Hi all, I’m back earlier than expected. I feel better being on here actually and being able to rant and share my feelings with you all. I’ve been feeling okay about grandads passing, he wasn’t a well man and I think he was happy not to be in pain. We can’t attend his funeral but we’re going to have our own celebration of his life at home. I’m now at home for 2 weeks (from Monday) as my class bubble has burst and so has the DC’s whole nursery. We’re awaiting tests, but none of us are feeling ill so fingers crossed we are okay. I’m really glad I planned my lessons so I could do them online as I do not need to worry about that for this week now. I’m taking every day as it comes as I am feeling a bit vulnerable but I’m trying to be kind to myself. I hope you don’t mind having me back and having a slight rant, I have read through and I will try and catch up later on today. I’ll leave you with a picture of the DC doing some Halloween crafts we did the other day.

Aw Pumpkin bless you of course we don't mind you being back and having a vent Flowers , l understand what you are saying re your Grandad Smile
That is a shame re the bubble bursting but at least it is half term and everyone can go back after an extended half term as normal Smile
You are such a lovely Mum doing lovely crafts with the Dc and sharing their pics thank you Smile

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/10/2020 17:22

Welcome back pumpkin

Your ex is a twatface cockwomble. I agree give him a week to get his stuff out of your house.

ememem84 · 16/10/2020 17:33

wolf unbelievable. Twat.

ememem84 · 16/10/2020 17:34

Ds napped this afternoon. Dd had a nap on me on the couch for a couple of hours. What else could I do but drink my tea and watch the haunting of Bill house.

Unescorted · 16/10/2020 18:13

wolf I am so angry on your behalf. He has been the most absent of parents when you were going through hell with DS. You held it all together and played nice. Although in the same situation I would have nailed him by his scrotum to the wooden floor of a disused warehouse and thrown the key in a canal.

Pumpkin lovely to see you. Your house looks so cosy. There are worse places to burst bubbles.

Em good tax skills.

Happier it is getting to 2nd birthday missed for the early in the year kids. DD missed her 18th... I am guessing her 19th will also pass. I am going to save up for a huge cake and bunch of flowers for her & have them delivered to college.

We are so lucky with the tiers... we are in 1 but only a couple of miles in 3 directions from tier 2 (and I am guessing 3 by tomorrow) . Weirdly our numbers are comparable to surrounding areas, but we were spared. Nothing to do with the number of media and political people who live / have 2nd homes here.

In a piece of good news... Dh's book has been published & printed. It looks beautiful. I am quite proud (although don't tell him....)

SnugglySnerd · 16/10/2020 18:42

That's awful Wolf Flowers

Welcome back Pumpkin.

Lovely news about DH's book Unescorted.

£61 today on diesel for the big car. It is ages since we last filled up, I think it was just before the start of term so I can't complain! I think it is about 8 pounds less to fill the tank than it was pre-lockdown too.

Mrsmadevans · 16/10/2020 19:04

Wow Unescorted that is amazing such an acomplishment of your Dh !
Congratulations to him Smile Lovely idea for your Dd 19th Smile !
Snuggly that is good going for your fuel bill , we used to have a diesel car too it was very economical . When we changed our car 2 years ago back to a petrol car it guzzles it !

apumpkinaday · 16/10/2020 21:19

Going to try and catch up with you all now from today, I hope I haven’t missed anything important. Thanks for all your kind messages and also sorry to all of those that have tougher restrictions.

I’m really sorry about your ex wolf, I hope you can get a good outcome💐

Good news about DM’s dentist appointment mrs, thank you for your kind words. It is good that the 2 week’s isolation has happened now so they only miss a week of education. And thank you, I don’t feel like a lovely mom sometimes but that means a lot to me❤️

Great news about your DH’s book unescorted! My house is quite cosy, I do love it.

Bornlazy · 16/10/2020 22:37

I'm sorry to hear about your grandad pumpkin glad you're posting again Flowers

northender · 16/10/2020 23:33

Haven't been properly following the thread this week so apologies if I've missed something major.
Sorry to hear about your grandad pumpkin glad you feel you can continue posting.
unescorted great news about the book!
life I'm going to pick up my Booths book in the morning. We are a 5 minute walk from Booths and it has been my weekly shop destination throughout lockdown, with an occasional storecupboard shop at aldi. Booths has felt so much safer than other supermarkets I've been to and yes is more expensive, but not always. Bizarrely, English butter is the same price as aldi. The Christmas book is a different level though and always seems to have a MN thread dedicated to it!
Wolf so sorry to read that, what an utter shit he is. Stay strong, we're here for you.
Snuggly, we have saved a lot on petrol & diesel too.

We have gone into tier 3 today, as expected. I'm so happy that gyms are staying open. We all use gyms and ds has just started back now that the cricket season is over and he seems much brighter for doing it and is eating better too. There may also be a girl at uni who is having an influence......
Watched Pretty in Pink with dd tonight. Fabulous 80s nostalgia!
No frugality to report here. Need to do my spreadsheets...

