@Wolfcub

Mrs no it's not a Covid thing it's something I've always done. Bedroom window is always wide open. Office, attic and ds's room are always vented at least
I think it's more healthy tbh, Wolf l love listening to the wind and rain too 😊 Sing l feel the fresher air makes it seem cleaner to me 🤗
ememem84 · 11/02/2021 22:29

Airing the house is something I’ve always done. Get up open the Windows. All of them. Even if it’s just for a bit. I try and sleep with the window open though. Dh hates this but i find I sleep better.

My best sleeps happen when I have the heavy winter duvet, catface and an open window. If I could leave the curtains open too then I would as I like waking up with the sun. Used to do this when I was on Mat leave and had ds or Dd in with me and dh was in the other room. Nice to wake up slowly with the day.

AmberItsACertainty · 11/02/2021 23:39

Thanks wolf

happier Ouch!

I air rooms too especially the bedroom. The living room only gets about half hour because I'm in it but the vents are left open at night. Fresh air is good for you.

Mrsmadevans · 11/02/2021 23:39

Em you could be related to me! l leave the curtains open 24/7 and regularly flash my tits to the neighbours Grin I always mean to put my nighty on but they have seen it all before so there's no point now Grin

Unescorted · 12/02/2021 06:27

The utility is permanently open, bathroom after it has been used. We have a constant stream of bikes being wheeled in, out and through the house so in winter we don't do much extra airing. In the summer windows and doors are open 24 /7

gen Dh & Ds are well known enough to make good money from talks about their adventures. The brands like DH's social media profile because he has couple '000 interactive followers, each post gets 2-300 likes or if DS is looking v. cute it will get over 1000. Their fan base tends to be people with high disposable incomes and spread across the world. He also takes a good photo, writes passable copy and refrains from making overtly political posts.

Mrs I only said yes to this house so I could do away with the curtains.

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/02/2021 06:56

House airer here too. It's good for the house too for condensation and such like.
Ouchie happier. Hope second day ache isn't too bad.
And adora.

Nsd yesterday. Need to get food today

Just thinking about Sea, Jam, Lonely, Quite, Laska and other missing frugaleers. If you are lurking lovelies I'm sending you frugal best wishes through the ether Thanks

Absolutely wolf

AmberItsACertainty · 12/02/2021 09:15

Mrs OMG I can't believe you flash people! Shock That did make me laugh.

I've got to renew my driving licence today. £20. I'm tired having not had much sleep.

Wolfcub · 12/02/2021 11:17

House cleaned top to bottom, including oven, except the bathroom which I currently haven't the energy for. Need to mop out the under sink cupboard. The outside pipes are frozen (again) and all the water that had collected in the sink (thanks ds) has drained out into the cupboard.

One load of washing done and hung up to dry. A carrier bags worth of decluttering done too

Missing them too wolf :(
Well done on all the cleaning. We had a bit of a spruce up yesterday, still too messy though. 😳

Thank you for all the comments on the volunteering. Must get my form in. Bit behind on my current course too. Nursery’s been shut for a couple of weeks.

I was thinking about them all last night, also Collie and her lovely seasonal lists of activities.

I'm sure I posted last night but it seems to have disappeared! Not sure about cheese and Marmite hot x buns Em. I love a cheese and Marmite sandwich but I'm a but of a hot x bun purist, I don't like them to be messed about with at all!

£48 Lidl which included 2 bunches of tulips and 2 bottles of wine, few bits for the weekend, half term extra snacks plus about a gazillion bananas as we seem to be getting through a bunch a day at the moment.

maddenlightfoot · 12/02/2021 13:38

I've finished the term 🎉, and what an odd, exhausting term it's been. Although the girls have had part time key worker places at school, there's no wrap-around care so we're having to juggle that. We're also within touching distance of exchange (hoping it will be Monday), so tensions are high!

I'm going to try and catch up a little bit...

I miss everyone too! Collie's seasonal bucket lists were fab and actually, probably extremely relevant now as most were things to do our on walks or in the house. And I always think of Jam's lovely house and manicures!

Welcome to anyone new... I can't really add anything very useful atm as house moving costs are astronomical 😂, however, being frugal is allowing us to pay for most of the costs from savings rather than adding to the mortgage so it does pay off. Right now, aiming for and planning NSDs is helping me to cut back a bit.

I'm loving the chat about airing houses. It's a constant battle here with me opening and then dh following behind closing them all again. I love going to bed in the summer months with curtains open and falling asleep as it gets darker - makes me feel nostalgia for childhood somehow!

February:
NSDs: 7/28
Groceries: £173.23/390
Everything else: £166.81/350

As I said, moving costs are spiralling, but I don't include all of these in my 'everything else' as that's just for incidental spends. Eg. Today I paid for our Royal Mail redirection service (£88), but this comes out of house savings so I won't count it in 'everything else', whereas the £27.27 I just spent on lovely new address labels will be as that's a 'want' rather than a need.

SnugglySnerd · 12/02/2021 13:55

Happy half term Madden! I'm so relieved it's here and I don't have to look at a laptop next week!

maddenlightfoot · 12/02/2021 14:02

You too snuggly 🎉. It's felt like such a long term hadn't it? But also like it never got started either 😬

SnugglySnerd · 12/02/2021 14:14

Thanks Madden, yes I know what you mean. It's been a strange term!

Lovemaltesers · 12/02/2021 14:48

DD2 is just on her golden time zoom call, then school is out!!! I always feel the urge to skip down the path out of school when I finish school but don’t as too many people to watch me

Things are escalating with ddad again, got a call at 6am and bless DH he went round before work. He ended up staying til 10am when the nursing team arrived. I think it was eye opening and exhausting for him 🙁

We’ve said the DC can order some toys online for half term with Christmas money/covid survey money as no idea when the shops will reopen.

Tightwad2020 · 12/02/2021 15:22

Just checking in to say have a great half-term to all you heroic homeschoolers. I would be utterly crap at it - still scarred from the battles over exam revision and GCSEs. Implacable parent and immoveable offspring, butting heads horribly.

Gensola - oh, good luck, Fingers crossed for you.

ememem84 · 12/02/2021 15:24

Cheese and marmite hot cross buns are yum.

Mrsmadevans · 12/02/2021 15:38
