Oops hit "post" too soon.

Fear thanks. I'll be ok once I've got over being stitched up -again- it's a bit of a theme in my life.

Gen I'm trying to do yoga daily. It's a bit hit and miss. I'm lacking motivation.

Em I'm laughing at you sending boob pics to you doc but at least you know what it is now.

NSD for me today.

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/02/2021 06:38

I think your plan of paying, galling as it is, seems the best way to lay it to rest. Parking twats

Unescorted · 18/02/2021 06:51

Amber I didn't realise that about trading standards. It sounds as if paying is for the best.

DH took his car to be fixed and MOTed yesterday so it could be sold. It sounded as if it's exhaust had been pulled off. When they went to fix it they realised that someone had stolen the catalytic converter. If you have a petrol car get a car camera / CCTV because apparently it is a thing now days. It is going to cost more to fix than the car is worth in parts.

Only 2 days to go in this week - YaY!

ememem84 · 18/02/2021 07:17

amber should note I didn’t start off with the boob pics. I text her first and asked if she’d be able to give an opinion...!

Mrsmadevans · 18/02/2021 07:25

Em your GP sounds a good un 😄 glad it's nothing serious 💐 👏

Mrsmadevans · 18/02/2021 07:28

Unescorted that is just a right pita what on earth! 💐

Mrsmadevans · 18/02/2021 07:38

Yay Madden fantastic news !! 👏
Amber it's galling when you have to pay and you might not have been at fault 😱 you are doing the best thing draw a line under it and forget it 💐
Love so sorry about the news re your Dad, poor man and now with the virus l hope he is much better very soon and well done to your DH 😄
I had better shift up to MumBobs have a lovely day everyone 😊

Wolfcub · 18/02/2021 08:25

Unescorted how annoying

Em pineapple rice looks great

Crap nights sleep again awake 4-7, tossing and turning before that and dosed a bit 7-8. Ds difficult again yesterday but not as bad as the day before and this morning so far spent talking my mate of a metaphorical ledge. This is not proving to be a relaxing or productive week off at all

OP posts:
Wolfcub · 18/02/2021 08:29

Amber I think I'd probably pay it too to avoid the stress

ememem84 · 18/02/2021 08:59

Tax return done. Hopefully they lower my rate again and then i can reap the benefits of this and save!

in November it was 0% then for January it shot up to 25% (because our stupid tx department didnt send it out to me, and therefore our payroll lady had to put me on the default 25%...) tomorrows rate will be 16% (payday tomorrow).

so fingers crossed it goes down again.

ememem84 · 18/02/2021 10:11

i've also just emailed the boss and asked when i can go back into the office full time. I am struggling here today - building site behind the house if in full swing, dh is noisy and there's a drain lorry in the road next to the house. so so noisy!! an di have headphones in and am listening to an audio book and i can still hear it.

boss' response..... "not yet!"

Wolfcub · 18/02/2021 10:50

£8 McDonald's post ds's meningitis vaccine. He managed not to faint even though he was having a bad bit of anxiety so thought he deserved a treat. I always reckons associating something positive afterwards helps - it's certainly helped with the orthodontist

OP posts:
AmberItsACertainty · 18/02/2021 11:03

em I don't know how you can work at all with that noise going on. Fingers crossed for the tax coming down. 25% sounds like a lot, maybe you'll get a rebate if you've paid too much?

Wolf that sounds so stressful. Hope your friend is ok and you get a good night's sleep tonight.

Unescorted WTF?! I suppose it's because they're expensive and accessible. Can't exactly nail it to the floor though. If you can't be bothered selling the parts I've sold wrecked cars on eBay with an honest description. It's surprising what some people will pay, especially if they're planning to take it abroad. Some countries cars are so expensive and they don't have the same rules as UK about MOTs etc, so it's cheaper by thousands for them to buy a foreign wreck and ship it home to fix up.

I'm off to hunt for my cheque book. Kept waking up this morning thinking about the parking fine and cursing them. My parcel has arrived from The Donkey Sanctuary gift shop. I bought some homewares so unpacking that is this morning's job. I suppose that had better count towards today's spends £55.

ememem84 · 18/02/2021 11:58

£6.10 posting a parcel of the dc's shoes to charity.

£7 coop milk.

having leftover reheated pineapple rice for lunch. le yum.

have a virtual wine tasting this evening. a schmoozey law firm in London has sent me and 3 colleagues mini bottles of each of the 8 wines. plus two assorted cases (each). so im good for wine...

