxes of dinners before just refreshes my appetite for cooking!

Wolfcub · 25/03/2021 12:37

Spoke to mortgage company again this morning to refresh decision in principle. Stbexdh's debt problems are now impacting my application. Fuming and hoping it can be resolved.

I've enjoyed the hello fresh boxes I've had (50% off deal) agree not worth full price. I haven't had missing ingredients but have had stupid sized ingredients. Have also enjoyed trying some new foods without having to invest in loads of expensive ingredients without knowing if we liked them.

Wolf - you can apply to put a note of disassociation onto your Equifax and Experian files. It will mean that your credit will need to be manually checked, but it is better than being turned down or getting unfavourable terms because of his debt. You will need evidence that your finances are separate and on what date that occurred.

SnugglySnerd · 25/03/2021 14:28

Yes North, I watched the bizarre house programme - weird and compulsive viewing in equal measure! I guessed the right Fern though!

Been doing house work. Or trying to. Dts keep trying to "help". Have sorted out yet more bags for the charity shop when it opens.

Happierwithouthim · 25/03/2021 17:09

Saved an extra €100 by buying graphite steel instead of black colour and can get cooker in mix of black and graphite steel to tie everything together

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/03/2021 18:32

Bargain happier

Mrsmadevans · 25/03/2021 18:40

@SnugglySnerd

Thanks everyone, feeling much better for a good night's sleep. Hopefully today will be a bit less eventful! Had a lot to deal with at work yesterday and a few stressful things at home too. Nothing really bad, it just felt like one thing after another!

I saw 24 hours too Mrs and thought the same thing - she was absolutely fab! What a thoroughly vile man the accused was though Sad

Never watched Grayson's Art Club, will give it a go.

Taskmaster tonight!

Snuggly the accused man was absolutely horrific. He must surely have been a psychopath , he had no pity or empathy for anyone Shock Glad you are feeling better Flowers
AmberItsACertainty · 25/03/2021 18:48

Happier that is one amazing bargain Smile

Wolf I don't know if this is even possible or a good idea, it's just a thought. Depending on how much the debt is and how much extra STBXH is screwing you over for, would it be a better option to say No, you'll stick to the original plans, but then also offer to pay off his debts as an additional gesture? So he still gets some extra money but it goes somewhere that's actually helpful to you. Maybe it's too late for that now you've already agreed to whatever-it-is the other day, but I thought I'd mention just in case. It all sounds like a massive nightmare and I don't envy you one bit.

NSD. I started a new project today. I'm going to be taking photos of the positive, the pretty and the unusual, then when I've got enough I'll print them off and make a scrapbook of my hometown.

Unescorted · 25/03/2021 18:58

I just watched that today - such a waste of oxygen. His story had more holes than a colander. The 2 girls are such heroes for reporting it.
The other thing I watched today we The Detectives on iPlayer. It is about organised crime gangs and is truly horrific and disturbingly graphic (it needs warnings and I am not overly squeemish).

I have made a Victoria sponge today .... butter cream, lashings of jam. I am the mummy with the mostest according to the babies. I am finding that the cheap (£20 at Tesco) hand mixer is better for cakes than my big stand mixer. I never thought I would say that..... If my job doesn't improve I will open a teashop.

Unescorted · 25/03/2021 18:59

Amber love the positive picture idea

Wolfcub · 25/03/2021 19:31

Amber the payment of his debts is the settlement figure. He's in over his head! But good idea if he wasn't so shit with money

Had a lovely comment from a member of my team today basically she's worked for a lot of strong female leaders and she thinks I'm one of the best. Absolutely made my week which has been a bit shit. Also got the result of my audit and came out much better than expected. Very happy with that