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/10/2020 07:06

I have a list for booths. It's 40 minutes drive from here though. I envy you having one 5 minutes away

Wolfcub · 17/10/2020 07:22

Unescorted congratulations on dh's book that's fab news

North really glad ds is settling well and is enjoying all the delights of uni Wink

Pumpkin glad to have you back, use us as you need us

I love Booths. I used to work not far from the media city one. I will need to put in an xmas order I think, stollen bites, yum

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/10/2020 07:28

Great news on the book unescorted
Hey North, pleased things are going ok

House view today so need to tidy. Feeling much better this morning. A night in the fresh air horsing around did me good. I do. Miss my walks.
No other spends planned but need to go through my Christmas list

Mrsmadevans · 17/10/2020 07:32

Morning everyone 😀
North the gyms are on the news this morning. They are really upsets that they have worked with Govt & Sage and the evidence is that transmission is very low yet they are closed although some tiers are allowed to open . It seems mad to me, there is no consistency. Lovely news that there may be a young lady on the scene , ahhh bless your Ds 🤗
Pumpkin thank you re Mum's dentist fingers crossed she can get them done 🤗
Life & North l envy both of you having Booths so near !
Going for a NSD today 😜
Have a lovely day everyone 😀

Mrsmadevans · 17/10/2020 07:36

Life good luck with the house viewing 🤗🍀🤞
Wolf another fan of Stollen here , nearly picked up a luxury one in Lidls yesterday but l knew l wouldn't be able to resist it before Christmas 😂

CamdenLurker · 17/10/2020 12:02

Good morning everyone!

Good to see you back pumpkin. DC's look like they are having fun with the crafts. None of us have had to isolate yet, but school is talking about taking an additional week off over half term.

Sorry to hear about the ex Wolf is there a g/f around as in my experience that's when they start to get difficult about money and contributing to dc's.

Started early this morning and went to the market, usually by this point in the year they'd be really ramping it up ready for Christmas shoppers, but at the moment there's nothing that hasn't been there since the summer. Only spent £20.

Dd1 has been busy making cinnamon buns, just just about to ice them so I'm looking forward to that.

Taking dd2 dancing soon, then the dog is going to the groomers which is £40 well spent, then the day will be almost over.

Anyone else have more exciting plans for the weekend?

Happierwithouthim · 17/10/2020 12:07

Wolf what an absolute wanker, you're in this situation because of him and now he expects you to pay for it too AngryAngryAngry

Mad on legal separation he has to pay for half, I will point that out if I need to or pay for it and recover my costs legally.

Pumpkin what a lovely way to mark his passing. Thanks

Unescorted remind me not to get on the wrong side of you Wink well done to your dh

Our levels work opposite way to you guys higher number here is higher restrictions and npett have asked for level 5 again yesterday.
I'm going to a beer garden tonight with bf & another couple I think this will be last night out for a long time.

Awake since 5.30am, did grocery shopping at 8.45, Dunnes €56.57 aldi €27.84 Lidl €5.39 and back on the road home for 9.30
Lidl included sweet tubes for dc stockings

I didn't get takeaway last night & didn't buy breakfast out this morning - bought flowers for myself €3.98 and my Nan €2,99 instead

I've my eye on an expensive ring for myself for Christmas going to save weekly for it.

Buns look fab Camden
I'm off to get a complete overhaul on my hair, and to see my Nan, then pick up bf on my way home and over to my friends at 8.30 to pick them up for night out.

Lovemaltesers · 17/10/2020 12:20

£33 in school uniform shop. I’ve given in and bought more PE kit, as the mid week washing/drying is just an added job which I can do without.

We’re going out for dinner tonight. So £60 ish I expect but I’ve got a free desert voucher x2. We never go out on Saturday night so living it up here 🤣

Happierwithouthim · 17/10/2020 13:24

I've been out walking while catching up with you guys Grin

Happier criky you have been busy😄 well done , ring sounds just darling . Where is that beautiful view?😍 l won't be offended if you don't want to say. I wish I was there it looks so free and wild 🤗on
Love that is money well spent imho, life is too short to be held to ransom over the sports kit laundering 😂
Popped to B&M spent £90 on stuff for Dd2 house. jUst for Christmas instead of money so she will have them now . Of all things a drinks trolley for her to put all her glasses and cocktail makers and bottles of booze 😂 good to see she has her priorities right 😂 #partyanimaldaughter

apumpkinaday · 17/10/2020 14:43

Afternoon everyone! Thank you again for your kind words, it is lovely to be back and you’re all such a great support. I’ve sorted the kids rooms out today, put some little bits up some pictures and bunting for them and made it all cosy. Will attach pics.

north I love the booths Christmas book!. I haven’t watched pretty in pink in years either, I’m very excited for the DC to grow up to be able to share them films with them. Sorry about tier 3, but I’m glad you’re still able to go to gyms! How lovely there may be a girl on the scene!

Good luck with the house viewing life!

camden how would you feel about an extra week off over half term?. The cinnamon buns look amazing

Thank you happier he would’ve wanted us to be happy. Enjoy your ‘possibly’ last night out!

Great bedrooms Pumpkin and what a lovely view Happier. I would love to live by the sea.

Also ordered a few more xmas gifts.

Oh and my heat holder socks arrived, thanks for that tip Mrs. I ordered some for dh too and he loves them.