Mrsmadevans · 18/02/2021 13:16

Wolf that is a great idea l think it really helps the DC to think positively about it . They used to give the Children stickers and crayons and colouring sheets after they had their bloods done on the ward l was on Smile

Mrsmadevans · 18/02/2021 13:17

Em damn noise but omg! That wine Grin

Mrsmadevans · 18/02/2021 13:18

Amber hope you find your cheque book Flowers

SnugglySnerd · 18/02/2021 14:01

That's great about the wine Em! Wish that sort of thing happened in my job Grin

Called in Asda to buy all the things that were missing from the Trsco order or that we forgot to order plus things that only Asda seems to sell like gram flour and raw poppadoms (decent sized packet for 75p, not like the posh branded ones that are 8 for about 2 quid!) Whole lot onle came to £27!

ememem84 · 18/02/2021 14:57

i'm going to get so sloshed tonight.

the wine minis are proper minis. so maybe a quarter of a glass in each mini bottle. but the cases....oooh im excited about them. from what i can see its a nice mix of red, white and some sparkling wine. one is an english sparkly which i'm actually rather excited to try.

I annoyingly had to pay customs duty on it when it was delivered to the house. and had to declare it to works as the value is over our gift limit of £250.... but a great gift. and a bit of a fun evening. dh might join in once he's put the dc to bed too. so that'll be nice. the law firm said to invite partners etc especially if they work for different firms, so they can widen their reach into the island.

Wolfcub · 18/02/2021 15:03

That's a great gift Em and a great gift limit. I think we have to declare everything and there's a £25 limit where you have to get supervisor approval first

Making a roast for a late afternoon lunch/early dinner. We've not had lunch because we had mcd's. There will be loads of beef leftovers. I probably should have cut the joint in half before cooking.

Made a cake, taste and texture beautiful but it's not pretty. Remind me to bin my silicone tins because they don't half bollock up the bottoms but I couldn't find my second metal 7 inch one. If in doubt I'll Chuck custard on it

OP posts:
ememem84 · 18/02/2021 15:42

it doesnt happen often wolf so its a nice treat.

Oh yum. I love leftover beefy.

cold in sandwiches, hot in a spicy as hell thai salad, or in a yum curry.

cleaners are in at present. so that'll be £60.

Unescorted · 18/02/2021 15:59

wolf we have the same. The developers send us all sorts and we just have to send them back. It is not worth the bother. em enjoy your wine Wine.

Good idea with the positive association for jabs.

Amber he is selling the roof separately and the car itself is going as a whole to the place where cars go to die Sad. The garage across the way kept having them stolen too until they installed posh monitored CCTV. I park my car in the area their CCTV covers. It has also prevented our bikes getting stolen on a couple of occasions because it covers up to our gate.

Lovemaltesers · 18/02/2021 16:38

We’ve had a lazy day here. DH took the DC for a splashy, muddy walk but I had to stay home I may have had a lovely nap

Asked the nurse when she called with a question about dad for if there is anything he needs. She suggested some easy wear elasticated trousers so I’ve ordered Ddad some joggers. Not sure what he will make of them, but he’ll will be wearing borrowed clothes this week as he only took a small amount until we’re out of isolation and can drop stuff off. I got DH to pay for them Grin

I suspect I might end up buying a few bits for dad as most of his stuff is falling apart. I know familiar is good but there is a limit to this and looking uncared for.

I also need to talk to Dmum about washing her own clothes. DH dropped off her shopping today and commented about how dirty her trousers were to me. These were the same grubby trousers I noticed two days ago...

Bornlazy · 18/02/2021 17:59

Hello everyone, just caught up with thread. 7 days till payday and bank balance looking ok despite my shopping bills being really high for the last 2 weeks. Just need to not fall at the last hurdle like I often do.

Amber I totally get why you'd just pay the fine. If you had to pay for the amount of hours you will have invested in trying to get out of it and worrying about it then freeing your mind of that worry has to be worth. Frustrating as it is the best thing is to draw a line under it and move on.

Madden great news on the house

Unescorted where I work there was a spate of thefts of catalytic converters from cars parked in the multi story car park. Imagine coming off a 12 hour shift and someone's stole a bit of your car Shock

Love I'm so sorry to hear that about your dad. I hope he settles soon. We ask families to bring in jogging trousers and trainers for our patients. We can have wee ladies in their 80s who will never have worn anything like that in their lives, but they are obviously very comfortable and much easier for changing.

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/02/2021 18:56

£638 building survey, £26 aldi £9 pound land.

Yes joggers are easier love.
DM is probably In shock and a bit lost, as I'm sure you are too.

Mm drunk em is always funny. Grin

I didn't think we could accept any gifts. Not that anyone would send me anything as I always say no to them
