Dh is making pancakes for the dc. Who will no doubt have pancakes at nursery too. Woop.

I’m off to the office in a bit. Yay. Peace.

SnugglySnerd · 16/02/2021 07:28

I wish I had that habit Unescorted!

Nsd yesterday. Dh picking up the supermarket shop today (did click and collect) which came to about £84 in the end. We needed lots of things like toothpaste and dishwasher tablets that always bu.p the price up. Realised we have quite a lot in the cupboards so while I don't have to think about work this week I'm going to do a full cupboard audit and meal plan based on that to use some things up. We have about 4 tins of black beans, I don't know why, none of us like them very much!

ememem84 · 16/02/2021 07:56

I used to have that habit. Then the dc cottoned to my early get ups and join me now. So we do tea and CBeebies.

If I want alone time in the mornings it’s up at 430 for me. Which is equally as insane.

I posted at 3 ish this morning because Dd woke up. Not because I was cleaning..:.

Mrsmadevans · 16/02/2021 08:43

@ememem84

Not sure mrs how would I know?

I’ll get calamine lotion when I’m at office in the morning. Will walk right by pharmacy.

Shingles looks a bit like cold sores Em 😱 l hope it isn't because it's horrible. Calamine cream that is a new one on me l am going to get some of that it sounds brilliant thank you for the heads up. Hope you are feeling better this morning bless you 💐
Mrsmadevans · 16/02/2021 08:45

ememem84 · 16/02/2021 12:35

cc balance £-435.09 phew. this will absolutely be paid off near to or on payday. phew. which officially is the 21 of each month but i think this month it'll be the 19th.

home from office now. spends today:

£13 superdrug on hair bands for dd - i only have boring brown ones so bought her some sparkly ones, some clippies and some ones for blonde hair as well as some superdrug own brand "footer" socks.

£14 tesco shop - on biscuits and chocolatey snacks.

Happierwithouthim · 16/02/2021 15:21

Also did roast chicken on Sunday, Aldi super 6 €3.50, fed 2 adults & 2 dc, plus there was another roast dinner in the pickings for me, rest for dog, felt bad putting carcass in bin but I've no room in freezer and I'd no veg left to make soup with.

Then this morning I found the potato gratin in fridge! But it's not out until 8th March!

Em so funny your mum and her notions, I presume they're tongue in cheek Wink

I took dc to town to pick up their book club books & to return some clothes to dunnes and to bring rubbish and recycling to dump. Somehow ended up spending in dunnes, McDonald's, mr price and easons Shockit is their midterm though.
I didn't buy for myself at McDonald's so will have a late lunch at home

Happierwithouthim · 16/02/2021 15:51

€35 on 40kg coal & 5 bags of turf. Hoping this will be the last spend on fuel for a while.

Lovemaltesers · 16/02/2021 16:50

Sorry to hear your news gen

Ddad got admitted to hospital today under MHA. Feeling quite shitty about having to be part of it really. But it is for the best, and my mum knows that too.

I got a spare covid vaccine the other day. I was so poorly afterwards with chills/temp all night. I think I was iller with the side effects than DH was with actual covid!

Lovemaltesers · 16/02/2021 16:57

I will hasten to add DH was very fortunate with his covid. He’s very special 🤣

Wolfcub · 16/02/2021 16:59

Ah Love I'm so sorry to hear that, that must be so tough on you but hopefully it is the best thing for your dad

OP posts:
SingToTheSky · 16/02/2021 17:05

Sorry love :( hope he gets the help he needs, and that your mum is ok xx

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/02/2021 17:29

Ah love Flowers I assume not voluntary. It feels shitty now but will give you all a break. And ddad the best treatment

Unescorted · 16/02/2021 17:57

love it is a difficult decision to make. DH got sectioned once and at first it was so scary and bewildering, but it was really the best place for him and ultimately led to really good treatment for his depression. The next time he went in voluntarily.

My housework habit is only to put off exercise or paid work. It also means I have a nice long evening all for me.

Gensola · 16/02/2021 18:21

Sorry to hear about your dad love Flowers

SnugglySnerd · 16/02/2021 18:23

Sorry to hear about your dad Love. I'm sure it is for the best but that doesn't make it any easier emotionally.

AmberItsACertainty · 16/02/2021 18:25

em I find antihistamine tablets stop itching regardless of the cause.

I'm feeling rubbish. Think I'm going to have to pay my parking fine even though it's a scam. I'm a bit thick unfortunately and I can't get my head around the steps and actions necessary for defending it. It's making me ill worrying about it. I've got the money, I just don't like being stitched up. But if I pay it I can forget about it and move on. Makes me feel like a useless person though.

Someone was supposed to come buy something yesterday but never turned up. I've spent £68 on clothes I don't need, to cheer myself up (I know, I know). But I've managed to be brilliantly organized with the supermarket and spent only £79 which about half of what I usually spend. I'm pleased with myself about that. So with the parking fine today's rather ouchy total is £390 Sad

I'm off to catch up on the thread now.

Happierwithouthim · 16/02/2021 18:31

I returned €28.76 worth of clothes to dunnes

Lovemaltesers · 16/02/2021 18:49

To now make things worse, Ddad has now also tested positive for covid! He was vaccinated 2.5 weeks ago

AmberItsACertainty · 16/02/2021 19:04

Sorry about your dad Love hope he gets the help he needs. That's not good about him catching covid despite being vaccinated. I guess the vaccine will mean he gets the virus milder than if he hadn't been vaccinated. Hope your side effects from your vaccine pass quickly too.

Gen sorry about your IVF. Flowers

Happier fair play to you. I never return anything ever Blush

Waves to all and Camden don't think I've seen you here before. I've not been here long myself but I've found it an encouraging place.

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/02/2021 19:14

Oh for crying out loud love. It never rains but it pours

ememem84 · 16/02/2021 20:10

Oh love sending so much love your way xxxx

amber have I missed something? If you know it’s a scam why are you paying it? Don’t do this. Just ignore it.

ememem84 · 16/02/2021 20:11

Seems like the rash had gone down somewhat. Must be because I ignored it all day....!

AmberItsACertainty · 16/02/2021 20:29

em it's because they're taking me to court. So I either pay it, defend it, or do nothing then get a CCJ and still have to pay it. It's a scam because I don't even know if I was there on the day in question years ago, I've received no paperwork until the Notice Before Claim stating the fine with other illegal costs added on, the grounds is failure to display a permit but there's no ability for anyone to purchase a permit for the site. I started looking into defending it but it's too complicated to understand and I can't organize my thoughts to do all the necessary things. I'm going to make myself ill if I keep trying. So I'm stuffed. Bloody annoying though.

I'm glad your rash has improved anyway em, could you be scratching it in your sleep? I put socks on my hands at night when my eczema is bad.
