When dh had what we think was covid last year every morning I brought him a jug of water to refil his water bottle plus a humongous flask of tea.

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/03/2021 06:45

You go unescorted. You have the frugal collective behind you.

Unescorted · 24/03/2021 06:48

I am still feeling fine - not even a sore arm yet. I am going to have to do my best Scarlet O'Hara impression.

Gensola · 24/03/2021 07:58

wolf I think you did the right thing. DH divorce from his ExW dragged on for two years due to her delaying and not filling in paperwork and then demanding things that were clearly unreasonable (she earns twice as much as we do put together but wanted him to continue paying all her bills!)
In the end he gave her a much larger share of the house and a bigger slice of his pension than he had intended but I honestly think the divorce would still be going now if he hadn’t - her solicitor advised her to sign it all ASAP to get the £££ and she did. It was SUCH a relief, neither of us really realised the toll it was taking with never knowing when a nasty email would come and just the endless waiting.

Happierwithouthim · 24/03/2021 08:13

I sent in paperwork for my divorce before Christmas, got no reply from court office so assumed it was due to covid, no it turns out its because I've not got a solicitor handling it so I've asked diy divorce to send on next stage of paperwork and hopefully it'll move along nicely.

so €4800 is at 12.4% and €6500 is at 14%.

90c on a nature valley bar for me and €6.30 from ds pocket money, €6 from dd's it's an improvement.

Did you guys have the halo around the moon last night?

Lovemaltesers · 24/03/2021 12:35

I’m sure the dgod is expected to be used even for the most minor of ailment or even just in case unescorted. Make the most of it!

Happierwithouthim · 24/03/2021 13:37

€96.92 on 120 sachets of revive active(buy one box get second for 50% off) and a bottle of ogx sulphate free shampoo for myself and dd.

Unescorted · 24/03/2021 14:15

I don't think I made a convincing patient. Every 2 minutes "are you going to or do you want me to ....?" DGoD has failed me. In good news I have not even had more than the tiniest ache in my arm so far.

I have spent the day following the Suez canal developments - if at any point I think I am having a bad day I will use it as an example of how much worse it could be.

Happierwithouthim · 24/03/2021 14:51

I missed out on what DGoD means - can someone enlighten me?

SingToTheSky · 24/03/2021 16:11

Dressing gown of doooooom

Accompanied by shuffling and probably sniffing. Used to signify the wearer is Terribly Unwell :o

Unescorted · 24/03/2021 17:05

While wearing it is obligatory to be in the most awkward high visibility place so that everyone in the house knows you are Terribly Unwell. Note the bar of unwellness is lower for those with higher testosterone levels and those under the age of 18. Childbirth and marriage works as a vaccination and renders the DGoD useless in most cases.

SingToTheSky · 24/03/2021 17:10

Just had the chat with my new work coach. She’s lovely yay! Totally understanding of the health stuff, and pleased with what I’ve been doing to work towards long term goals (apparently that makes me her ideal client #smug). :o Looking at admin type roles first and she’s seen a lot with potential for home working which could be nice.

I figured it was definitely something tongue in cheek alright GrinGrinGrin
Unescorted · 24/03/2021 18:39

Sing working towards long term goals and achieving them is what all employers want to see. You have every right to be pleased with yourself.

Well that was a long and stressful day. At 4pm I was looking forward to a glass of wine to keep myself going, by 6pm I was ready for a good cry and I think I have gone past all that now and I just want to sit and watch rubbish TV!

But yes, it could be worse, I could be on a boat stuck in the Suez Canal!

Unescorted · 24/03/2021 19:58

Flowers Wine snuggly sorry you have had such a shit day.

Can I recommend Grayson Perry's Art Club for lovely de stress TV

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/03/2021 20:07

AmberItsACertainty · 24/03/2021 21:28

Hope you have a better day tomorrow Snuggly

Unescorted you maybe didn't whine enough in response to any questions. Glad your arm didn't hurt though.

Congratulations on the work coach meeting Sing

NSD. Went for a walk by the river in twilight listening to the birdsong.

SnugglySnerd · 25/03/2021 06:13

Thanks everyone, feeling much better for a good night's sleep. Hopefully today will be a bit less eventful! Had a lot to deal with at work yesterday and a few stressful things at home too. Nothing really bad, it just felt like one thing after another!

I saw 24 hours too Mrs and thought the same thing - she was absolutely fab! What a thoroughly vile man the accused was though Sad

Never watched Grayson's Art Club, will give it a go.

Taskmaster tonight!

maddenlightfoot · 25/03/2021 06:31

My dressing gown in my most treasured possession 😂. I'm wearing it on top of my cycling gear right now trying to pretend I don't have to leave for work in a minute
