Yes we divide and conquer although ds is more of a pain. Every time I think we’re done with his bedtime routine he needs something else.

Off to the office today. Yay.

Unescorted · 23/03/2021 08:53

Just for my marmite lovers and against my better judgement in the Guardian

SingToTheSky · 23/03/2021 09:58

North 💐 sorry you’re in that situation :(

:o at DGOD.

A year since lockdown 1 here. Wow.

ememem84 · 23/03/2021 11:49

unescorted marmite cheese straws? Yes. Marmite toasties. Yes. Marmite in spaghetti. Oh yes. Marmite in mash. Yup. Marmite smoothie? Hellll noooo

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/03/2021 12:03

Lost me at scrumptious Marmite Envy

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/03/2021 12:04

Not envy

ememem84 · 23/03/2021 13:03

Bought clothes for the dc. I’m now bankrupt.

Don’t often post on these threads but can I boast please as I’m very chuffed?! Made the last payment on our £15k loan today 💗💗 We also paid it off 15 months early! This frees us £476 a month to go on other debt. Would need to get the spreadsheet out for an exact figure (we have a finance meeting every other Wednesday) but now between us we owe around £14k on credit cards and the mortgage. Only £300 of the credit cards are currently charging interest but that will be paid on Friday. Then another £1000 will start to charge interest on 1st June so I guess it’s another balance transfer. Waiting on £818 in various refunds although one of those refunds isn’t guaranteed so I’m going to call it £718. That’s a nice chunk off the cards.

Phew, feels nice to get that out. I love reading these threads. It’s so great to hear how everyone is doing 🎉🎉

maddenlightfoot · 23/03/2021 15:04

March feels soooo long! Spends are out of control. I blame not being on here daily making myself accountable! I vow to turn over a new leaf in April 🍃!

March:
NSDs: 9/31
Groceries: £463.98/£390
Everything else: £310.24/350

ememem84 · 23/03/2021 16:22

Paid electrician and surveyors. So that’s almost £2k paid out. Waaaaa!

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/03/2021 16:26

That's fabulous bigpaper. Well done you guys and what a relief.

I'm looking at clothes for boy child ££££

ememem84 · 23/03/2021 16:51

Why are they so much?! And why do they keep growing. I swear ds just had new clothes because he grew. Now I’m buying new stuff again.

Happierwithouthim · 23/03/2021 17:13

Got word today that my mortgage application is gone in for loan offer Grin stage again pending provision of a bank statement I ordered on 2/3/21Angry

So today I went pricing some items I need to purchase yet again, trying to buy most from one retailer to save on delivery charges, I hate paying for delivery. Couch I want is Harvey Norman after parking my butt on 100+ couches last summer, it's on sale again now so hopefully it'll stay on sale this time until I'm ready to buy. But they don't have fridge I want, going to see what they have and see can I convince myself to buy a different one!

Spends yesterday €30 on replacing bulbs in car
today €25 horse riding and I'm not going to that shop with the dc unless they have coins for spending their pocket money

A colleague gave me fresh haddock on sat, made my own beer battered goujons last night le yum as em would say. Every bit as good as the ones I pay €13 for with chips in lovely fish shop in town. I also had it poached in my curry on sat eve and have another portion of goujons for tonight and some in freezer for battered fish and seafood pasta

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/03/2021 17:19

D's likes skater brands so £££ they are never bought paying full price

maddenlightfoot · 23/03/2021 17:29

Bigpaper that's a great milestone! Well done! Also to you happier - exciting times ahead!

Em when are you expecting the work to be finished? It'll be great if it's finished in time for summer!

Life well done for finding non-full price branded stuff. Skating t-shirts are particularly ££.

We're having a veggie Brinner tonight.

Happierwithouthim · 23/03/2021 17:47

Got a revolut account today to transfer my survey money into.

Also got thinking about my credit cards 3 of them €0 balance - limit on each €1k 0% interest and some cash back, €4.8k, €6.5k each are Avantcard so have rewards but I've never used them. It's coming to year end where I'll have to pay government stamp charge on each and this is payable on closing account. I want to keep one emergency card-which one peeps?

Is that the credit limit on both? What's the APR if you spend? Do they all have zero outstanding balance?
From that keep the £6.8 only assuming you will not go crazy buying.
lifelongfrugaleer · 23/03/2021 18:02

I do like the floating styles but they swamp me

SnugglySnerd · 23/03/2021 18:21

My phone's been playing up and I've been busy with work so am all behind. Will try and read back in a but but thought I'd say hi.
Nsd.

Life I bought it for the hot days in the Summer . l thought it would be cool being made out of Cheesecloth for me , l am a right heffer so they won't swap me Grin Grin
AmberItsACertainty · 23/03/2021 18:39

Spendy day today £100 in the supermarket. I also bought clothes Mrs, a green striped t-shirt and a brown/blue speckled jumper.

Hi Snuggly hope your phone sorts itself out. I'm currently ignoring a Google Chrome upgrade because the last one broke my phone and I had to uninstall it.

Happier I'd keep the €1k with 0% interest and cashback, but then I'm not likely to have any massively costly emergencies.

Wolfcub · 23/03/2021 18:45

Well done Bigpaper

Yay Happier

I need to make a divorce decision - do I pay out considerably more to get rid quicker. After three years of carry on I think yes as I am fed up and want to move on. I'd still be getting out with more than 50%

Happier agree with Em what's the apr on spend and cash withdrawal for each

OP posts:
maddenlightfoot · 23/03/2021 18:53

Wolf if the bit more than 50% will do you right then yes, I think that is a good idea. You've put up with so much and since transforming your home and getting rid of lots of exdh stuff, it seems a good time to wrap it all up officially. Line drawn x
