You can Life but the rules are strict. I had a £25 dinner paid for as corporate hospitality following a late evening meeting a while ago and the paperwork was Unbelievable. As Unescorted says it's just not worth it

Fearofawelshplanet · 18/02/2021 19:44

LSD- 1.97 potatoes...
Spent all day using old paints up and laid the floor tiles. Tomorrow is a cheap day I'm clesning the back of the campervan out and sorting the camping stuff into plastic tubs for storage.
Does anybody else on here for the life point surveys? It says I should be getting paid in PayPal but nothing has been paid in? I have done a lot of surveys just to try and earn a bit extra. Proper Aaving starts from Feb 25th. Xxx

ememem84 · 18/02/2021 19:57

Oook I’m so fucked. 8 glasses of wine. Albeit small. Fucccck.

Watching ru Paul while dh is making home made kfc.

ememem84 · 18/02/2021 21:26

The wine guy tried to persuade us to swish the wine about and spit it out. Apparently that’s what one does at a tasting. Apparently we shouldn’t slosh it down our throats. where’s the fun in that?

Should add the glasses were literally tiny

maddenlightfoot · 18/02/2021 21:43

I'm squeezing in here before joining the new thread! Oh I'm so jealous of the wine tasting - what a little slice of luxury 🤩

It's been a nsd today (yay!) but realised when my lovely new address labels arrived that I'd put the wrong postcode in (what a wally 🤦‍♀️)

Gensola · 19/02/2021 06:22

em I went to a work wine thing once and was similarly hammered after about 8 tiny glasses of wine. I’m sure it wasn’t that much but maybe the mixing of different sorts?! It sounds fun anyway, I might look into it after Lent Grin

lifelongfrugaleer · 19/02/2021 06:35

Where are the address labels from Madden?

ememem84 · 19/02/2021 06:56

Suprisingly feel ok this morning. Wahooo.

CamdenLurker · 19/02/2021 07:17

Happy Friday everyone!

Yay we made it Smile

Thursday is my shopping day so Dh picked me up at the station and we went straight out to Lidl, usually shop at Aldi but I had a £5 of £25 on the Lidl Plus app.

Spent £85.11 which included 3 Easter eggs for the kids and these two tiny house plants 🪴

Then went over to Tesco to pick up fish sauce, baking potatoes, parsnips and a lime, ended up also buying 2 steaks, satay stir fry sauce and some Thai spicy crackers spent £16.00.

I'm now off to accompany dd2 on her paper round Hmm

Hope you all have a great day and if it's you last day of half time I hope you get to relax!

Happy Friday indeed.

Camden there is an old boy around here that started off accompanying his son on the paper round... I don't see the son very often anymore.

DH is back from working in Welshshire this week. He forgot to pack socks and was caught out by the "non essential" shops and aisles being shut. He has been wearing the same pair of socks all week. The washing machine is ready to take delivery.

Wolfcub · 19/02/2021 08:20

Camden those are fab plants

Madden can you amend the postcodes by hand? How annoying

£50 last night to pay the excess for the boiler repair - seem to be haemorrhaging money this month I also need to pay the deposit for wardrobes soon, must chase that.

Mot and service booked for a couple of weeks time

Unescorted that's exactly why I think the none essential thing is silly. Like baby clothes and dummies and things being none essential. Clearly rules written by an idiot

But wine and alcohol can be bought freely!
Dc were in Easons during the week, irish book shop, all areas cordoned off, dd wanted to browse, sales assistant offered to pick up books for her, she was too shy and didn't know what she wanted. It wasn't an essential trip but they're on their midterm break so I wanted to do something with them.

maddenlightfoot · 19/02/2021 09:22

Life they're from vistaprint - I did think about contacting them but totally my own fault! Wolf I am going to amend by hand I think. It's only two letters at the end (I put in half of the new address and then had a brain fart and put the end as our current address 🤦‍♀️) - need to find an ultra-fine permanent marker.

Haha! My older brother had a paper-round. At first he got my mum to drive him around the village when it was raining and not long after, he convinced me to do it in return for buying me a mint aero from the post office from his wages each week. Cheeky sod 😂

CamdenLurker · 19/02/2021 11:24

Oh goodness unescorted - that will probably end up being me Confused I walk with dd2 on her paper round when I'm not at work, it's nice because we get to have a chat - which is mostly dd reading the front of the newspapers, or chatting about death and funerals as we pass the undertaker and she's always asking questions!

I couldn't spend a whole week in the same socks - did he rinse them out in the sink each night? Must feel like heaven putting fresh ones on after that.

Madden - all of my four have done a paper round at some point and ds2 was exactly like your brother, he would often not want to wake up on a Sunday and would bribe dd with Haribo!

I've just bunged a load of potatoes in the oven for lunch as they were starting to sprout, I've peeled the rest to make mash - frugal win!!

Wolfcub · 19/02/2021 12:45

£19 Indian snacky bits for tea. Cleaned house top to bottom. Been to bottle bank. Been for a walk. Currently making yesterday left over roast beef (the crust makes it amazing cold) into hot roast beef and onion baguettes. Yum
